Bro you might not think not using cap to get another edge in FA is a mistake but it truly is. No GM is perfect and today we found that out. It’s not the end of the world but we need to address that position before the season starts
First, I want to say we no doubt need to add at edge after this. I had high hopes for BJ as well. Bo makes an excellent point the interior of this line is light years better than what we had last year. And so is the secondary. Solid coverage will lead to more sacks also. We didn't get much out of BJ last year and there was a crazy lack of talent on the defensive side. Yet there were glimmers of a solid system against good offenses. This is the second year of the system, and the talent is much better. I feel for BJ. I don't think it's as drastic as some think. There are rotational guys, and I believe we will add someone. Go Cards.
I feel bad for BJ personally, but he was unproven and we don’t actually know that we actually lost anything with him being injured lol. The only thing we actually lost was finding out what we actually had in him but nothing more. The defense of line is not good enough, regardless, to coin one of Johnny’s wonderful terms we signed to high-quality back up defensive tackles to start for us this year lol, which was an improvement over what we had last year, but it’s not going to make this team Pass rush any better, we are still going to project as a bottom four or five defense at best in the NFL this year, six wins is probably our ceiling Joanne and Nichols would be the third or fourth option in a defensive tackle rotation on just about any other defense in the NFL, but there options one and two for us, that should tell you enough about the quality or lack there of in our defense line. To back that up, we’re starting a first round defense rookie who may not have a real position in the NFL, a sixth round defensive tackle in his second year, and a first round defensive tackle bust from Seattle project to be the defensive line, not sure how people are getting the defensive line improved so drastically or think we’re going to have an average or better than that defense. This defense is still going to be fairly bad, might even border on unwatchable at times.
A common trend with the cardinals playing guys out of their position and not finding one position.. Last 3 coaching staffs.. Reddick.. Simmons .. Collins.. Bucannon
Lack of addressing DE even depth a big mistake this offseason and draft.. signs were there last yr of what they had.. zero sacks in the last six games and only a gift the week before with QB running out of bounds 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage… now they are scrambling with extension to a player out of position and Free Agent after cuts coming probably
Interesting correlation between players with hamstring issues and ACL tears. I believe Kyler had a hamstring issue before his tear, same with BJ. I hope he comes back and finds his place.

He's still super young with a lot of learning to do. We'll have to see how he uses this time off the field first.
