Thank you for the behind the scenes look. I’ve eaten from Shatila since the early 80s when they had their original location. We used to drive for 2 hours to visit friends, get groceries, bread and then of course stop at Shatila for the sweets. Their maamools look like one of mine I made and posted on my channel 😂. Thanks again.
Impressive! Lebanese people wherever they go, are true ambassadors to their lovely country. They work hard to live and make others enjoy their craft. Absolutely stunning ❤
I've loved the pistachio baklawa for decades. It's a must at my house each year. I also always buy a box to take to the office and share with colleagues.
Did Shatila CHANGE their Recipes, in last few yrs ?????... I recently tasted their baklawa and it was NOT GOOD -- the box came direct from a Detroit suburb. Their sweets were DELICIOUS 10+yrs ago.!
Simple question, I have never been able to find proper Arabic bread in the US. I ordered twice from Beirut, but 3-5 days later it is stale of course. I'm hoping you know where I can get the closest to the real thing in the US. Also Kaak
@@OakBarrelBBQ The best advice I can give people is to search on Google for Lebanese bakeries near you & then check the reviews. I don’t live in the States, I’m on the opposite side of the world but when I buy bread, I only keep out what I know I will be consuming in 3-5 days and I keep it in the fridge. Any extra I always keep in the freezer then take out when I need.
I am not part of this channel but it is best to look around where you live for Arabic bread. When I was in Michigan, I used to drive 2 hours to go to Yasmeen Bakery in Dearborn for bread and of course to Shatila for sweets for over 30 years. Yasmeen also made Kaek. In the Houston area, I like Cedars Bakery for their bread.
I actually has bread from Yasmeen once, A friend had it shipped to him regularly. That was the best I have had since Beirut. They weren't shipping anymore last I checked, but that may have been because of Covid. Thanks for the reminder@@CookandBakewithSamer
Worst place ever to have something delivered from. Went to Bloomfield to get something delivered said go to Dearborn and I did after driving 137 miles I needed a visual of what I was shipping to a friend. I did not know two Deer horns existed and went to Dearborn Heights . Then was.told nope can not even take a.order and turn it in for you have to call thisnumber. The employee would not even box up the Baklava I bought in store so I could bring on plane when asked said no we place it on the Styrofoam plate. At this point was too shy to ask for.refund. left there feeling very upset. Then called bakery number and the lady took order and never got a tracking number had to call for it. Kept exposing to the person said was coming to my address and we had not gotten she said I didn't open it and scroll down and.read what it said when I scrolled.down. she said no you didn't I said I read what it says I tHen said I swear to God and she said I was swearing at her wad like I know what I said and I didn't use swears. I will never ever grace these doors again. Only one person was.nice in Bloomfield I felt like because I am white they talked down to me and I didn't k ow the exact names of products. Package ended up a my friends neighbors house FedEx whom was paid around 70dollars placed it on wrong door step and was brought to my friend by neighbor after he saw my disable friend outside looking for it!

We tried their Baklawa many times over the last 24 years: need to try that in Lebanon… it evolved in Lebanon, but not at Shatila Detroit.
