Fern you have a beautiful family and you are such a Supermom that I admire, love you so much. Stay well and safe. Eager for your Sunday vlog very interested to hear, see the progress! ❤
Loved this video Fern!🌲 I grew up camping, hunting, fishing in Northern Ontario, Canada. It has become my absolute passion, but comfort is key! Our tenting trick: we keep everything in 1 plastic tote box (paper plates, paper towel, dish soap and a pail for dishes, cutlery, cutting boards, garbage bags, multiple lighters, ziplock bags..). Then everything is stored together and easy to pack for the next trip. Also keep all food locked in the vehicle to avoid critters hanging around (or black bears in our case). 1 Camping Essential: EXTRA socks! 🧦🏕️✨
Hey hi! Camper from BC Canada here and totally agree about the bin...it might take the skill of putting a puzzle together but most everything will fit. Must keep things contained while not using because mice are everywhere even in grassy EU camp sites. I've seen mice take a whole loaf of bread away.
Brings back so many fond memories, we did this with our 2 boys. It’s great for being able to give the kids a little freedom and independence. Tips I can give are- get a tent carpet, this will help take away the dampness from the ground . We always had 2 airbeds stacked on top of each other, it’s easier to get out of bed, and makes it a little warmer as you are not as close to the ground .The roll out tables are a good investment as take up little space, and good reclining chairs as the camping chairs do not last long if you are going to continue your camping adventures. Enjoy the time together, loved our camping adventures, it’s so special.!!
You two are fabulous parents! I think you’re giving your children an incredible life /experience . It so lovely to see such a young couple forging ahead… and in such an inspirational way 👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼xxxx
Gosh I really admire your energy and ability to multitask.. not sure I could add a new activity alongside renovation work. Thanks for inspiring us as always! X
A list is a great idea, I used mine for over 10 years of camping, helps so you don’t forget things like chopping board, can opener, brush & shovel etc etc. Camp sites with extra activities & luxuries sounds perfect, it’s all about everyone enjoying it, including mum lol
Loved this we’re going camping on Monday to Cornwall I usually do hotels but I love camping and I’m 62 love spending time with my kids and grandchildren xx
What a great campgrounds! Love it! The 1st (&only) time my hubby took me camping he put a heavy backpack on me, had to walk thru woods & swarming bugs then he asks “ Do you want to set up the tent or purify stream water! Had to hide our food from bears!
Loved this, camping is such fun when you get into it, well done to Seth for helping. I just love Ryan and his fun, energetic personality 😂, he comes out with some great things. Well done to Nancy with her Dance etc, loved her bathing costume, the pool looked lovely, looking forward to seeing your next trip 😊❤ xx
Girl, get a queen size air mattress !!! Our is so comfy, Our tent has rugs a table for coffee rugs table and tv, two tins for our kids 4 rooms, a rug in and out of tge door a broom dust pan ect pillows blankets and it looks like home!!!
I always enjoy the family together vlogs the most. It reminds me of my younger days. I am alone now with no children and my hubby has passed but we did try to do fun things with his children. Glad you want to continue doing things like this. Your kids will look back fondly. Love to you and the family.
Loved you sharing first camping trip….duvets are a must I hate sleeping bags and duvets are more comfortable and reminds you of home, get big zip laundry bags to put them in whilst travelling. Tea towels for drying up and some spare to wipe down tent floor etc. Airer to hang out wet towels and swimwear. Looking forward to your next adventure 💕 you both need more chill time with all that’s going on 😊
You want to maximize your time and exposure in nature when camping. It helps the development and nervous systems of the children. The trick is to bring the same apparel you would for skiing. Thermal clothing. You are exposed to the elements without controlled air environments. Bedding and coats goose down. A camp fire! Then you are okay! Eat to warm-up, sip warm drinks, soups. Caps. Wool materials. Investing in the best sleep pads is essential. You can also put blow-up beds and not camp pads. Camper vehicles grow more mold than the times you go out in them, so be careful of replicating the home environment when camping. This is one mistake people make. Camping is to counter your home life, living within toxins, building materials, paints, dusts. You want oxygen, open air, sounds of nature, laying nearest to earth ground.
Just love your adventures….especially ordering croissants and having dinner at the restaurant. No such thing in Australia….snaggers on the barbie here! Enjoy your family time. 🤗💐
Good morning 🌄, becoming a climatized to +30 s°C is not easy with hay fever season! In the western parts of Canada things are very basic. As I mentioned, trailers are pulled into a hookup. And then basically you're in the forest. Sometimes there are social nites. Campers bring along their guitars to the office clubhouse .All very Western country flavored. Super folksy. Certainly a different style than your experience. Because of the reality of night wildlife trailers have become popular. It's big country reality. Personally," I miss my Serta"(a clever mattress ad re:camping critique !) I'm not a camper. The few times I have done it, have not prompted more. Camping in the mountains is a memorable night time experience. Congratulations to Nancy! If you don't try something, you will never know. I do admire people that enjoy it. I think it's a wonderful thing to do successfully. Ryan and Seth are fundamental for joyful camping! 🎉❤❤❤❤🎉PS. There is a young man how about Seth's age that I mistakenly named Seth before I edited it as Zach the young man I know. He's a gardener I employ him. He is 13. It was an oops!
also fern, we do a green grass and shade canopy outside for our table ice chests cook stove ect. then sleeping and luggage inside and a table and rugs help with the dirt, also green grass outside the tent. or a matt.
