The 3DB/6PM/5AD news theme on 0:24 was used on Radio Hauraki in Auckland New Zealand in the 80's and also 1XX in Whakatane in the late 80's (albeit slightly remixed) . In 1990, the news theme got remixed and used by Hauraki, and said remix version was used in countless NZ radio stations (mainly local) in the 90's and 2000's. 1XX used the remix version (which replaced the 80's version) since the early 90's and are still using it today (but only on public holidays e.g. Easter and Xmas).

You may be aware that the theme in question comes from a 1980/81 series of Rhythm of the City by TM Production of Dallas. I obtained the cut when it was included in a set for 3DB Melbourne. I was unaware of its use by 5AD. Do you recall when they were airing it?
@@thehack8607 No, I was 21 years old, and I wouldn't have remembered that news theme back then. The Radio Vault has old NZ radio airchecks/stuff etc, you should check them out.
Some of my favourites still out there 'undiscovered' are the quick 2UW news sounder in the early 90s; the lovely original MIX 106.5 news theme, 2WL Wollongong had a great theme in the late 90s, as was 2WS Sydney's long-running classic 90's news theme. Oh yes, 2SM as Sydney's Hottest Country had a great news theme!
God I remember soo many of these especially the 2UW Funtastic ID/news theme near the start. Still love it. The news theme at :24 for 3DB and 6PM was also used at 5AD Adelaide. Is there any way you could send me the clean copy of this theme? Do you have any other ones from the 70's that 5AD used?
Other Aust/NZ stations that used the news intro in: 0:16: 7AD Devonport in 1978. 1:07: 2RG Griffith in 1978, 2ZP/2ZH Radio Taranaki New Zealand in 1977, and 5DN Adelaide in 1977. 1:14: 3NE Wangaratta in 1974/5.
