Corvette, Stingray, Chevy,
I saw the Cuda!
You mean Creepy Cuda? Which is what it's name needs to be! Gosh dang it!
I've been a fan of demo ranch for at least 6 years and creepy cooter can now live on in a creepy car.
Lastly, I love the car content. I'm more of a classic mustang fan but anything car is cool. Nothing better than cars and guns. Both of them are humans controlling explosions!!
The Duke! (after abel names like Earl and Abel, you need to stay the course! I'm going to keep repeating till you hear me)
Ceterum censeo Cartaginem delendam esse
Matt, you gotta make this thing bigger and badder than the Ballistic bandit, I mean u already proved to have the biggest barrel, and them big nuts you have are gonna need some horsepower to move them around lol
This is turning into a great little channel of it's own right. I came here for the Demo Ranch stuff, but stayed for literally all of it.
That is awesome. There is a good DEMO CUDA update coming in the next couple days.
Same here
Prolly most of us are here because democuda and now just sitting and chilling here
So true came with Demo but great content so far.
I concur
He either needs to put actual working side pipes on it or loose those. It just looks stupid and fake with non-working side exhaust on it otherwise its a beautiful Corvette. And the wrath was a great movie! Lol
There was a text pop-up about exhaust cutouts and an exhaust system. If it was _my_ build (as much as I dislike the 1980's 'vette) I'd have the outlet for the cutout going through the sidepipes and "normal" mode going through the catalytic and tail pipes.
@@michiganengineer8621 Here in Georgia an '80 is exempt from smog. That cat is the older bead type and restrictive as hell. Monza had one like it and when I put the headers on (V8 car) I put a ford-type cat off each header collector (back when it had to be tested). I'd also lose the side pipes. But it's HIS car and I always say if it's YOUR car do whatever you want!
@@PhilG999 No emissions testing here in Michigan, so I'm not sure what the regulations would say about taking off the cat. My old Cutlass had cutouts and tailpipes (mumble) years ago, well hidden since in Florida at the time they _did_ look for those modifications. Mine just looked like it had a pair of oversized mufflers LOL
Would have been nice to actually see at least some of the swap.
Content Opportunity......... Missed✅
Those are definitely the wrong emblems for the car but I have a 1980 Corvette as well I so desperately want to redo it she needs some love it was my dad's car he bought it when I was 8 years old and I rode home with a minute and couldn't see over the dashboard I'm now 35 and my father passed away 8 years ago this August would love to finally upgrade that car and do it the way that he always wanted it done
The Stingray is like a timeless looking car, doesn't age at all!
not Stingray but still a vet
How do you post a video at 4:00am and I'm still the 1000th viewer? lol
that wife sounds like a keeper!
Sounds like she's the real treasure!
“Oh it’s my wife hold on” This is true reality folks.
It is amazing how little power the smog police allowed us to make back in the day. Well done with the swap!
Pretty paint job which deserves an awesome motor.
Yes it does!
Please tell Paul you don’t need PD tv ( phony drama tv) we’re loving the way your doing it .keep up the good work ,
While you are absolutely correct (I hate reality tv), a healthy dose of skepticism is not misplaced here. On any machine 40+ years old that untold number of folks have worked on, often one thing is fixed only to uncover others ... refer to starter cob-job... Our phrase in the shop wasn't "let's see if it starts" it was "What gremlin did we just release"
At first I was all like, "Nooooooo! Keep the original engine!" But ... yeah, if that much has been replaced / refinished elsewhere, and some jackhole made it a fire hazard, eh, never mind. Replace away! LOL
Good Goddess I loves me them Sting Rays. Those curves! I still can't decide which year/style I like the most, but one day, one glorious day, I aspire to find a rats nest Sting Ray in a junkyard and revive her with an update to e v e r y t h i n g to be modern, including making her a plugin gas/electric hybrid tuned for performance with all of that electric torque. And paint her with chromatic paint that shifts colors depending on how light hits it to show off all of her sexy curves. Why? Just because. Just. Because.
