Sucks we had our last trip to Chub also this 2024. Bummer we won't be able to go again in 2025 as they are going full private. Hope that doesn't work out and they go back to allowing the rest of us enjoy the place.
Switch over to 24 volts... only thing you really need to change is the alternators . light bulbs will be dimmer, but most important things will be fine
@@tryingnottosink9107 No starters and all motors will be a touch slower but will work fine , alternators, batts and some light bulbs were all I changed 14 years ago. still all fine .
arrrrggghhh capt flint with the rum for my fav sailors aarrrghhh cheers mates - fly the jolly roger and have fun and plunder - those u boat batteries are a pain in the aarrggghhhhssss
Batteries, batteries, BATTERIES! And Yay - a super-duper double Roger-Out with Lyn and Cleo!! Totally awesome! Question: at 7:45 why is the control panel for the helm wrapped in a blanket? I'm sure there's a practical reason but I couldn't guess what it might be?
Invest in a digital 6-12-24 volt battery/charging system analyzer Ed. They're not expensive and will give you better results than an ordinary voltmeter.
Have you thought of adding on a BMS that monitors each battery individually for charge and fault issues? A BMS would also ensure equal charging across all batteries. Assuming of course you do not have one, else it would have alerted you of an issue with the system.
Notice that Ed had his guitar lying out on the sofa. How do you control the humidity of the guitar? Being on the boat all the time can be tough on the guitar. They don't like anything but 45 to 55 per cent relative humidity.
A 12 v battery should not be below 12.2V , not 8-9V…A bad battery will draw down the other good batteries to try keeping the bad battery on life support. You need to polish your fuel and douche your tanks
Never a dull moment!
Love your videos...even when they're short. Hugs to both you.
Thanks!

Thanks. We hope it is helpful for viewers.
Would have liked to meet you in Annapolis, but we decided to skip this year and scheduled a different trip. Loved the music!
We hope you have a great trip!

OH NO MR. BILL!
I heard Chub Cay was going private at the end of 2024 does anybody know if the fuel dock would remain open for everybody? Such a handy fuel stop.

The starters as well - correct?

Is there any other way?

Perhaps left there from a previous night watch - used to cover up glare from instruments to help with night vision?
Our window actuator broke with the window open and we were protecting the tablets from rain coming in. We have since replaced the actuator.

Hi, love the videos and the music, who's the singer in your intro song?
Jessie Villa
What's with the furry blanket on the upper helm? Fixing rattles?
I don't remember. I guess someone was cold.
Hey Ed & Lynn, do you guys ever stop in Daytona?
Would love to meet you guys next time you guys pass by
Not Daytona, but we are in Titusville and visit New Smyrna often.
@@tryingnottosink9107
lol we were just in Titusville visiting NASA!

We have them for our lithium batteries but not the lead acid. We will be replacing them this coming season.
You can get a battery load tester that puts a load on the battery while testing. As you found out testing static voltage doesn’t tell you anything.
I have to get one of those.

That is why I only leave my inexpensive guitar onboard. The Taylor and the Ovation stay at the land house.
However, I has held up well for having been on the boat for 7 years.
Hi Ed, ever any thought about upgrading to a newer boat ?
lmao
No. All boats have issues and we like the layout of this one. Plus, I could not afford a new 65 foot boat.
Im sure you have heard this before but have you checked the deck fill deals?
Wow hydrogen leaking probably. Boom . Glad you found it . Watch the others closely
We have had three batteries fail like that over the years.

Except that they are 8v batteries, not 12 v
They are 8 volt gold cart batteries.
too many adverts
We can't control that.
