Thank you for sharing Hatson! May I know how you use the Heartmath device for your coaching services? We have a similar device that is producing amazing results as well. Would you like to test it? Greetings from Brazil!
I can’t find anything on RUclips that actually explains what heart coherence is. It’s so frustrating. I still do not understand at all what heart coherence is. I could ask my electrophysiologist at my next appointment to show what I need to understand it but there’s not even a video explaining what I would even need to ask her about.
Coherence is essentially a sinewave of HRV measurements that shows that your heart rate is following a smooth pattern of inhalation and exhalation… essentially your heart and lungs are in sync. This has a knock on beneficial effect (via the vagus nerve) on your other organs. Hope that helps and sorry that the video didn’t answer it for you!
The heart rate increases when we inhale and decreases when we exhale. When we breath slowly, deepply and at the right pace (typically around 6 breath per minute), we get "in tune" with ourselves, which is known as resonance frequency (RF). It is unique for each person. At the RF, the heart rate and breathing rate are coherent with each other, and their evolution with time is smooth and well defined. If we breathe at a different rate, such pattern is no longer valid. If we practice the RF for 5 to 20 minutes per day, our emotional resilience improves significantly, and the levels of stress, anxiety and depression are reduced. We developed a system to detect and train the state of peace through heart coherence. Its performance is similar to that of HeartMath's device. In addition, we include other ancient tools to improve the training process, and also a written report after each session is shared with the patient. Hope it helps! @tnijoo5109
@@PhDFernandoCoachhi, is it okay to use the heart coherence technique more than 20 mins a day? and is it okay to use it whenever I want (if i feel stressed 10 times a day, can i use it 10 times?)?
Great question Ilmo! The app looks at how your HRV changes over time - when you’re in coherence you see a sine wave change in HRV that synchronises with breath. The more sinusoidal (and smoother) that sine wave, the higher the coherence.
I have been trying everyday for 3.5 months with a sensor... and still... having a very bad coherence. It's disHEARTening ! Seems like I tried everything for it to work and...
Hi there sorry that you're disHEARTened.. it could be that your technique needs some tweaks. Here's a couple of common tips: 1. Make sure that the sensor is securely connected on your ear. 2. Breathe through your nose at all times. 3. Don't breathe deeply, just a little deeper than normal. 4. Breathe in to your belly not your chest. 5. If you normally do short sessions, try longer sessions to see if your coherence improves. For some people it takes 5-10 minutes of coherent breathing for the nervous system to "get it" and respond. If these don't work for you I would need to have a look at your data and your breathing approach to give you some tips on how to improve your coherence. I do offer one-off Heartmath sessions for this purpose which you can book here: calendly.com/matt-hatson/heartmath-coaching Hope this helps, let me know how you get on. And remember, Heartmath should help you with stress, not cause it!!
@@matthatson Hello, just to let you know that your advice seems to have helped, especially the "mouth closed" one. I had read an article in January that advised to inspire through your nose and expire mouth open and had been doing that diligently since then... My coherence is not perfect but it seems to have significantly improved for over a week now. Thank you for your help! It could have a much more profound impact in the future.

@@matthatson thanks. Could you explain it a bit further? I’m still quite confused. Thanks.

Your explanation was very good. Concise and clear.
How is coherence measured in the app? I know there is HRV chart below, is it based purely on HRV or what?

@@matthatson Thank you very much. I tried at lunch and it didn't work out. But I'll try again.
As with all good things, change takes time...! Keep with Heartmath and you’ll see improvements beyond HRV too

I only speak English!!

Haha good point. Mind you all language is metaphor.
@@matthatson not all languages and english has too many words of other languages ,
All language is metaphor! “Tree” in any language is not a tree…. It’s only a tag to communicate with other people.
When we show your review about niraxx Headband?
Soon! It's taken a while to test because of all the modes.. looking good so far, sorry for the delay!
I was perfectly happy until I practiced with the device.
Sorry to hear that - drop me a message on my website and I’ll help you get started
Love the easily explained !
Thanks Daniela!😀
Very nice video 👍