Now it's a beautiful vette. Nice clean job. I'd also like to see a little more of that, was it a Shelby, in front of the vette in the beginning. Thanks for some great content.
poo poo pee pee haha funny
She’s gonna be a ripper! Cool that he got his childhood dream car! Also.. cool wife! Good video! Can’t wait to see more! I think everyone wants to know more about that Shelby Daytona too! 👀🇺🇸
I thought the same thing when I saw that! Lets see the Daytona. Gotta be a kit. If its the real thing that is a big $$$ car!
@@michaela4370 it’s a superformance car for sure
My man uploads at 2am and still gets 1K views in under an hour, awesome stuff though!
never clicked so fast on a video
ThAnks for showing us bad ass cars with out the drama
I'm 46 and I had a bootleg beta video of the wraith for so many years. Love the car. Want the car.
Very cool. Making everything wrong with the 80's RIGHT! I also spotted a Daytona coupe in the shop!!
Good looking car. My one complaint is the side pipes...use em or loose em. Two side and two rear just looks funny. Loving the channel!
You guys keep hitting it out of the park with the superb content!!
Great 80's movie. Although they made all those cars look fast. Chrysler paid movie...lol
Wait what about that greys Shelby I front of the orange dart I think it was a dart but please show that Shelby it’s one of my favourite cars!!! Awesome video btw.
Ok nice car, but IS THAT A COBRA DAYTONA (if thats the correct name) IN THE BACK? That oval shaped back end looks oddly familiar
It is a Superformance Shelby Daytona. I'll do a video on that one soon.... It's bad ass.
I had a 450 whp 72 c10 with a 383 and that big girl weighed twice as much as the vette, that thing probably rips
C3's are great looking cars, but those smog motors are terrible. Super job guys on giving this corvette the power it was always meant to have!
I have one if those sitting in my garage also with the original motor but mine has less than 50k on it. I'm going to restore it some day. Yeah I went 120mph in mine stock so 85mph doesn't cut it.
was that a Shelby in front of the Stingray
Lol, figures the og’s are the guys that know how to use a timing light. Car still have points in it. Nice wheels
That Vette looks roudy as hell!!
Any advice on a 71 demon finding parts it was my dads car he got it almost new when he graduated high school he was alitte rufe on it and the rust is worse i did get it running again looking for a good start point and place to get body parts without spending my retirement
1977 and up corvettes were no longer called stingrays. It’s sad but true
Upgrade that radiator especially on a Vette they love to over heat. Also I hope the owner is smart enough to put away in the back corner of his shed the old numbers matching motor.
Probably should be careful about showing ppls license plates
This channel is growing so fast. Awesome work guys.
Please show the Daytona Coupe Cobra, my dream car!!!
Tips. from a mechanic with 42 years under the hood.. anything with a carb and a mechanical fuel pump.. gets a 1984 corvette fuel filter before the pump inlet.. so the pump only gets filtered fuel.. if you need a filter with 5/16 hose barbs.. use the filter for a 94 ford probe.. both of those filters are 10 micron and it keeps the sediment out of the fuel pump check valves. this prevents fuel vapor lock ... extended cold cranking.. impossible hot cranking after stalling at low speed hot.. and fuel trickling out of the throttle shafts after shut down.. is the only fix.. i have been doing it since 1983..
dead stick timing HEI distributors is Crazy simple. after the distributor is down on the oil pump shaft.. bring the crank to what ever base timing you want. look at the pickup coil poles and the reluctor poles.. turn the housing to align them.. lock the distributor down right there.. i did a 86 C4 TPI pickup coil.. i had preset the crank so the timing mark on the damper and pointer were at base timing . verified that the reluctor and pickup coil poles aligned.. pulled the distributor.. knocked the shaft out.. swapped in a new pickup coil.. dropped the distributor in.. bumped the engine around to seat the oil pump shaft.. bumped the starter till it got back to the exact same spot on the damper timing mark.. turned the housing.. locked it down.. finished reassembly.. reached thru the window and turned the engine roared to life.. the owner was sitting there watching me intently. how did you do that.. i have never seen anybody ever turn the key and start the engine without turning the distributor back and forth.. i looked at him and said this is why my boss paid me the big bucks.. i pulled out the timing light and jumped the AB terminal to allow me to check the timing.. dead on.. 15 before.
