Before my Dad died in 10/2016, he had owned 4 seat and 2 seat convertibles all his life. His first was a 1956 Oldsmobile 98, his last a Mercedes’ 2009 AMG 2 seater. This is a great car, and like you said, Tommy, it’s sad to see the near end of these personal luxury cars, and the nearly extinct convertibles. SUV’s may be all the rage now, but they’re not all things to all people..
That is a really good looking car. The inline 6 should be the more reliable option. Lots of little gadgets to break but at least there are real buttons for the climate controls.
Just bought one -2021 I had the 2019 E63 which was super fast but a harsh ride before the facelift model 2020. The E53 facelift model is very comfortable, amply fast & you don’t realise you are in a convertible with roof up it’s so quiet. I had a Porsche Macan Performance on air suspension which was fast & comfortable but for me this car ticks more boxes. Only downside I would swap the noise from E63 & Porsche in a flash
@@andrewffay Read a german magazone which ranked comfort: E450 > S5 > M440i (convertibles). And sportiness M440i > E450 > S5. Question could also be how it is against a 850i
Thank you for the commentary but you are too fast and sometimes I couldn't see what buttons you were touching....can you please please be slow and show us where you are pressing/touching
US and Canada do not require amber rear cornering indicators. However most countries outside of the US/Canada do require them. Therefore it's cheaper to outfit all vehicles (with intended export to those countries) with amber lenses or amber bulbs (if behind clear lenses) in the rear. NHTSA/FMVSS 108
No depreciating toy with acceptable cheaper alternatives is worth $100k. Miata, Mustang, Vette, E550a... this shouldn't sell... we'll see. Maybe there are now enough aging tech wunderkind ex-wives with more money than time to flood Palm Desert with a new generation of Mercedes cabs. This is unknown to mere mortals..
The Hummer is better value for money in this price range. Ask Roman (dad) which one he would pick. Maybe you look cool in the Merc in the 80ties... today is Hummer time.
Sadly this a totally shallow mediocre BS review. Nothing about handling under load or anything about the lean inline 6 design how beneficial compared to any V8s. Better report about frying pans or toasters. But not cars.
I just rented an 2021 E450 for a weekend. I loved driving that big Mercedes with the top down. Drove up in the mountains and it handled beautifully.

There’s always bronco or wrangler
There also convertibles and off-roaders

IMO, much better looking than the 430i and 440i. And it's not just the front.
If it is not comfortable to be in, then that is a deal breaker. Glad you told me that part, I won't be rushing down to the dealership now. lol
It's not bad at all. Granted I expected an E to be more comfortable, but it's way more comfortable than a C43 and especially more than a C63
What more comfy? E53 or bmw m440i convertible?
It is definitely comfortable, don't know what this guy means.

What do you think of this in comparison to the GT 53 AMG? GT 53 an entire different beast or very similar?
How this compare to the 2020 hardtop sl?
Why does it have the older controls for the infotainment? The sedan got the touchpad to replace the wheel.
For some reason the coupe did also
For $95K you get cracked wood on the center console at 7:13 Typical Mercedes attention to detail....
Its a press car. Obv dont ever buy the press car. Its the same as buying a car from a rental company when they are done with it.
@@zachc1297 That part. 💯 😂
Black and brown interiors seems to be a German thing, like in the ID4.
Looking at leasing this
When did we switch to red turn signal in the U.S.? I've owned cars here with amber rear turn signals, which I thought offered greater visibility.

way too expensive, for not much more you can get an AMG E63
The only problem is that the E63 isn't available as cabriolet.
@@magnuskanerfalk9610 I would much rather have a sedan or wagon anyway

Steering wheel looks horrible compared to last gen screams Hyundai! Gloss black reallyV it was so luxury and refined sporty in the last one

"When you're convertibling"??? Not being a grammar Nazi, just got a laugh out if that.

No mercrap is worth 90 bucks let alone 90k
Maybe you're severely confused with the MB's models made after 2001 with those made before. Huge difference.
That was an uneducated comment/opinion.
I couldn't agree more!! in 4 years its 25k
