Interesting that you recorded this not intending to post it. The making of the videos is obviously cathartic for you. So good for you! I lost 65 lbs and felt wonderful. Subsequently put 30 of those pounds back on. It hurts to fall back. But I have been trying again and started lifting again a month and a half ago. Just keep trying. That’s all I can do. If you fall down 7 times, get up 8 times. Cheers man. Let’s do it.
“Why wouldn’t I want to do something everyday that I love”. There it is in a nutshell. This comment you made early in the videos sums up exactly what you are going ahead with now. To have this positive mindset already in place I think will bode extremely well for your new RUclips channel. It’s a flippant comment to make but so ironic in the grand scheme of things as to what you are planning. Maybe a new slogan for a t shirt! Maybe slightly long? Who knows. I certainly think merchandise is an excellent way maybe to run alongside your channel. I’m sure there will be many takers for it, especially if you can ship abroad etc. certainly to the UK where I, for one would order various items. Maybe mug, coffee cups etc, the list is endless. Looking forward to the next 2 weeks videos and especially the new channel which I’m sure you are researching and preparing for now. Great video, great content, can’t wait for the rest!!
Hi Julian, thanks! My focus is definitely the mindset of “Why wouldn’t I want to do something everyday that I love”. And I like the idea of a t shirt for that... hmmmmm. Also, yes, I'm trying to get my website ready for selling merchandise, I'm just crazy busy these 2 last weeks of work.
I get what you're saying, doing this is a very personal thing and making it public probably feels weird. If you do end up sharing what you are doing, I'll be watching, because I'm in a similar situation. I'm 38, obese, I have a young child, one on the way. I could use some good inspiration to improve myself for my family.
This is an affirmation that you are human like the rest of us. Even with your "failures", you are an inspiration because it teaches us that we can all get up and start again. Thank you for that. Yes on Vlogging daily - please! We will walk with you and will work out with you. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Being a winner doesn‘t mean to never slip and fall. It just means to be honest with yourself, reflect on things, get back up and walk on. You Sir are a winner!
“Leaning into hunger” is a great way to put it. I’ve been working on reframing that hunger feeling in a more positive way too. Rather than being something to avoid, hunger should be embraced since it is like a signal that our bodies are burning fat due to moderation of calories. Yep. I like where this is going. Go get it, Doug!👍 We’re with ya, man!
Seriously Chris, think about how easy weight loss would be if you actually ENJOYED being hungry. Not necessarily an easy place to get to, but I've been there, and it's freaking amazing!
Track or no track, it is the food that goes in that makes us gain weight. With me it started with eating junk once a week to once a day, to every meal. Now it is binge eating sugar everyday. If I dont binge eat, it constantly crowds my thoughts. I am trying to avoid sugar for last one week and it is not easy. Trying to avoid junk for last 4 days and not easy. As soon as I am off work, first thing comes to mind is binge eat sugar. Eating normal food feels new to me. Honestly not easy as junk food is all around me and just a click of a button away. I feel deprived. I feel bored. I feel lost. I remember eating that food brought back that happiness in life. It brought back "something to look forward to". Now I am fearful of food. Let's hope I can continue and hopefully your daily videos will help cross this journey.
I've been to Tiger's Tale many times. I used to work in the Bloomberg complex not far from there. I didn't work for Bloomberg, the company that I worked for at the time rented part of a building there. But, we had many lunches at Tiger's Tale (and also, Conte's Pizza, yum!).
My son was fat in past five years, he was unable to control eating. Whenever he sucess in weight loss, he started back to his eating habit. He managed to less 10kg last year during quarentine. Then, blummed up again, from 90kg raised to 110.5kg. All health indicatores are bad. I m so disappointed with his constant fluctating weight, I was angry, cried, disappointed.... Then, I decided to start again with him the journey, prepare his meals, go workout with him. From 16 July 110.5kg, back to 102.3kg today. Life is full of challenges, determination is vital to attain your goal. Nothing is easy. You were able to sucess once, can sucess again if your desire is strong enough. Reset your mind, you can do it!
I've been watching RUclips videos and you've done a great job losing all the weight I suggest every other day refed to keep the weight of if that helps 👍
@@WorkinThingsOut I did it back in 2016 and would do it every year if I had to. A good way to look at it is, they knock these out about once every 30 minutes and then send you home. It's not at a hospital or anything. it's pretty nice.
The diet is not over after at least 6 months AFTER the weight is gone. If you stop weighting immediately after the weight loss the weight is going to come back.

Let's do it Rob! Fall down 99 times, get up 100. Whatever it takes!

Top marks to you buddy, your a winner, even with the ups and downs, your still ahead.

So great to have you back. Really enjoy your videos, I'm a fellow lifter so I appreciate how good it makes you feel!!!

Yes! A vote for daily vlogging... thanks for that!
I'm glad your resetting and reflecting. Like you said "Figuring things out". I'm at the same point in my life and I can't wait to see where this goes.
Yes! Thank you!

We’ll said. Keep working things out! Greetings from Princeton!

Thanks for the tip! I've tried something similar, it actually worked well for me, so maybe I'll try it again.
Well done pal

You should consider LASIK, I think it would go hand in hand with your changes.
I've thought about it... not sure that I like messing with my eyes that way though.

So, what is your current weight ?
I don't know, I don't weigh myself.
The diet is not over after at least 6 months AFTER the weight is gone. If you stop weighting immediately after the weight loss the weight is going to come back.
More lifting = More you can eat = No problems with the weight
Lol, facts
Funny I just watched your original video a few hours ago. Try long term water fasting. 4-5 days.
I've thought about that, maybe some day.
@@WorkinThingsOut c'mon Doug. You're smarter than that. What would fasting for 5 days accomplish long term? (hint: nothing)
You need to go back to your walks and biking. Get out in nature. It helps with stress and calms you down.
Agreed. And, now that I quit my job, that will be pretty much all that I'll be doing, lol.
Life is a series of bad food choices.
