Great video! I have one of this model. There are no channels in FM/AM. All electrolytic capacitors replaced. but same issue. voltages are correct. What can be the problem. Thanks.
Everyone tells me to just twist off the old SMD capacitors but I have never been that brave. I guess it depends what the underlying pads are like. Interesting video thanks regards Chris
Hi Chris. Twisting them off does work very well but not if they have started leaking. I thought I would demonstrate a variety of methods in this video so people can chose which works best for their situation. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers Graham
Thanks Graham, a very in depth tutorial. I have just purchased one (cheap) with 19 faulty caps (none visible leaking) 3 original cap sizes are fitted. Can you tell me the Tantalum package size/types that are used to as replacements. ie possibly A to D. Regards, Ron
Thanks Ron. I haven’t really made a list. I decided to pick up a stock of different sizes and just use the ones that fit the pads best. It might be easier (and possibly cheaper) if you buy a kit from Adel or another Ebay seller. Let me know if you need any help. All the best Graham
Why not to use a pair of solder irons to heat both sides at the same time? The two irons then can be used like Chinese chopsticks to lift up the capacitor. No pads will be damaged in this way...and this method is by far less invasive than twisting!Regards from Italy.

Thanks for showing this Graham, really interesting, but not something I'd ever dare attempt. Your skill and patience are impressive! Regards, David.
Glad you enjoyed it David thanks
Great stuff, thank you. I'll be doing my own unit later in the week.
Thanks Claire and good luck with yours
@@Radiocruncher well the worst that can happen is you'll be doing another video in a couple of weeks about what a pigs ear I made of it! :)
Nice one, good to see another 7600 back from the dead. :)
Thanks Aston. It’s the 1st one I’ve done with tantalums and it worked very well

Hi Paolo. Thanks for your comment and I agree that the 2 soldering iron technique works well. I should have demonstrated that as well
