Cedric is back at the roots of roots music Africa brought the beat but Ireland brought the rythem even though people wanna over de-white wash it but afro american culture ain't all black culture and white slaves is a fact!!!!!
Cédric Watson est toujours aussi incroyable. Il nous interprète cette belle ballade créole que l'on comprend très bien pour un francophone standard... C'est l'émotion créée par Cédric qui touche le cœur...
My favorite Cajun waltz. This tune gets me deep into my bones. Heard many versions, but this is absolutely spectacular. Wish you could be my fiddle teacher.
Born and raised in Beaumont Texas the language passed with my grandfather but the spirt lives on. They migrated from New Iberia to Beaumont. I love to see and hear this. Currently working on learning French.
I'm a direct descendent of Sylvester Prophet/Proffitt He was rebel from the battle of Preston, Lancashire,England 1715. He came to the United States in 1716 and settled in Goochland,Virginia. Over time family spread to tennessee where my grandfather H.L.Proffitt and Frank Proffitt are from. Frank Proffitt did all he could to preserve the folk music. He has alot of songs from the old country and alot of ones he wrote himself. The song "Tom Dooley" is by Frank Proffitt his aunt nancey was neighbors of both the Dooleys and fosters. He built banjos and dulcimers also. It's nice to hear how the music progressed to the different areas. I really like this song well played and well sang I'm definitely going to go listen to a few more of them. Keeping the music passed down is the most Important thing keep up the good work!
@thebeardedjohn 😂😂😂 Here we go. This is gonna be fun. let's hear it so I can make u look stupid. Ima enjoy flaming your ignorance. I'd love to hear how my family isn't my family 😂😂😂😂
Such incredible visions. A flashback of a memory that happened before this life I live in. These visions and memories I see when I listen. I know are not mine. Let me live in the song forever. And dance this dance that the melody makes me dance. In a way that I never have before. Let me live on in the song 🔥

I just didn't understand what he said about the song: as far as I understood it Janvier in this case is a surname: Father Janvier is asked for the hand of Pauline by a lovestruck man but is it denied and dies of a broken heart

Thanks Cedric. You're a fine ambassador for American roots music.

Not Tom Dooley!! What a badass!
Yeah but did Sylvester have pants like Cedric? haha
I caught Cedric’s music at Wintergrass last February. What energy! What a fiddler!
So beautiful. Thank you, Cedric.
Whould have been awesome to hear all play on stage.
Love what you bring to RUclips, Cedric.
Remember that a fret less fiddle (as they all are) has an infinite number of vibrational tones. Cedric Watson manages to make them ring loudly.
Wow. Posted 6 years ago and only 32 comments. What's wrong with people lol! Don't you realize what an amazing talent this dude is?
Riiiight!!!👀👀🤷🏻♀️
Fantastic Cedric. Bravo!
Great stuff Cedric..
I recently lost my parents. They loved French music. This brought me to tears. Thank you.

Beautiful tune and playing ... but what's up with those pants ... ?
Middle Eastern shalwar pants with the crutch about knee-height, I guess, but still a distraction.
They look absolutely dapper, what's your deal?
