I have never constructed anything, but with this video I have the confidence and some knowledge to begin. I will definitely do it. I have been wondering if jointing is necessary at all since the construction will be followed by plastering which covers whatever jointing is done.

Great video for beginners. I noticed on construction they put small strips of metal every 2-3 rows, what is this for?
Ladder wire just supports the blocks better
The ladder wire is to stop step cracking along the mortar joints.