one more thing. search out the carb specs.. see what size the Idle feed restrictions are.. usually out of the box carbs are 0.031" idle feed restrictions.. that is too small for most 383.. it will really wake up the car if you try it with 0.033" idle feed restrictions.. 0.032" works great on 347 thru 360.. get into the big blocks.. 427, 428, 429's need 0.035. i drilled them to 0.036" on a bored out 429SCJ and the owner could hardly drive it.. any tiny opening of the throttle and the rear tires would start spinning.. the idle feed restrictions are the only fuel from idle to around 1800RPM when the primary boosters start trickling.. the idle feed restrictions slack off totally as the primaries take over totally about 2400.. look at steady throttle air fuel ratio at 1700 or 1800 rpms.. if its lean and the primary boosters are not trickling yet.. go larger on the IFR's
the Grey corvette at the beginning title could use some smaller accelerator pump shooter size and perhaps some IFR work.. should not be blowing black carbon smoke just winging the engine..
be sure to set idle speed and idle mixture with the primary throttle blade closed as far as you can.. open the secondary throttle blade slightly. so the primary throttle blades don't uncover the more than a tiny amount of idle transitions slots..
I wish I knew about you guys before I had to work done in my truck
Vette is great but the Shelby in Front of it OH MY GOD !!!!!
What I was saying. LET US SEE THE CAR.
Very soon!
@@MuscleRodShop please 🤤
Im Not the first
I like how it has side pipes and tail pipes lol.
That's 2 into 1 into 2 cali smog regs
Was wondering the same thing. Guess it was more show than go.
To Troy,
I don't know you or your wife but with all due respect, I love her. Just watched the Wraith not long ago.
Channel is doing well
DAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGGGG thats gorgeous 😍
Cool Build!! gotta lose that old school cat and replace it with a couple high flow cats so that thing an breath! :)
it needs an exhaust that sounds wimpy
Fake side pipes? No, say it ain’t so!
I know this episode was about that 80 Corvette, but was that a Shelby Daytona in there too? Such hot ride!
I seen that too .. I was like nobody say anything about that sweet ride
I came to the comments to mention that. Please tell me you guys got some footage and pictures of that for a video.
It's coming soon!
doodoo
My cuz put a 383 in an 80 vette and it’s a rocket ship
Sick ass car
i love 80-82 body style and that's a super clean car but why put badges on a car that claim it's something it's not? an 80 vette isn't a stingray or a sting ray just a corvette
Great job guys!
Troy is an accountant guaranteed.
So when did you get the 2 post lift? There were zero lifts & Matt arranged the 4 post lift. So wtf?
The fab shop area didn't have a lift in it. The other part of the shop did.
Not surprised to see those fusible links....I REALLY HATE fusible links....I've removed all but one so far on my '89 Chevy truck.....the last one is minor and if it goes, no biggy, doesn't stop the truck from running, LOL...nice build, can't wait to see it completed....
Killer work guys
My Favorite new Channel. Sorry Matt...lol. Shouldn’t have brought in the cuda...
i used to work at a locksmith near a "small Italy" was taking a lock apart there was green gunk thought it was chewing gum . older partner nah it olive oil.... i saw it many time after they lubed there lock with olive oil
No Drama Paul! Lmao

Godspeed
The only thing better than your videos are you meteoric rise in subscribers!
GOD BLESSED YOU!
Wait! What happen? I had a Geometry teacher that always told me to show my work. You could have made a 5-10 part series of the work. I feel violated! LOL!
