Chill Out same here in the winter at least it’s 19 degrees right now and I get up to feed my animals at 5:30 so I get to freeze every morning to feed them

Painted turtles 🐢 hibernate under water and will be perfectly fine and happy in Florida even if it’s below freezing. They live longer if allowed to hibernate.

Yea but it's ok to keep them in warmer temperature even though in nature they pretty much just die for a few weeks in the ice.
Antonio Bishop they do no die under the ice, they have been found under ice, hibernating, and they can do this because painted turtles hold the record for going the the longest without breathing.
@@Cdog-km8pt I'm say they hibernate in a pretty much dead state then come back to life(pretty much).

Hey Paul, loving the videos. Could you possibly do a Christmas tank before Christmas Eve and pick the most Christmas - like fish or shrimp, colourful or bland, big or small. Not trying to make you do it but it would be a great idea. Once again loving the videos. 😄

Dude put a cover over the exotic pond
Most of the heat is lost through the surface when gas exchange happens, just a cover of any sort will do fine.

Hey paul love the camera as well as your new turtle enclosures. You helped get me into fish and turtles. I actually rescued my ornate box turtle from a family that gave it to a two and 1 year old that was being held in a cat carrier and being tossed around and thrown. I love my turtle and my fish it has become a passion of mine to do now. Thanks for all of your information, and the urge for me to do a pond next. Your awesome and keep up the great work.

Love your vids man but make sure you put a UVB bulb on the turtles too! The need it for their vitamins they don’t get from calcium to promote proper shell growth as well

IM EARLY!! I live in orlando and also have a turtle but i didnt hace sapce to put here inside so i just let walk around the house and she loves it! She hides under the tree and under the sofa, you inspire me so much, i want to be a marine biologist, and right now im only 12

If it is an aquatic turtle, do not feed them out of the water, they do not produce saliva and will choke if they are fed out of the water

Red eared sliders do fine in freezing weather
Redneck Reid with deeper water, the turtles would be fine because the deeper it is, the more insulation. Since the pond is so shallow, all of the water will be the same temp as the air, and since the turtles are young, it is just too big of a risk
