Says a lot when 4 markers on the list are effectively the same marker. PE has really done a great job with them.
Almost didn’t make this because it all just PE. lol
@PaintballRuinedMyLife surprised you said the etha 3m was the best sub 1000$ marker over the 170r(750$), but I guess at 200$ less the etha 3 does shoot the exact same
Glad you did though 🥰@@PaintballRuinedMyLife
@@planeteclipse HI i love you markers!
And even more got the same internals, would like to know how they work,
Perfect breakdown of the subject.
If you are getting into pump and are new to paintball - KP-3 line.
If you are eperienced to advanced in PB and new to pump, Phantom or a Cocker based Pump. Don't spend too much becuase pump is 100% not for everyone.
Great video explaining the key features to look for when shopping for entry level markers. Thank you.
Nice video Brad. This should help some folks getting started in paintball
Havnt played since I was in high school, 14 years ago, 33 now and looking to get back into the game, I have my old Spyder Sonix that still shoots pretty well, but was looking at the mini gs kit on lonewolf paintball for 450 with the tank, mask, and Halo too in it. Glad to see it made the list!
I started with a Spyder Imagine. Since my dad and brother played we also had Tippmann 98s, A5, ICD BK0, and WGP Orracle, and a CCI Phantom. The collection has since grown to a PE 170R with optional mech frame, EMF100 way over customized, and a T4E Glock .43 caliber paintball pistol. I am trying to rebuild a old 1st Gen Matrix LCD and a Sonic Autococker.
I played a lot around the time when the smart parts ion came out. Haven't played for years. Marriage children and such. Lately I have been thinking of getting back in to playing... and every vid I have seen tells me the emek or etha is going to be my go to for a new gun. Love your videos bud!
Got the stormer as my first gun and loved it for a while. Just got a mini gs as an upgrade
I ran with a Tippmann Cronus for several years before using the First Strike T-15 that I have today. It served me incredibly well, and was so easy to modify. I have to give it another run and upgrade it's internals so I can run with it more often because it is great. 😊
Got an Emek for my birthday after running with a Tippmann Gryphon for about a year. This thing feels amazing to shoot, and is capable of firing pretty freaking fast. I don't see myself needing to upgrade to an electronic gun for quite a while.
You really cant beat the Emek, such a great value. Have fun with it!
GREAT choice and if you need to UP it, there's plenty of choice out there for upgrade parts.
I’m glad people don’t have to start out with Brass Eagle or Spyders anymore. TBH I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing 😂
Ha my first ever paintball gun was a brass eagle from Walmart POS gun. Ended up buying a 98 Custom.
@@IamSullee 😂 started with Brass Eagle. Next was a Tippman A4?
Brass eagle was so shit lol
Stingray for the win
If you can swing it save for the Etha 3 , it shreds and you will never be out gunned on the field. You can even get a used one for around $350 . Big rule would be don't rush if you gotta save then do it , it will be worth it . Also avoid azodin and dangerous power like the plague .
Emek baby!
Can confirm with the emech it’s such a great gun We have them at the field I work at and we put better barrels on them and the customer just love it, also its super easy to work on
Excellent video for beginners.
🙏
I have to throw in the Nova N4, I recently got mine and have played a few weekends with it. It's honestly a solid competitor to the Emek 100. I got mine without the barrel for $200, put on an old CP one piece and it rips. Emek does feel like a more "refined" gun... but only slightly... the Nova feels just as good in the hands while shooting, but the shot is so unique and soft that I enjoy it much more than the pervasive Gamma Core. Maintenance is also easier on the Emek, but the videos on Nova's channel explain disassembling the major parts with ease.
TLDR; TRY A NOVA!
Last time i mentioned the nova on one his lives which was like in November lol he really disliked nova
@@briansegarra9312 The last video I saw of him reacting to the N2 seemed much more positive.
I'm still loving mine, had one small issue off the field; they told me how to fix over the phone and sent me pictures to help.
I'm going to sell a good majority of my other guns and buy the N2 when it drops on their website.