Seriously though, I wanted to see the wotk, busted knuckles, head aches and Texas engineutity to the solution and final out come.
This was too Yankeeish. But still good though
Looks convincing, but 1976 was the last year for the Stingray
In GTAO try metallic anthracite black with blaze red pearlessence. It looks amazing in direct sun.
Awesome job guys. That starter wire was so cringe. Love the channel 👍 just an idea, I would love to see some of the wide body and custom body work alot more. U guys have a way of capturing "sinister seduction" I call it. Just sexy and mean all at once and the builds u guys do separate themselves from other custom shops. If I lived in Texas u guys would regularly have to make me leave. Keep up the great work.
Dude! The Wraith is one of my favorite movies! That's awesome! The Dodge M4S in that movie is one of my favorite cars.
When ya gonna let us know about that Shelby Daytona in front of the Corvette?
I got a '80 Vette while on leave from Iraq in '06. Unfortunately life happened and I had to sell it. I will get it back though.
After viewing the under the car video portion, it's no wonder the car isn't making any power. Exhaust from the manifolds into a Y pipe, then into a single factory catalytic converter, then branching out to a set of dual pipes exiting out the rear. Any bets that a 40 year old converter isn't clogged?
That poor Sting Ray has seen a number of owners cobbling together a mish-mash of personal touches. Sounds like the poor girl was a red head orphan step child. Non functional side pipes with Corvette stenciled down the length, the bronze see through roof and the multi-colored interior.
Give it some love guys. She's going to need it.
Love the rides
Did you know Corvette is the name of the smallest size of Warship, one step below a frigate? Changed my perspective on these guys. Little hellions they can be :)
Support 🇺🇲👍
If it doesn't already have them, he should strongly consider a stoptech or baer big brake kit conversation and pilot sport 4's. Then suspension upgrades, preferably coil overs but that's up to him for ride Vs handling
Saw the Demo Cuda!!!
His wife has to be a gold digger or the most amazing women out there to TELL HIM TO BUY A CAR
I might have my car movie's wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the Wraith car was an experimental Chrysler?
That lite fiberglass shell of a car with 485 HP, is going to be scary to drive.
He is going to get himself in trouble, I hope he has some self control.
**LOVE THE 1980 VETTE**
+1 for The Wraith. How long until you put a Cummins into a Interceptor?
Corvette died in the 80s. They went from beautiful cars to ugly piles of plastic. The paint job on this one looks horrible and ruins what little there is left of the good design features in this car.
Ive always wanted a C3 Corvette. someday if I'm lucky i guess.
That's the one that needs the truck dually frame and a new duramax engine set in it. I'm not much on gm products but I like corvettes.
He mentioned The Wraith, well he did have a vision that the engine was being ghosted from the car.
Did enjoy the film back in the day, even if it showed cars being destroyed on a regular basis.
So, the side exit exhaust is fake. The "Corvette" stickers need to come off those and make them real! Cool project though.
Nothing worse than a beautiful car with a dog for a motor. I've bought a ton of them over the years because they have to be the cheapest car deal you will ever find.
So this guy basically wants to turn his vette into what your dad has - cool! You know you guys are doing right when people want to copy you.
Scary electrics bodge jobs.
We find that a lot.
I could be wrong here but I think videos need to be 10 minutes long to have ads in the middle, thats how you make your money lol
Sounds like the car and wife are keepers. Unless she takes over the the car. LOL 😂
So no LS? Came here because planning an ls swap into my 80. Anyone done one?
Are you going to show us that Daytona?
Coming soon.
(6:50) you guys saved a sweet looking car from certain death by fire! geesh, that car could've burst into flames every time it revved the starter!
2:18 that's... that's a type 65 Coupe. That there is my dream kit car.
Wish my wife was ok about me buying an 80 stingray..
I don’t understand NOT going with a blown lt4 or ls3
I’m waiting for the real classic muscle cars the mustangs
it is corvette but not stingray last stingray was 76 or 77 model!
