Or he could try being a gamer. I ran into that problem a bit earlier than he did and I relied on the classic "for some reason games like to make reverse gear stupidly OP while putting forward gears on the struggle bus." You can get further up the hill to a point you can flip around and drive up using the tractor with the plow on it if you go up it straight in reverse. It's a weird thing in a ton of games and it's cheaper than buying the tires (not that he's strapped for cash currently.) So if you find yourself in a similar situation of you're at a hill you can't climb in a vehicle, it's always worth trying it in reverse because you never know if the reverse gear is just over powered.
I've found that the game will count you "hitting an edge with whatever tool you have in your hands" if you end up looking at edges at a certain angle. It's like if you're standing a bit behind them (off of where you're supposed to plow) and are just lining up to start moving snow. I keep getting the clanging for when you do hit an edge and I've had the wheeled shovels just drop from like 15% wear to 100% instantly because the game just spammed the collision. Like I'm literally just standing there and I hear the clank a couple times and then I get the warning, "You're tool is too damaged!" Nah, the gas station reward is currently bugged. It gives you that insane amount regardless of whether the gate is bugged or not. I've found my own bugged gate. It's at one of the houses that is always asking for removal. They've got a double iron wrought gate for their drive way that obviously swings to either side to open up. One of the gates, for me, opens up by going through the wall it's anchored into. Like that kind of backwards swinging clips through the property walls and settles back into the open position. When you close it, it spirals out of control until it slows down into it's closed position. So I think this is kind of just shoddy coding that slipped by that needs patching. It's something I'll forgive these devs for, since they seem to be really ambitious on what they want this game to be for how few of them there are, in comparison to Arrowhead and other "small studios."
I think the tools and clothing's breaking should be a option in my opinion, I mean it doesn't really make the game more difficult it just forces you to keep running back to your place to replace them

I got this game after watching you play it, Drae, and one consensus I've concluded is that the devs don't know anything about the rural mountainous US and are only going off of what pop culture they know of and their own local situations. First off, there's US Flags flying everywhere, yet we do have a flag code that states the flag should not be flown outdoors in adverse weather. Second of all, I have never seen anyone with so janked yards as the ones in this game. Fountains and 3rd garages around 20 planters. And I've never plowed my yard (/garden for those outside the US) before of snow. There's no reason to and as far as I've been told, it's bad for the grass. Why? I was never told why, but my elementary school teachers always got after us for digging in the snow until we got to the grass and told us not to do that. But most blatantly is that the devs have no idea how the economy over here in the US is. If you're paying $7.00 for a banana, that's someone playing you for a fool or you're in the depths of no where. Also, them calling ramen a "healthy meal" is dubious. The sodium content in actual ramen and even instant ramen is mind bogglingly high and it's definitely not a healthy option. So it really feels like there's some severe stereotyping going on from the devs who have no clue what it's like in the US and I fault them on this to a certain degree of breaking the immersion of the game. My running theory is if you want to make a good game, make the setting local. The reason I feel that Generation Zero is a fairly decent game is because it's taking the robot apocalypse theme, spinning it into the 80's/90's and basing it in Sweden, where the devs are located. They know the locations and they are familiar with what it's like there. Everyone's over done post-apocalypse USA, and it's easy to just copy and paste the same places all over. If you want to make a good game, base it in your local nation. That aside, there's still a few things the devs also need to tweak with the damage to tools. It seems that you can damage which ever tool you have in your hands if you're standing behind a lip/edge that you can collide with with that tool to damage it on the opposite side of where you're supposed to plow and it'll count it as you're colliding the edge with that tool. If you ignore the clanging noise it's making, that tool will basically disintegrate in your hands. It's counting every collision it can per bit refresh (I believe) so you can have tools go from almost new to 100% ruined in an instant. It's not fun and something needs to be done about it. This game really needs to decide what it wants to be. It kind of feels like it's trying to be a more gritty survival version of Power Wash Simulator, but it's just not there. I don't have anything against the devs themselves, it's just they're trying to accomplish too much that it feels like nothing's really fitting into place at times. Easy wins are being traded for complex nuances that really don't need to be added yet. But it's a fun time waster at the end of it all. A tad, frustrating in some aspects and it needs a lot of polish, but fun.
Also, just to add, you will want to look at storing your plows indoors for the upcoming updates. They're apparently planning on adding plow thieves to the game, because again that's their perception of the US. We apparently all go around stealing plows and not using them to plow snow drifts as they pile up...., and if it's out in the open, even on your property, apparently, they can and will get stolen. Putting them in your garage is apparently enough.
They just re-designed the gates to those extra fields at the school to allow the tractor to get in there for that particular mission. There are tractor tires in the store that should let you get up that hill
Not gunna lie I'm a little salty about this. Before 1.0 patch those courts did not have a big enough gate to even get the tractor through there. I did all of those BY HAND it took me like 3 hours to do.