@migmag_9789 cool , which video ?? At least he changed his mind a little about nova ? I really want to get one but i dont play enough to justify it
I have an Etha 3m, used it for a year or so and it shoots lasers, I beat guys with electrics all the time, definitely, definitely worth the price
my wife and i dumped all our high end electros and only use emeks, 3ms and emf100s now and honestly have way more fun doing so. They are amazing markers
Exactly what I did. 👍
For any new players out there, here is how you figure how much to spend on gear: estimate your yearly paintball budget and spend half of it on paint/playing and the other half on your gear (gun, tank, hopper, mask, etc). If your a highschooler that doesnt have a job and maybe only has 200-300 a year to spend on paintball, pick up a used Tippmann (I like the gryphon because its cheap, hoseless, and has traditional ergonomics). If you have $700 a year to play with, pick up an Emek/Etha 3M or a used older high end tournament marker (like a Geo 3.5). It doesnt make sense to blow all your budget on gear and not have any money left to actually play, similarly it doesn't make sense to play every weekend with a 98 custom and CO2 tank.
If your looking to play on a tighter budget, look into magfed and pump. Generally with these styles you'll shoot through a bag of paint (500 rounds) per day instead of a case of paint (2,000 rounds). Paint is by far the most expensive consumable cost associated with paintball ($40-70 per case) so these play styles will allow you to play alot more for alot less (even though magfed and pump guns can be a bit more expensive to initially set up). And when you move to a hopperfed or semi auto gun you will feel so overpowered. It's a great way to build skill and handicap yourself against lower level players.
But yeah, paintball is expensive especially for highschool/college students starting out, but if your smart about it you can play a ton and not ruin yourself financially too bad.
Used to carry a stack of different barrels. Although I started playing in the 90s lol. Angel, shocker, autococker, automag, pumps.
Me too lol, now just cocker threads
Luckily I started with an Etek Lt 3 and then have just moved to A Gtek M170r. Playing with it for the first time this Sunday. Can’t wait! Great video
Have fun!
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife Thank you. Have a great weekend
In a recent recball match, a player using a magfed Tippmann TMC with a red-dot sight recked me with frequent headshots.. he was very accurate, tho the field was pretty small. I own both Etha 3s and I'm very satisfied with them 🙂 I use the mechanical one for woodsball and scenario and the electronic one for supair fields.
It's a great marker, especially with the right barrel. Magfed and pump players are always the ones to fear, not speedball guns
Was he shooting FSR? That makes a world of difference. Using FSR is almost like cheating when going against people only shooting roundball.
@@dylanfarley8136 You can get some really good shots in with the right barrel even without FSR. I use a Freak Insert barrel kit on my T-15 and I've hit shots from over 200 feet away after some arcing and compensation.
@@dylanfarley8136 No, he was using regular roundball. Tho I recon the sight gives you quite an advantage if the distance to target is fairly close but the target is mostly behind cover.
The best paintball content to this day!
👊
Man brad you my dude are just a legend with these tips lol as someone who went through so many markers i wish you was around when i started 😂😂 tipman 98 from the start then invert mini back in 08 was my first electric marker azodin blitz back in 2011 then you sold me the axe 2.0 from predator and then my 170r at sac paintball what should i get next ???
Absolutely awesome stuff! I’ve been going back and forth between the ETHA3 and CZR since I’m looking to get back into the game. I came across a Dye CZR w/ tank + hk tfx for $220 on Reddit and seems like a great value especially since I don’t think I’m gonna be jumping into anything competitive right away.
Definitely a good value, but I would still think hard about that Etha 3. PE's build quality is just on another level not to mention the resale value is much better when you go to upgrade (not that you'll ever need to).
@@Isaac_L.. thanks for this! I’ll look to see if I can find any deals on it.
