      Hi, it's a pleasure having you here, don't be confused pls, it's simple.
      You can use size 8 (2-3 layers- depending on how tall you want the down tier to be) and size 6 (2 or 3 layers) as the top tier.
      Or
      Size 10 with size 8
      Or size 10 with size 7(this gives you a wider space between the two tiers)
      If u want a wider space in-between the two layers, y

      You can also experiment the sizes with your empty baking pans.
      Turn them over, for example turn the 8 inch pan upside down and put the 6 inch pan on top.
      Hope this helps. Wishing you the very best as you make the cake.
      Am rooting for you.😍💕💕💕💐💐💐

      The cake used here is light and dark, rich fruit cake. But if you are referring to sponge cake, I will make it.
      Thanks for joining us💐💐💐💐

    Nice job 👍 i think that next time when you notice your board peeking out from your cake, you can use boarder moulds. They give your cake a neat look, thank you.

    Beautiful and simple., I love the way you teach, well done. Please did you put the cake in the fridge before covering it with fondant after frosting or you just went ahead to cover it with fondant after frosting?

      No, I didn't put the frosted/crumb coated cake in the fridge before covering with fondant. I just continued straight up. It works better for me.

    How much icing sugar did you use for fondant

    • @JoyousCakesandMore
      @JoyousCakesandMore  4 месяца назад

      I used 2kg of icing sugar but the fondant remained. If you notice the design is minimal cos I used artificial flowers.

    Is your cake cold before keeping the fondant

    • @JoyousCakesandMore
      @JoyousCakesandMore  4 месяца назад

      No, Lilystable, I allowed my frozen cake to completely thaw before crumb coating and decorating with the fondant.
      Covering a cold cake with fondant will make d fondant sweat and sticky.

    Nice work. What caused the elephant skin?

    • @JoyousCakesandMore
      @JoyousCakesandMore  10 месяцев назад +1

      This happens when the fondant is rolled out and left for some time before using it to cover the cake. Sometimes the weather also contributes to it, especially during the harmattan season. It is therefore advised to work quickly when using fondant icing, you can also close the window of the work station to reduce the harshness of the weather which dries out the fondant.
      Hope this helps?
