- After leaving Yellowstone the CDT follows the Montana/Idaho border for roughly 350 miles. This stretch of trail was challenging and exhausting for me. Although I certainly enjoyed parts of it, overall I began to lose my excitement for being out there. That combined with getting sick (again) and my bank account being almost on zero confirmed my decision to quit and save the rest of the trail for another time. So I got off in Darby. Thanks for following along on my adventure! I hope to get back out on trail next year to pick up the section from Darby to Glacier, as well as what I missed in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado due to fire closures. A lot of hail fell and the bear playing peekaboo was hilarious, beautiful section of the CDT, I really liked it!!
Thanks! Haha yes that bear encounter was amazing haha!
Very much enjoyed the slow, thoughtful pace of these. Hope you can get out to see those spots you missed.
Great footage and hike on CDT!
Regret you had some miserable times in such splendid country! Congratulations for pushing through and thanks giving us some remarkable scenery in spite of it all.
Loved that section of Trail. The terrain and weather challenges were frustrating, we had to find fun ways to keep morale up! Backcountry Wild Strawberry Crisp. So good!
Amazing video - well done, beautiful. Quick one, what is up with bird in the tree tops flying/reversing at 9.14??
Thanks! Good eye, never noticed that - have no idea haha just some glitch in the video probably
probably the best cdt vids ive found, thanks for sharing, missing the pct like crazy and jumping on the cdt next year so this was a great distraction from the common world for the afternoon :)
Thanks, enjoy the CDT when you hit it!
Good job man! Your videos are really nice to watch :). I hope you get some time to rest and recharge your batteries, you deserve it!
P.S. - cool highways in Idaho.😆
wow ,did you see the bear then took out your cam?
Yep! Was a cool moment
Great video, but the music? It would be better without it altogether.
Plenty of other hiking vlogs out there without music
If there's no trail how do you know where to go? how do you navigate in those situations?
Most hikers use a navigation app called FarOut. There are other gps apps you can use or of course map and compass.
@@MikeWindsor you can use that app with no signal or anything?
Yep! Just download the maps ahead of time