Tell me you don’t understand snow removal without telling me. Those lines on the side are what happens to the snow you are moving. It doesn’t disappear in real life, and if it’s deep enough even if you angle the blade you can still get some squirting out to the wrong side. Which requires you to effectively do it all twice. I can’t wait for winter, I love plowing.
So i played after the last update and felt that the durability lost was way too fast. If you hit the curb at all with your tools you almost destroy it immediately. I haven't checked the newer update but will here soon, but it still seems like durability loss is still pretty high. Also Drae, buddy, go check the tires in the shop. There are spiked tires for the tractor too. I completed the gas station job and just bought every tire and replace all of my tools that got damaged after like one job. Also where in the hell can you turn the lights on in the garage of your shop? I keep going over to the light switch by the man door going outside in the garage thinking that it will turn the lights on, but nope. Plus I keep thinking that I'll randomly uncover some items hidden by the snow like they do in the tutorial. It would be awesome to be shoveling someones drive way and randomly find a wad of cash, a key, or something interesting. Why set up in the tutorial a way to find something on a job to not implement it unless its for a clue that is told to you by an NPC to the mysteries in the area that aren't part of the jobs you are working. Also there is a lot of clipping of the plows and tools on the curbs/edges. I understand there is a light or edge of the side walk or road; but come on. Its so aggressive that I couldn't plow large sections of a road do to the plow clipping the edge almost 2 blades width away from the edge of the road. Also, they need a fast travel feature. If your tires wear out and you are in an area where you cant drive out because its at the bottom of a hill and your all the way across the map. You have to walk the roads all the way back to your shop, buy new tires, then walk all the way back. Hell, even a fast travel to just items you own would be nice. Like, being able to move between your garage and the truck or tractor. Fun concept of a game but a lot of fine tuning still needing to be done. OK, I'll get off my soap box now.
think you just needed chains on the tractor to ger up the hill lol they widened the gates so the tractor wouild fit before the update it didnt fit you had to do it by hand
Was somewhat interested in this game. After this episode there is no way am I touching it now. Between the glitches and how poorly implemented degradation is makes me think the devs don't care about it. I honestly wonder if they even have QC or bug testing. The balance seems like a unheard of concept. 2K for a snowblower that won't even last a full job that does not even pay 2K... This should never have been released to the public with such glaring issues. Also how the fuck does a winter suit get wrecked in 2 days?! Devs like this piss me off. I don't care if they call it early access or what not. They should be paying the players for this. I'm also being serious. They are trying to get bug testing and balancing done while the testers are PAYING THEM! I'm not against early access and have bought quite a few myself. I do understand you can't find all bugs and that is why it's early access, but there is a difference between a few and nearly the whole game or at least the KEY ASPECTS! I'm honestly at a total loss about what the devs mindset is atm. This should be in closed testing not even open beta.
@@siccoblue2112 Did you actually watch the video or not? The very fact you don't know what I'm "ranting" about says a lot. It's a disgrace to say they have been balancing this game after watching the video. It's not even in the same continent of balance. Hell I even gave an example from the video here. Snowblower which costs 2K breaks down even before a job that pays less than 2K is done. You want to say that is anywhere close to balanced?
Moments like this where "all of a sudden" the amount is over 10x i only hear 2 words... Cheat Engine Perfectly fitting that it always happens in Singleplayer games with no server connection.
their pay and tool wear is still really messed up. plow the main roads, it won't be more than $2,000 for literally 2 hours of real life time. and the tires won't last through the duration of the one job in a lot of cases.
Has hte makers of this game ever used a fucking shovel? or a snow blower? lmao, I still own a fucking shovel that I had 15 years ago. and it' still works.
Drae, I still don't know how you do this. Must be a natural talent. The controls for the game in lower left corner for each vehicle look anything but easy, being separated across the keyboard and not localized around the asdf keys for left hand. Surely you must be using rt hand for mouse, how or why then are there function keys way over on the right side of keyboard? Might be too old school. I do see M stands for Map, that makes sense, few others too.. but I always thought the idea of pc gaming was left hand on wasd, rt hand on mouse, and then NEVER looking away from the screen. This being a passive lawn mowing "sim game" that you don't really "win" at, I guess it's ok to look away from the screen so that's probably why the keys are scattered like its City Skylines. I love you played this game and others for us to see, a fan of indies (except for manual labor sim jobs, the powerwash videos, this one, lawnmower or similar, the "low jobs" it's too much to spend time on when there's movies or other things to watch), but man, you know that this and others are more like tools than any game, to get very very young people (and even older ones) used to the idea of working, with businesses and what comes with that, from the ground up sometimes (those ones can be neat which I hate to admit but a few are pretty tight, it teaches people how to create a business in a realistic way that's a "sim game", that's unreal), like money, employees, machinery, upkeep, research and development, marketing, some plain common sense, etc, to get those same kids ready for the workforce so they won't be 100% ignorant when asked to do the simplest things. Even knowing machines take gasoline is a huge plus for them. Imagine retail workers, construction, phone csr's, offices, all blue or white collar jobs in the next 10-20yrs. Since their parents let them play or encouraged these seemingly harmless "worker sim" games at age 2 or 3, things are either going to be incredibly great - or horribly horribly bad and wrong in every way conceivable. Hopefully they won't be instant know it alls and get mortally wounded 1st day on the job.
