What is so funny about this skirt over pants trend is that when I was a kid - back in the early 70's, the girls were not allowed to wear pants to school. So during the winter time to keep warm, we wore pants under our skirts and took them off in the coatrooms or bathrooms. As I remember, the girls hated doing this. We thought we should be allowed to just wear pants to school on cold days. A few years later, girls were allowed to wear pants to schools and the skirt/pants combo was fazed out. What goes around comes around again and it wasn't even a trend.

Yes!!! And on gym/exercise day we got to wear pants (with the dress) too. LOL 😂
For me in France, it was very tacky to do that as it was the "poor"girls with flimsy skirts and flimsy pants and whose mothers forced to wear both together!
I hope you're going to do a series of thrifting the runway again. I love those, it's so inspirational!

Thanks for the inspiration and for the creative and playful way you approach fashion and styling; it helps me to remember to have fun with my clothes instead of feeling like I have to get it “right” somehow. It’s about *playing* dress-up, not perfecting anything!

The fact that I love tartan plaid & most shades of green still boggles my mind after a childhood spent in Catholic school. Vivienne will always be one of my fashion heroes. Nice overview! Can’t wait for October’s deep dive 👏👏👏
Same! I wore a plaid uniform for twelve years of Catholic schooling -- but I still love the autumn fashions. I can't do the white button-down blouses, though. People consider them a classic in any wardrobe, but I just had too much of it in my early years :)

Pendleton is great! Recently thrifted a beautiful Pendleton French navy blazer and a long Pendleton coat. Total cost for both $22. (!)

I have been lucky I found in a second hand shop a beautiful striped silk shirt for only 10 euros. After watching this video I feel I can dare a little more. Maybe tomorrow. Thank you! I am almost 60 and last year, came across a COS taffeta skirt that comes to the knee and goes way out! I was crazy about it and wore it with a black sleeveless ballerina necked top, and have also done it the Carolina Herrera Way which is with a white button down… I’m going out to dinner for my 60th birthday in November, and I’m just wondering is there any other really fancy way to do this? Also are really sheer black tights in?
I liked all the categories you picked from the runway except one and that the panty short one that can stay on the runway. as far as I am concerned. This year I am really going to try and get back to focus on layering my pants and skirts under other garments. Also I would like to do a DIY with one of the blazer by just cutting off the sleeves. If you can track down the book "Dressing Up" by Marisa Berenson, grab it! You would find so much inspiration, especially if you like the tulle petticoats and all the layers.
I actually saw that book in a thrift shop recently! Wish I'd bought it. Great examples of 80s styling.

I love pretty much all the current trends & the very exiting & inspiring designers/collections featured in this video - apart from Gucci (😳), that to me quite honestly felt like it was “trying too hard”, as well as somehow being both unoriginal, “superficial”, bitty & all over the place - yet sadly taking me nowhere😕
I know I am being harsh, but I expect to be “wow’d by Gucci and putting my impression in one sentence, it has to be “The Emperor’s new clothes”🤷🏼♀
