It's what we call a knocker it's like a mini wood bat with a open eye screw hook I the end just slide it down the line till the hooks meet then knock them off
Thank you so if I understand correctly you're in death of 65 for the water your weights are staying at 65 for the water but you're only fishing at 7 foot depth that's where the other floats are holding the line. I live in eucha not too far from you so typically during the winter time is the fish around 7 to 10 ft water in the winter I noticed you said you don't have to fish off the bottom like a grandpa. We had to that was pretty cool I appreciate a response back and thank you for the video I look forward to trying I already went and bought some extra Hooks and line and some floats today
I use the same setup to remove catfish off of a troutline. I took 10 to 12 inches of a broom stick and bought a eye hook (kinda like the one women hang cups on only not as fancy, just a simple hook) and screw it in the end of the broom stick. Hook the down line of the trout line and give it a snatch. Once you get use to using it, it sure makes life easy. My Dad and I use to catch a boat load and never touch the first fish until we got home
I sure would like to learn more about how you make your lines. I just started fishing again after 25 years. I just retired and want to makeup some lines in the next week so I can get on the water the first week of Jan. Thanks for you vid it was fun. Merry Christmas
Darren Hoffman about 4:43 there's floats that clip to the line to set ur fish depth u bait it while it is in the box the hooks hang over the edge in slots on the box to set u clip on window weight and a float and drive off clipping on floats as it in spools
