- If you had to choose one color chironomid pupa to fish or to start exploring new water I would recommend black and red, a black body complimented with a red rib. The Black Sally fits this color selection philosophy to a tee.

another great pattern I've used this one with very good success myself.
sparkle yarn...nice...I have yet to see this in the shops but will have my eyes open for it

Hello Philip, Great pattern, you didn't say if the bead was tungsten or not. Thanks for sharing. Black and red were my High School Colors and have always been favorite colors, though not because they were my school colors. I also like orange and green. TMI I know, couldn't help it. Sorry. +Sean Mooney Hi Sean, as I fish chironomids using a variety of techniques I most often use brass beads. If I only fished my patterns under an indicator they would all feature tungsten beads.