@@mciarlillo1309 Maybe look for a used Etha 2 as well. They're very similar to the Etha 3 (identical performance wise), the only differences I know off the top of my head is that they are missing the quick release bolt (instead it's a toolless screw off design) and it has a nylon feedback instead of aluminum. It also has a different body design that looks a little less sleek and a bit more rugged. It has the same bolt, all the same firing modes, great barrel, pops on off, etc. It's a great option that will probably be a bit more expensive than that CZR, but cheaper than the Etha 3.
Just checked Ebay (which tends to be on the pricy side for used gear) and there's a lot of Etha 2s going for under $350. So for the price of an Etha 3 ($550) you could get an Etha 2, hopper ($80-130), mask ($40-200) and be well on your way to a carbon fiber tank ($160). And I'm sure if you're patient you can find a better deal on an Etha 2 (either one for under $300 or with an included hopper or other gear).
Everyone needs to go through there a5 arch they need to go through the pain of an a5
Recently got an Etek 5 used but seemed well maintained, wondering what were some things I should look at since it's my first time jumping to what I think is a midrange marker after years of playing with a low end gun (converting from a BT-4 with an e grip)
Just look up a general maintenance video. Take everything apart, make sure it's all cleaned up and relube. See if it shoots, if it leaks, just fix it with some new orings. My Gen 1 etek still shoots just fine so you won't have any issues with an etek 5!
emf100 with a body kit is really nice
EMF100 GANG!!
Teck vids would be cool, zb i would like to know where the air flows and how it functions
Does the E-Mek shoot like a 1500 marker or does the cs2/cs3 shoot like a 300 marker.
Just bought a mini gs last night waiting for it to ship. Haven’t played in probably five years till this past weekend, had so much fun. I’m addicted and now I’m an adult so alll my money is going to bills and paintball lol
Great gun, you’ll love it. Have fun!
Who remembers the curved barrel for spyders?
Are he 400 dollar ar rifles good?
The Tippmann A5 is better than the Stormer.
Why
It's hard to recommend the Etha 3/3m over a 160r🎉🎉🎉
160r's under 400$
Just picked up a 1.6 575$ ( 700 shots brand new )
170r' around 500$
Because of the economy the used market is the best it's ever been🎉🎉🎉
500$ can get a lot of top of the line pro guns right now 💸💸💸
For new players I feel it’s always better to buy new, if you know what you are looking at used is a great option.
For new players I agree 100% on buying new, then when you have a handle on basic maintenance hit up the BSTs if your into that
No way etha 3 is best sub 1000$ with the shocker under 1000
I'd take the Etha 3 over any shocker, other than maybe a 4x4.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife eyyyy eclipse private label days
First comment keep up the great work love the vids
Yeah the emf isnt the best magfed gun by far but its pretty good lmao
True, the MR6 is probably the best.
@@PaintballRuinedMyLife 😂😂😂
And yeah the EMF (which used to be the MG-100 when I bought it) is definitely the best. The T15 is good if you want realism, the Dye DAM is good if you want electronic firing modes (and a great but overpriced box mag), the Tippmanns are good if you're on a budget, but the EMF is the best if you want raw performance, reliability, and aftermarket support (for instance within the last couple months HK released a compatible $45 full auto valve). Even people who care alot about realism are ditching their T15s for EMFs because they're just so much better on paint and easy to maintain.
"The best mag fed marker on the market"
Forgot about the Dye DAM?
lol is this a joke
DAM is great, but the EMF is so much cheaper. Box mag and full auto are cool though.
EMF can be upgraded to full auto for $45 (via HK valve). I'll concede that the EMF doesn't have a satisfying box mag solution though. But for the price of a Dye DAM and a box mag (new) you can almost buy 4 EMFs (or one EMF upgraded into oblivion with an Inception Designs body, Fang Trigger, Deadly wind hair 45, S63 barrel w/ rifled inserts, a ton of CF-20 Mags, etc. Between a DAM and a ($1000) decked out EMF, I'm choosing the EMF all day).
Out of everybody I've talked to that runs a MG, only a small minority of them have said they've had consistent issues with it.
Out of everyone I've talked to that run a DAM, only a small minority of them actually can get it to work properly every time they play.
Real paintballers play 12 gram.
