I cannot get enough of this man!!! I'm working on five years myself and cannot agree more that by giving and helping others is the greatest way to get and STAY sober. Every interview I have ever seen with Danny he says the same thing, that everything good that has happened to him is a direct result of him helping others.... there's a lesson there for anyone paying attention. I met Mr Treo on the set of "Jake's Corner". My wife and I were two of the biker extras and were waiting for the next take in the bar. He walked in, sat down next to me, punched my in the shoulder, and asked how it was going. It wasn't much of a conversation, I'll admit to being a bit star struck. But he was one of the nicest guys I've ever met, very down to earth. I found out later he and my wife had a much longer conversation down by the horse enclosure, he kept treats in his coveralls for them.
As I hear more of his life stories, I gain even more respect for him.
Oh ... And my bike got paid more for being in the movie than I did....

I'm privileged to have him as my grand sponcer.
You know, even though Danny Trejo isn't a mega-star(though extremely well-known) and has subpar acting, that takes a real backseat in my view.
I've always been a fan of his guest roles in big screen cinema.
That being said...the most I respect about him, is that- he's a Hispanic from the hood, grew up hardknock and was a blue-collar labor.
Had his demons of drug abuse and violence, served his time in the pen for his faults, and yet, got out and got his life back together, and is one actor, that you just do not see on the news being a nuisance.
And myself being of Latino decent, it's AWESOME to see a fellow Hispanic American rise above the struggle and have a successful, prosperous and happy life!

I've met him a few times. He used to be a drug counselor back in the day. My parents had him as a counselor in the 70's also my uncle hunch build his bike. Or at least one of them.
