I forgot just how great Stone Sour's first album is. I remember when I was an 18 year old Slipknot fan, how much anticipation I had for this release. 20 years have passed, and I still enjoy this track as much as I did when it was released.
Same, though I was 14 when I heard it. Saw them live supporting Murderdolls & they were fantastic.
Song still sounds original & catchy even now.
I just about melted this cd when it came out. I got to see stone sour on their first tour off this album. Corey was just walking around outside. I told me friend that was with me that's fucking him dude. He walked up to us and talked to us for a little bit. I basically blubbered like an idiot the entire time.
You gotta love Corey's versatility as a vocalist.

That's sort of true, but it's more a difference of style, some songs by Slipknot are soft. Slipknot it more discordant and heavy and Stone Sour is more like Hard Rock with a Nu Metal twist and less masks

My very first concert was a Stonesour gig, I was about 12 and had fought and kicked my way to the dead centre of the stage and only had one row infront between me and the stage.. this being my first ever gig I wasn't expecting a massive mosh pit to just explode out of nowhere.. and during what I thought were my final moments alive lolol a MASSIVE guy just picked me up under my armpits like a toddler and walked carrying me to the side of the stage, to safety and to where my friends had ran when they couldn't find me.. never been so scared in my life!

You simply rotate between the two. SS did the self titled after Slipknot was done with the Iowa tour, then Come What(ever) May was created and toured after Slipknot's Vol. 3 cycle, and on and on. Keeps the plate full.

will bloodworth I've argued this before and again but it only sounds like one if you don't know the end of the song or decide to be closed minded about Slipknot doing stuff that's not so extreme. Snuff is a song that goes from the protagonist of the song blaming himself for everything to a slow realization that it's been the person the song is towards who in theirs eyes is at fault and that realization grows to anger and that anger grows to hate. It stops seeming like a stone sour song at "But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight" from which it builds and builds to true hate.
Snuff is a slipknot song.

You know in your heart that those lyrics are slipknot. Without the song there you'd say this was slipknot ever before you'd say it was stone sour. In a way, Snuff gives you something that no other slipknot song gives you: A way that someone could be brought to the level of hatred that Slipknot lives, breathes and built it's horrifying house on.

Seen both of them live, and I have to say that although the crowd energy for the Slipknot show was incredible, Stone Sour shows sound much better. And you really get to appreciate Corey's range and diverse vocals. Getting to hear the legendary screams on songs like Get Inside, Reborn, and Fabuless, but also getting the incredible cleans on songs like Through the Glass, Bother, and Tired. Both were incredible shows, but Stone Sour is just incredible live