My dude, it literally isn't that deep. Most of these sim games are made by 1-5 people. Often only a solo dev, hence why they're almost all so fucking clunky and obtuse. They're definitely not corporate workforce propaganda machines like you're suggesting.
Man. WTF is wrong with these developers. This plays like the Dark souls of all simulators. I will be passing on this train wreck of a sim and thanks for the heads up.
i was loving this game, and then they added this ridiculous wear system! i refuse to play until they drastically decrease the wear rate! a snowblower should last way longer then they feel it should.... thankfully star trucker is awesome and satisfactory hits 1.0 in a couple days, so its their loss i have other things to play.

Bruh, in real life, winter coats can last years.
Would like to see more lol
First time plowing out a mob money launding gas station? They cut you in.
I think the one he bought was designed for road plowing.
Drae, did you forget to get best tires for the tractor/lawnmower?
think you just needed chains on the tractor to ger up the hill lol they widened the gates so the tractor wouild fit before the update it didnt fit you had to do it by hand
@drae
He totally forgot that you can buy better wheels for the tractor to 😂
Just start on the left side XD
What? They have been updating and balancing the hell out of this game? What in the world are you ranting about?
@@siccoblue2112 Did you actually watch the video or not?
The very fact you don't know what I'm "ranting" about says a lot.
It's a disgrace to say they have been balancing this game after watching the video.
It's not even in the same continent of balance.
Hell I even gave an example from the video here. Snowblower which costs 2K breaks down even before a job that pays less than 2K is done.
You want to say that is anywhere close to balanced?
The clothes consumption are 10 man-days. How many days are you going in one episode?
You found the chase glitch!
shout out to chicken Bobr kurwa!
@drae what did you stop?
Draaaaeeeeeeeeee!!!
Moments like this where "all of a sudden" the amount is over 10x i only hear 2 words... Cheat Engine
Perfectly fitting that it always happens in Singleplayer games with no server connection.
I don’t understand, do they literally not even test their updates? The glitches in this game are astounding and the developers should be embarrassed
At least the brat kids can play basketball outside in the middle of winter.
Why does drae sound like gray still plays’s brother or sum😂
dont mention there is other tiers to the mini tractor. he deffently cant get diffrent tiers that might help out some
Drae you don't have spiked tires on the tractor
their pay and tool wear is still really messed up. plow the main roads, it won't be more than $2,000 for literally 2 hours of real life time. and the tires won't last through the duration of the one job in a lot of cases.
that money was from the highway job its just came late lol
This game is busted 😂😂
If u are adding durability in your game you should add some way to repair.Buying new item everytime is just stupid.
Has hte makers of this game ever used a fucking shovel? or a snow blower? lmao, I still own a fucking shovel that I had 15 years ago. and it' still works.
(kubełek z kurczakiem) zdziwienie to polskie jest w tej grze?
If I remember, you got ripped off on job payments over and over in the early episodes, so I guess you got payed back
Better cloths and gear should have better durability not less
I do not get it why cloths degrade so easily they ca last for years
48k for 30min plowing snow sign me up coach!
Lol EV ain't got shit in the winter so clearing the charger ports isn't mandatory 😅
How can you get rid of the lack
Hey drae the new truck is at the factory down factory lane
cant you call or somehow teleport the tractor?
POLISH DEV
Man. WTF is wrong with these developers. This plays like the Dark souls of all simulators. I will be passing on this train wreck of a sim and thanks for the heads up.
Lol
play zoo game
i was loving this game, and then they added this ridiculous wear system! i refuse to play until they drastically decrease the wear rate! a snowblower should last way longer then they feel it should.... thankfully star trucker is awesome and satisfactory hits 1.0 in a couple days, so its their loss i have other things to play.
Hippopotamus
❤
THE CLOTHING LAST FOR YEARS FFS LET ALONE THE WARE ON THE REST OF THE STUFF ITS A DEAL BREAKER .
🥰
First again lol
What ever happened to drug dealer simulator?
EARLY!!!
