I know this is going to sound super weird-but I don’t even care…🤣 *I want to sniff all your art/supplies.* I absolutely adore the smell cut wood and the campfire scent that pyrography art typically has!🤣💗👍
@@jonclemons9681 Sir, I am no where close to what she creates but I am trying my best by practicing . The best part I like about her is she uses the basic burning tools and the results are mind blowing 😊
Young lady, both you and Brenda Wilkes are true masters of your wood-burning art, as I am new to this level of artwork, and I do study your tutorials as best as I can-but please tell me more about The Walnut Hollow versa-tool, and how reliable are they in performance? I also like the Basswood with the wood bark, which I will be buying very shortly. Minisa, you and Brenda are superior masters of your magnificent pyrography artwork, and I will be studying your tutorials with more determination!
Hi I have seen a number of your videos and love all of them and the results are brilliant. My question is this (I know this is a year old thread but here goes) Where did you get the blue glove from it looks very light and comfortable?
Thank you. Yes, I do sell most of my work. This bison has sold and is currently in Germany, but I offer prints and originals on my website at www.minisapyrography.com
Hi Imlove how you captured the realism in this Bison. Did you use the same tip for the entire project or did you switch out to different tips for some areas?
Thank you! For the detailed work of burning the eyes, nose and horns, I used the Walnut Hollow Creative Versa-Tool burner and the shading point. For most of the large areas of fluff, I used the Razertip burner and the small round shader. I hope this helps!
I’ve watched several vids on the versa-tool and some folks mention the temperature control knob... that it moves easily and has to be taped down bc if u bump it you can change the heat setting accidentally. Do you use tape on the temperature control? This tool isn’t my first choice, but it’s all I can afford at the moment. I appreciate your videos using this tool... very much BECAUSE you’ve proven to me that this burner WILL work. If you can do it, I can do it. However, on your site you mention that for hardwoods and bone you recommend the Razortip? (Coleman) So CAN the versa-tool burn bone with variable tones (light brown through to black?) Is it doable? Is it possible? Again THANK YOU. Much appreciated. (Definitely need to make one of those little hand pads you have.
Hi Jay. Yes, the adjustment dial on the Versa-Tool can be easily bumped out of position. A simple piece of painter's tape can solve the problem. You can even wrap a rubber band around the dial to keep it locked into position. I usually burn on the maximum heat setting and just blow on the point to cool it down if needed. (Unless I'm burning areas of delicate and light values, such as a portrait.) Even though I own a Razertip, I still rely on the Versa-Tool for most of my work. However, I haven't burned on bone personally yet so I can't say if the Versa-Tool would work or not (I'm not fond of the idea of smelling burning bone lol.) Other artists that work on bone have advised that it can be difficult to burn. My advice would be to give it a try and see how it goes! The Versa-Tool might be able to burn bone, but it would probably take longer to build up the darker values. I hope this helps and best of luck!
Minisa Pyrography Thank you for getting back with me. I did end up purchasing the Versa Tool... so far I’m pleased. I did bump the dial and it did move to a lower setting... so I ended up holding dial in my left hand as I worked. It was somewhat inconvenient, but for $22 I’m not gonna complain. Thank you again. (I’ll get back with u on the bone thing.) 😁👍🏼
Minisa, I have been looking for a glove, so my burning hand stays cool while doing long burns. I see you wear one. might I ask where you got that glove. You are a wonderful artist. must come with the last name. Jerry Robinson
Minisa Pyrography No problem. I always wanted to turn a piece, like a plate, bowl, vase, and have beautiful wood burning on it, like your work. I’ve never done a collaboration video before, but I’ve heard they promote both channels well. For example, I could turn a piece of your choice of wood, then send it to you for wood burning. We could each video our creations and then at the end pool the video together for our channels. Something like that. I’m also subscribed to you on Facebook, if you want to chat there? Thanks -Speros
Thanks! Actually I used the Walnut Hollow Creative Versa-Tool with the shading point for the details such as the eyes, nose and horns. Then I used the Razertip and spoon shader for the large areas of fluffy fur. I hope this helps. :)
@@WoodBurningUniversity It helps immensely! Just ordered the Versa Tool with 11 tips last night.. now I have to make sure those tips are included. The razertip spoon shaded is it small or medium? I'm buying your courses Monday.. when will you start adding content to your Patreon? I think that's what people are waiting for before they sign up.
Hi Sean. I'm creating full-length video tutorials on my Patreon page: www.patreon.com/minisa The videos have instructions throughout and I also offer some written tutorials with step-by-step photos as well.
I use graphite paper to transfer on some of the basics, but a lot of the fur is quite abstract so I kind of eye-balled those areas. I hope this helps. :)
Hi Nicole. Yes, I've had that issue before; it helps to tighten the points with a pair of needle-nosed pliers to prevent them from coming loose. I hope this helps. :)

Hi I have seen a number of your videos and love all of them and the results are brilliant. My question is this (I know this is a year old thread but here goes)
Where did you get the blue glove from it looks very light and comfortable?
Thank you. I wear a simple gardening glove that helps protect against accidental burns. I bought this blue one about 10 years ago at my local walmart.
How do you manage to copy all that detail from just the naked eye? This is insane! You're amazing.
Lol, thank you. The project was quite large and that helps to add a lot of detail.

how long did it take you to complete this job?
