Check out my interview with the U.S. Navy’s Vice Admiral Brad Cooper on unmanned surface vehicles, artificial intelligence and America’s so-called future fleet: ruclips.net/video/kQrJGQpi7zE/видео.html
I don't think the USA is at the forefront of maritime drones when I see the German project from Thyssen/Krupp but make up your own mind about the world's largest undersea drone project MUM.
My favourite part was the drone-in-a-box. Such a versatile tool, you can strap one or more to pretty much anything and turn it into a drone mothership. Even a regular civilian speedboat!
Peter Zeihan recently made some bold claims in his newly released book on the aspect of navy power. He speculates the USA would slowly loose its power to patrol sea lanes which will inherently lead to an uprise in piracy. This video just proves the opposite is possible. With a low cost fleet of unmanned drones the whole fleetcarrier program might soon retire or at least downscale.
Zeihan is such a goof. He is a little informed on many topics, and well informed on almost none. I like the flow of his presentations, but his speculations aren’t based in reality. Peak noncredibility
If we are going to make the wars with unmanned machines in the future the solution is basic. Just force two generals in a chess match whoever wins has won the battle.
i am australian and i am hoping america will stay ahead of the game for the next 50 years, the free world only exists because america built it and maintains it ???
The Department of Defense need to reel the military contractors in so they cannot charge what ever price they want. If they wish to raise the prices on machines or any device the US military use for the sake of making money is unacceptance. That company should be held accountable for extortion. The CEO should be removed and jailed.
What in the world are you talking about? USA military contracts are open book and profits on a contract are limited. The government owns the designs and often changes suppliers as a product ages.
The problem here in the US is that we continue failing to safeguard US technology and programs. Somehow the CCP continues managing to get its hands on critical US military/civilian tech. The US spends billions and years developing the best systems possible just to have taken via espionage. China in many cases isn't just copying they are also using stolen data like the partial F-35 data to make exact copies sometimes modified but without spending the money.
@@jaxsazerac4904 I agree, Biden is huge problem. His admin seems to have an appeasement policy or no policy. Even worse we see them bowing to Chinese politicians. Corruption or incompetence it doesn’t matter but needs to stop.
The funny thing is that the US deployed hundreds of those drones on the south china sea and they are getting quickly "stolen" by not only Chinese but also south east asian fishermen. The reason is that once you salvage these drones and give them to the chinese military, you get rewarded a few grand worth of cash. I mean I don't know which is more impressive, the drones themselves, or how the Chinese counter these drones😅
1:35pm central. Oh to be 18 years old and just joining the Navy no days. There are so many amazing jobs to choose from especially for the technical men and women. I m still trying to get my🎉 grandson to come and explore today’s Navy.
We need to have these off the US Coast. China right now has 100 cargo ships off the coast of Los Angeles. These can and have been converted to military vessels. We need these off out coast ASAP !
I think those drones are more so for the citizens of their own countries than the so-called enemies. I’m sure they do come in handy for bad situations but it seems more of surveillance for us. They’re constantly building new gadgets for all of the sake of our protection.
Somewhere out there these drones are going to find something that doesn’t belong on this planet. And i mean something that’s been hidden in our oceans that doesn’t want to be found. Now would the public be shown? That’s another story. What other places on this planet can you hide? Kinda like godzilla himself hiding 😂
Question: How do they keep the solar panels clear of salt? As the water evaporates, it’s going to leave behind this residue. Opinion: I hope the task force is bringing the Ukrainians in on this work.
highly unlikely this will be given to Ukraine. the chances of it falling into Russian hands and being reverse engineered is too great. they are only just now getting m1a1 abrams, and f16s. we won't even give them f35s you think we'd give them our cutting edge top of the line tech? i want to support Ukraine as much as you do, but it's a matter of national security, and OPSEC.
Those techs you mentioned aren't really cutting edge top of the line stuff anymore tbh. Many countries have similar tech that can accomplish the same exact stuff.@@Aeternum_Gaming
Because Iran could never engineer such a thing on their own so they have to try to capture someone elses in hopes of coming even remotely close to their technology. The funny part is they cant use it because lack of AI 😂😂😂😂 China on the otherhand..
The military will only tell you what they know isn't a new concept or a threat to national security. There are far greater capable drones and tech being fielded that isn't being talked about or shared. Everything you see here has been in service for at least a decade, UAVs, UGVs, UNVs, and USVs have been at play for years now that what they show you here has been not only in development, but in use in clandestine ops for decades.
Trust me, They're not about to roll out the red carpet of our best tech to be copied by China or other nations. America doesn't play all their cards at once, no nation does. Night vision and thermal integration has been here for awhile, and yet just been released to public knowledge just recently. Why does the military have 1990s grade camera resolution?
Shelby is so inappropriate for military subject matter, in both the technical and presentation aspects. She should cover runway fashion.
All these drone boats are ready for our enemies to steal.
3:09 bro .... is that the actual camera footage ? 😂
no. they are not going to show military capabilities openly to journalists. they are likely just cheap off the shelf camers just for r&d purposes.
Someone needs to add mannequins to the top of these boats and just troll the heck out of the S&R Recon air units
