Heeyy Lloyd, see I got the content out as promised, though with 4 months delay.. apparently the last 10% of work takes 50% of the time, who knew :) Thanks for watching and good luck with your Honda nuggets!
Thank you so much! I got more coming for sure, determined to pull through to the end. RUclips doesn't like this type of content much, so it seems, but I'll still post ever 2 weeks.
Man, I really enjoy watching these! Last thing I need in the night is to listen to another person on the other side of the screen. I just want to watch. You, my friend, nailed it! Btw love the idea behind strengthened A-pillars.
Thank you so much! The not talking thing is just a sideeffect of me having no speaking skills, I totally would make 3 hour videos of me vlogging if I could!
TY so much, there's definitely at least 4 more episodes coming. Car will probably never be "finished" finished, but I'm determined to get it back on the road at the very least.
This is how you FIX Not just service items Or Minor bolt on repairs If people embraced fixed, took time to learn or had the motivation to pay someone not only will there be more jobs, but more cars saved. Not to mention less pollution. less personal debt, less unproductive time and less need to buy new.
This is a really nice change of pace compared to the usual RUclips car builds I'm sick of seeing. Really appreciate your hard work this far to save this old CRX.
Thank you so much, happy you enjoyed it! Yes, the format is not very common, for good reasonm as it's way more work than just talking to the camera and pointing at things :)
I know next to nothing about cars but your videos are so fun and well edited!! Very relaxing and satisfying to watch, I'm looking forward to the next episodes!
I love this! Watched the first video and now this 2nd one. I've seen worse rusted cars being repaired. This car would have been scrapped by many but only few take on this type of job. Thanks for saving a Honda :)
The Molasses works good. My brother got a cheap swimming pool and a 200l drum of it from a stock food place. Dunked the whole body shell in. It did half the car then turned it over to do the rest.
@@sidney9534 It needs to be approx 9:1 water to molasses. Takes 2-3 weeks. Farmlands sell 25kg for $68. The crude stock feed type is better than the more refined version from the supermarket but I have raided the wife's stock for small jobs.
It never fully dried, ended up wrinkly like a ballsack, and peeled off easily. Wouldn't even paint a fence with it next time. I ended up grinding it off and using a real automotive 2k epoxy, and that turned out great. Absolutely bulletproof, no wonder everyone likes it.
Thanks m8! So 99% the 1.6 engine is the ZC (same as mine), so no Vtec. But there was a SiR version with the early B16, and that has it. But it's a unicorn, so won't probably find that.
@@sidney9534 Thanks for the info (I wasn’t expecting you to reply 😅 so thank you) and keep making videos 👍 the stop motion format is a really good concept
Well spotted - it's a piece of some construction profile I found in the local scrapyard, I'm guessing metal deck for concrete casting. I noticed it's got the same shape as CRX sills :D And it's slightly thicker than original metal, so that helps with safety a bit. These old cars are so thin and soft..
Yes, that's true, I should probably put a warning somewhere. It was windy most of the time and I avoided breathing that stuff in, but a respirator would have been best. And not only galvanized, basically all welding fumes are dangerous, even the smokeless stuff like TIG.

I don't know myself. It's probably impossible to really restore it into mint condition, not with my skills. But I'd like to get it back on the road at least.
Where do you live? I have a 93 Celica that needs a lot of love like that and I don't have the time or the skills to do it. Would you be interested? I'll definitely pay
Thank you so much for the interest, that's very flattering! But even if you paid me minimum wage it would be too expensive. I'm not a pro and work extremely slow. Only the editing makes it look like a piece of cake.
Sidney, you're doing the Honda gods work here.
Love the reinforced A-pillars.

My man out here casually fabricating half of a crx from scratch.
You are onto something. Seriously good content with a unique format, you will make it if you keep this up!
Thank you so much! I got more coming for sure, determined to pull through to the end.

Wow this is even more work than I realized. I get anxiety just watching this
Same, tbh.

Found about your RUclips channel because of reddit and I love watching stuff like this. You got a new subscriber and can't wait for the next video!👍👍

the stop motion adds so much character

Thanks so much, I'm happy! More are coming for sure, stay subscribed! (At least until the car is done)
I know this probably takes so long to edit, but so satisfying.
It's definitely up there in time/result ratio, but yes, very satisfying especially seeing a difficult section come together.

youre very skilled mate, i envy whoever finds this series after you finish it
What an interesting take on car restoration ! Love CRXs and enjoying your content, thanks 👍

My brother got a cheap swimming pool and a 200l drum of it from a stock food place. Dunked the whole body shell in.
It did half the car then turned it over to do the rest.
In my case the result was a bit meh. I didn't put in high enough concentration.

@@GSimpsonOAM Yeah, I put in way less because it's silly expensive here. Should have checked the farmer stores like you.
I like the cut of your jibb, keep it up sir.
Let’s go! Ep 2 baby!
Amazing job, respect.
What didn't you like about the "epoxy" paint?
It never fully dried, ended up wrinkly like a ballsack, and peeled off easily. Wouldn't even paint a fence with it next time.

i looove these videos, please keep it up!!!
Someone beat me to it you sir are doing gods work to this gem glad to see this love it. One thing What's up with the molasses soak? Never heard of it.
It's supposed to eat rust, same as vinegar etc. But spolier alert: it didn't work very well.
cant wait for another video. keep up the good work. gonna post these on a CRX forum :)
Woww thank you! Yes, new one coming shortly
Great videos man glad I found you
Thank you so much, will try not to disappoint !
❤
Hey sup Nice videos by the way 👍 do you know if the CRX MK 1 with the 1.6 L engine is VTEC?
Thanks m8!

Where'd you get the large piece of metal for the pinch weld? Around 5:54

Man love the channel just found it great job on the crx. But you gotta stop welding galvanized steel very dangerous not good for your health

where can i donate materials too?

Makes me so happy seeing someone restore a classic honda what ever cost and time, respect sir👍👍👍 CRX are my Favourite hot hatch
Is that a red AW11 under the tarp?
Indeed. But it's probably in similar condition as the Honda.
This is awesome . Sir are you just doing this for practice or are you actually going to restore this crx.?
