As a special education teacher I can assure you that there is more going on with this kid than ADHD. Also the attorney saying that the school enrolled him knowing of his past behavior, the school has NO CHOICE! They are a public school and under federal law each child is entitled to a free appropriate public education (FERPA). This mother is minimizing his actions by calling the shooting, an attempted murder of a teacher, an 'incident'. Unbelievable!!! I don't believe for one second that he just knocked the phone off of the teacher's desk. I believe he grabbed it and slammed it on the ground because the teacher wasn't catering to his whims. Just ADHD my foot! This kids sounds like he has ODD, and possibly RAD.

So many parents out there are constantly "reassuring" teachers that the parents' kids are "good kids", "smart kids", "happy kids", "advanced kids", "enthusiastic kids", "interested kids", etc. with no real proof in the pudding. It's all corporate cr*p coming out of their mouths solely in an effort to get their kids well educated before it's too late. All these parents are trying to do is save both their and their children's behinds because they know deep down that there are extreme issues to iron out, but they themselves don't want anything to do with them because they feel helpless and overall unable to tackle them the way they are supposed to as their children's legal guardians. It's an excuse-filled generation of parents that the world has been forced to deal with for decades now. And narcissism is the backbone of it all.

@@winonalovers I was working as a kindergarten teacher for two years before I became a special ed teacher and a speech therapist, and that is absolutely true! I don’t blame kids, but some parents are just soo defensive for no reason 🤦🏻‍♀️ long story short I got blamed for something I didn’t do, it all ended well, but I didn’t get an apology lol whatever 🥲 and then there was this family gathering and I was telling this story and to illustrate that kids will say anything if you manipulate them into it, I asked my little sister (two or three years old at the time) in a really sweet and empathetic voice if her parents ever hit her and she said yes, which is absolutely not true! 😂 I don’t know, maybe I was wrong for doing that, but I know my sister, she’s a happy kid, she’s not traumatized or anything 😊 but the family was shocked, that illustrates that types of parents perfectly, they are going to find trouble where it doesn’t exist and worst of all they’re going to put their kids through all that unnecessary drama and stress too 🤦🏻‍♀️ I love kids, but I work in IT now, I miss them, but I sure as hell don’t miss some of the parents 😂 also the whole education system (but especially kindergarten) is terrible in my country 🤷🏻‍♀️

My late wife was a special education teacher from about 1972 through 1986, teaching reading to middle school children with low IQs. A child, large for his age, threated to kill her. The parents were brought in for a meeting about their child's behavior. They sided with their child saying he wasn't learning anything, and it was my wife's fault. They started to become violent at which point the shool board's lawyer, and the teacher's union lawyer said the meeting was over. She started having severe migraines and panic attacks at this point, and had to retire. I hired a lawyer, and we were able to have her retire with full health benefits and a pension. NO teacher should have to deal with this sort of behavior.

The school has to enroll him, collect data, and make a case for him to go to a different school that has the resources for a child with these kinds of needs. The first line is to put him where everyone knows his needs will not be appropriately or adequately met before shelling out money for a specific school that can. Here's an update (September 2023): Deja Taylor, the mom (seen in this video) of the 6 year old who shot his teacher, is out on bond but has failed multiple drug tests, which are a condition of her freedom. She has tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. She has also missed two drug tests and two drug classes. Deja has pleaded guilty to using marijuana while in the possession of a firearm and prosecutors are asking for a sentence of 18 to 24 months. She is also facing sentencing for child neglect (felony) and reckless storage of a firearm (misdemeanor). Prosecutors have agreed to drop the reckless storage of a firearm charge and she will be given a sentence of no more than 6 months for the neglect charge. The teacher who was shot is suing the school system for $40 million, as they had been previously warned the child may have a gun on him but did not remove the child from the classroom.

This mother is believing everything thing her son tells her. I doubt he just accidentally knocked the phone out of the teacher's hands. She's claiming he was upset because the teacher was ignoring him, that's the moment you tell the kid she is one person and there's 20 other students in the class. He can not always have her attention.

Right there are prime examples of the entitlement sweeping this nation like a hurricane. Many parents and school administrators believe that kids are always in the right and teachers are always in the wrong. Complete selfishness has consumed the mentalities of many children, and as a result they think the whole world should revolve around them 24/7 or everybody else must prepare to suffer unduly. Parents like this mother would never apologize even if they were paid to do it. And their kids are so out of control that those same parents choose to throw in the towel early on and pray for a miracle. It's stomach churning.

“good mom” what a disgusting excuse for a mom. No way a 6 year old with ADHD found and unlocked a gun safe. the gun had to have been left unsecured. ADHD is not an excuse for shooting someone. Blaming his actions on “felt like he was being ignored” this “mother” belongs in jail, she still does not own up to her son’s severe oppositional behavior and violence-that is NOT ADHD. Sadly, I see jail down the line for the kid. denial or complete stupidity, Ido not know..Her apology is absurd “I apologize …out of the incident she did get hurt” Disgusting evasion of the gravity of the issue and uses passive description of the shooting of the teacher by her son. One can only hope she does not have more children.

You cannot tell me that ADHD is to blame, even if it was a factor that does not erase the child’s actions and the actions of the parents and family. You are to blame not the disability. I feel for his mom, I do but the end of the day her failure to protect her child from endangering himself and others is on her. Not his ADHD. She is lucky he didn’t kill the teacher or any of his classmates. Or himself.

Good parents do not send their children to be a problem to others. My now 7yo was having behavioral issues in KG, she was having a hard time communicating and would flip out when she was upset or sad. She would throw things, yell, kick. Her teacher was a GOOD teacher and I felt so bad, she’d be almost in tears when I’d have to go pick her up, she didn’t understand why she couldn’t help her. So this school year I got her into counseling and homeschooled her. She’s been doing much better and she seems ready to go back to in person school next school year (and if she get to acting again, she’ll be right back at home with 🙋🏽‍♀️).They need to start making these parents keep their kids and deal with it before sending them to be a distraction and a danger to others. There are signs early on, once you notice them ACT ACCORDINGLY so you can save your babies. It’s VERY alarming he shot his teacher and is acting as if it didn’t happen. I hope that child gets REAL help, adhd doesn’t typically cause a child to be angry. Something else is going on and the family will continue to fail this child if they don’t stop the denial and get this child the help he needs!!

Betcha 10:1 Mom stored her pistol under her pillow or mattress due to the high crime neighborhood she lives in! Parents like this couple remain in denial of their child's faults. They know that they have created a monster and refuse to accept their comeuppance. They just want to pray their way out of everything all the time and believe that the world owes them everything simply because they created the new human life to begin with. Who knows? Those very same parents may have disliked their son's teacher to begin with, so they possibly may have had a hand in this whole ordeal up front. They simply won't accept the fact that their child is a mass murderer because that automatically makes them look worse than bad as parents, the reality of which they themselves refuse to accept, ever.

The media often treats parents overly delicately. All throughout the pandemic, the media has always portrayed parents and students as being the "victims" of learning loss, school closures, teacher strikes, etc. It's as if parents and their offspring are utterly untouchable and nobody, absolutely nobody, can say anything bad about them publicly. That's putting those two parties on way too tall a pedestal. And it only further enables their ever-present entitlement.

Pulled that trigger 2 times, after hiding the gun to be able to premeditatedly sneak it into the classroom to shoot his teacher.