I used to go camping in Spain with my daughter and family. They had a caravan. The sites in France, Spain etc are very well set up and it’s not like roughing it. Her in laws were always spending weeks at a time in France, Spain , Austria so people who camp a lot make themselves very comfortable and get to know what they need. My daughter started with a tent but found a caravan a bit more comfortable, maybe that’s the next step 😄
Looks like good fun! I’d def have faced the tent the other way.. so ya looking at the view may be 🤪 fabulous though! Wish I was there with you all ! 🥰♥️👌🏾
Hi sorry Fern I'm a self-confessed glamper lol,I cannot stand sleeping on a air bed lol,I can't....tanx for taking us along for camping with your beautiful family❤
Looked like you all had a fun time Fern😊! You’ll find your own way of doing things that suits you as you go along….making some great memories ….I have a great memory from a camping trip and stay at a campsite that catered for caravans and camping in a campsite somewhere in Cap d’Agde some years back. Here’s to more happy Camping guys….😊
Hi Fern , that was a lovely campsite family sites are the best swimming pool restaurant on site kids meeting kids ....what a lovely family camping trip and a huge Congratulations to Nancy well done 🎉Seth is getting so tall ..looking forward to Sunday . Great vlog Thank you always 🇨🇦
Campings not for me, don’t do creepy crawlers. Nancy doing her usual, deciding where everyone has to go. Seth is like his dad, he just goes with the flow. Loved the pool. Enjoyed this video. Love the family getaways.
Honestly I am not a very outdoorsy Lady so if I had to camp that's the way I would do it. I have to have amenities like a restaurant and pool to not be miserable 😂😂😂. Thank you for another wonderful video Fern. Love from Miami ❤🌞🌊🏖️
Congratulations Nancy. I’m so excited for you!👏👏👏 What a fun treat to see you all explore camping! How fun-and I love Ryan’s humor ans he's quite the tease. Fern you look gorgeous. Hopefully no bugs there-that steak looked great! Yum. Did Seth have fun?
Have to say that having a Campgrounds with a big pool as the one you swam in was pretty luxurious. Can’t wait to see where you’ll go next-maybe higher in the mountains-then you will need warmer nightwear and blankets!
I think you should invest in a travel trailer pull behind behind. This way you don’t have to spend an entire day setting up and taking down. You can supply the trailer with everything it needs. Just get in and go. We tent camped for years until I realized it wasn’t that relaxing spending so much time, packing, unpacking, packing up, unpacking, setting up tent, taking down tent. You waste half your time your supposed to be relaxing, working your but off an entire day out of your weekend. You can buy some relatively inexpensive ones that you can decorate to make a small travel space. I NEVER regretted doing it. I really miss camping, my second husband views roughing it as staying at anything less than a 5 star hotel. I loved watching this, it brings back great memories of living amongst nature. Come visit us on the coast in Southern California. Malibu. Now that’s some amazing sites
Teach them how to set up the tent. KUDOS TO SETH PUMPING UP THE BEDS!!! YOU BROUGHT COMFORT TO EVERYONE!!!🎉🎉🎉🏕🏞🏕. It is so essential to teach your children survival skills. Ryan you did a fantastic job setting up the tent ⛺️ 💪.
Hi Fern we have a motorhome and I use travel bottles for wash up liquid etc save all empty cartons and bottles they come in handy. Water wipes are great in case you get caught short ! Pegs and a line for damp towels . I only take end of tube toothpaste and deodorant ( I save them for just a weekend) keep things minimal and you will find ways to improvise. Nappy sacks toilet roll lots of kitchen roll cooking oil small empty glass jars. Pickles etc small tubs IKEA is great for bits collapsible buckets and bowls . What was the name of your campsite please? We have canoed down the tarn it is great fun and they give you a barrel for your picnic food etc and pick you up at the end and bring you back fantastic experience when the river is only 3 foot deep. Hope this helps . Enjoy
What great fun! We stayed in Camping Les Rives du Loup, Tourettes-Sur-Loup for 2 weeks in a 3-bed lodge - very close to some of the places you have visited and we went to that same Decathlon store. Great fun going back to basics and I remember they laid on a foam party for the kids. 😎💫👋
Fern- your first camping trip looked like fun! I grew up in Southern California (USA). Our family camped often at San Onofre State Beach & in the nearby mountains near Big Bear. Sometimes we camped in Yosemite National Park up near Sacramento. Google how to make some-mores. No camping trip of ours was without a campfire to sit around at night and the making of some-mores, a campfire treat! Maybe it’s just an American thing, but it was a requirement of every family camping trip.
You’re a better person than I Fern. I will never be a camper, tent or trailer 😜. Luckily I had in-laws that took our boys camping when they were young. Now I’m off to look up Yorkshire accent 😁
My husband and I got all the gear when my kids were young and went camping a couple the times on the third and last woke up to rain and everything wet . I’m a hotel kind of gal 😊 but I love your camping pool/ restaurant/ fresh bread in the morning 🥰
Fern you have a beautiful family and you are such a Supermom that I admire, love you so much. Stay well and safe. Eager for your Sunday vlog very interested to hear, see the progress! ❤

Ryan is so funny 😂😂😂

For cooking a large flat stove hooked to a propane tank is awesome. It’s pretty large and heavy but easy to fold and you can cook anything on it.
That was great.
Campings not for me, don’t do creepy crawlers. Nancy doing her usual, deciding where everyone has to go. Seth is like his dad, he just goes with the flow. Loved the pool. Enjoyed this video. Love the family getaways.
I think what you did was go Glamping, quite different from camping here in Canada! Glad you had fun! 🇨🇦

I’ve done both primitive tent camping and camper camping and tent camping is much more fun!

I always hated camping cause I never had
good sleep
Keep camping 🏕️. Campfires. S’mores hotdogs and alcohol make it all worthwhile do more hiking too, and do it in the fall. You love it.
