Agree! The way she teaches, even the more complex projects, makes me think I can do them too! One of the pencil cases she showed a while back is still my go-to project!
Your video tutorials are just THE best! Your instructions are always super clear, your fabrics are always super gorgeous, and the finished product is always something that I want to make time and time again. Thank you so much ♥️
Cute basket and great video. The only recommendation I would have is to cut your interfacing and fusible fleece just shorter than the 3/8” seam allowance in order to reduce the bulk in your seams.
You're a fabulous teacher. You always make the instructions quick and easy... no extraneous extras. Just straightforward and clear information. Thank you for another great one! I like the music on this video too. :)
Thanks for this great video. Made one tonight with scraps I had after searching for a similar basket online for several days. It will certainly take longer than ordering from Amazon but I know my gifts will be more meaningful if made by hand.
❤A wonderful project beautifully demoed and generously shared.I ,too, have your marvellous book but just love to watch you sew ! Thankyou and Happy Easter x
My first time watching, how fantastic your instructions and easy to follow. I'm going to make them for Mother's Day for my four daughter's. Thank you so very much for sharing 🎉 I read you have a book, what is the book title please!
Hi! Will someone please help and answer this question for me. I've made several baskets and I'm not happy with them. I think I'm "missing" this one step; what should the seam allowance be on the INTERIOR part of the bag? Is it 1/2" along the bottom, and sides (not mentioned in the video and this is where I'm lost). Thank you to someone who can answer this!! - I do love the baskets, just don't like that the interior liner is "saggy"
Hi Terri, 3/8” seam allowance for the interior seams as well. She only uses medium weight fusible interfacing for the lining, so if you want it to be the stiffness as the outer you can either use fusible fleece or choose a firmer interfacing. One recommendation I have that she didn’t do is to cut your fusible fleece and interfacing just under the 3/8” seam allowance, for then you will have less bulkiness in your seams. I how that this helps you.
This is how I do the linings for all of my bags that are made this way, where you’re sewing them around the top like that. You want the same allowance at the very top of the lining and the outer bag to be the same so that when you put one inside the other, they match up identically. But as you’re sewing that seam allowance after the first, maybe 2 inches or even an inch you wanna make the lining seam allowance a little bit bigger so if you start at the 10 mm line, you gonna slide your fabric over to the right a little bit so now you’re at a half inch. It doesn’t really matter the exact amount that you slide it over. It just needs to be a little bit and that will make your inner lining not sag. The trick though is to remember to do the exact same same allowance for at least the 1st inch at the top because you have to line that circumference up with the outer lining and if you have a bigger seam allowance, you won’t be able to do that because your lining will be a little bit short and it won’t be able to stretch so you’re out of bag will be too big. I hope that helps but if it doesn’t let me know and I’ll provide you with more information.
I've watched several of your videos and your work is very good. We very much appreciate your tutorials. BTW, would you share with us what your model Juki machine is and how well does it sew leather or heavy fabrics? Is it an industrial machine or a home sewing machine? I'm looking for a machine that sews heavier materials. Thank you.
Your every video is amazing. But the views of the videos are average , because your RUclips channel videos are not properly SEO and the videos are not promoted. By promoting videos with complete SEO you will get many views and also increase your RUclips channel subscribers. Then your business will grow further to increase sales
I have your book but nothing beats watching you sewing to inspire confidence! Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
