I don't care about the price, brilliant blue magno is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!
With the sunglasses and that particular shirt and the roof off, the car suits you quite a bit
for this blue, the best combination is the brown/beige interior. I have a 2020 c43AMG with brilliant blue and brown interior and is magnificent!!, Santa Maria Madre de Dios!! :D

One of the best all around car reviews I've seen, and I agree that black interiors kind of don't do a sporty luxury car justice. Tan or saddle brown or beige seems to be hard to come by in the used market, and I kind of have my heart set on a red exterior. Can't help but imagine what a mat red finish would look like. Probably pretty nice.

Agreed on the interior. This color needs a more couragious twotone choice. Something a litte bolder that pops like the blue does. Did you have a chance to drive the new AMG EQS yet?
It feels like you review the E class every other week. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to watch it
The blue is magnificent!!! The internal is the same with the pre facelift but the facelift looks much better. This look works with the AMG models but not the normal E class.
As with most Mercs, the drive train and technology is first rate. However, the E53 that is actually attractive is the Coupe version. This convertible's appearance suffers from awkward proportions. For $105K, I much prefer the gorgeous Lexus LC500 convertible.
The AMG GT Roadster is the truly attractive convertible in Mercedes' lineup. Of course is almost $80K more, out the door. Thanks Motoman.
Thanks! Was shopping between this and the M850 convertible. BMW is $25k more but the lease on M850 is better than a $103k E53. So the payment on M850 is less than AMG.
Issues with E53 conv:
White & red nappa leather is $5k option and production is delayed by 3 months more
No V8
Horrible exterior color choices - where are the fun colors? Grey/white/black and this matt blue are just saturated
Interior choices all black except $5k Nappa option
Issues with M850 conv:
Rear seat is only for small kids
Cabin Noise is more than E53
No massage seats
Yes, the only non-black interior option is this red-beige nappa, and it doesn't quite match the matt blue. Basically if you want light interior, the only possible exterior is red rubellite, all other combinations are illegal or boring.

That Brilliant Blue Magno is “Brilliant” on this Cabriolet. The instant torque from the electrification is impressive. For this price point though I would have trouble deciding between this and the LC500 Convertible. I feel like the resale and future collectibility of the latter would push me toward it. However, the instant torque of this AMG makes the decision a little more difficult.
The V8 in the LC is very highly regarded though, more than this engine actually. Resale is tricky, but neither of these cars are collectibles.
Motoman, are you having more fun in this or a Miata? Just in terms of driving dynamics.
To be totally clear, when you say this has no accessory drive, do you mean these 48-volt starter motor systems don't have a traditional alternator?
Don't the current GLE63s/63s Coupe, GLS63 and GT63s also have that 48V systems?
And the upcoming V8 hybrid 73 series will have over 820 Horse power in boost mode.

Another nice merc no doubt, but at that price and the fact that a chopped off roof is already heavy then to make it heavier as a hybrid. No, and no again. Let's no be fooled the driving dynamics are not gonna go down well when the novelty wears off. If you can afford 100g's just get the real things and forget all this environmental crap.

Great call regarding the interior. Unfortunately, the interior options for this car are terrible with only 1 non-black option. As configured, this car is in shouting distance of the LC500 and, at those prices, the LC is just better. This car is very hard to justify over 100K. It shouldn't exceed low 90s, and they really need to fix the packaging. The interior colors alone kill it for me.
It's still mind blowing to me that people in North America are really considering a posh Toyota as true alternative to a German luxury sports car.. I think the trauma of the low quality American cars in the past left a big hole in the car culture there and it created a myth that still lives on today. The majority of the population on this planet will laugh in tears when somebody will compare a Benz with a To..Lexus. Even the old rich grandma going for a slow shopping session at Aldi :)) As for sporty driving.. performance and Lexus have the same connection like a hippopotamus and ballet. Not to mention what they call.oh well.. "design".
Nice car! Not my type but pleasant enough. Am in partial agreement about the colors. I don't like matte or "satin" finished colors. Gloss, please. And given what we're pulling ourselves through, my mood craves lighter, more cheerful environments including a car interior. No gloomy black, thank you very much.

I think I’d take an Audi rs5 cabrio with the V8, i still love this car tho.
An RS5 cabrio unfortunately doesn’t exist.

Not sure why anyone would buy this over a LC 500 convertible or better yet over a certified 991.2 Cabriolet? I sure wouldn’t.

Detuned 4L biturbo for that type of coin. E580 coupe. Plenty room for new SL coupe
He should have got a snow white car with polar bear white interior...so he doesn't over complain about the black interior...

Only problem with these is that it's a fake AMG
It is not a full blown AMG but it is a AMG. What makes this a AMG is that it will beat most cars on the road and it handles the road well. As a bonus it gets good gas mileage. It is a AMG Lite.
