I have high hopes for it Annie, they have gone the extra mile to make it usable for a few bigger plants, like toms or chillies. Have a great, not too windy, weekend!
I'm liking it! It would be great for anyone without a garden as such, living in a block of flats for example, and for anyone who just wants to grow all year round!
You can also take a knife and slit down one side of the sponge to make it easier to put anything in. I've never repotted a plant that was started in potting mix into the machine before but I've used the slit method to fit bigger seeds into the smaller sponges.
Good idea. Something to bear in mind next time. Never had a problem transplanting compost started plants into hydroponics, this is just the same as my outdoor units only smaller. Have a great weekend!
Hi Steve At first I thought you was unpacking an air fryer 😂😂😂😂😂 Looks a great bit of kit for bringing on seedlings. Will be interesting to see how the tomatoes get on. 👍👍👍👍👍
Getting a bit on the windy side later tonight, Ali, but not as bad as previous storms (oh why did I say that LOL). The good thing is, it has brought in a wash of warm air, up to 20°C in some places tomorrow despite the rain.
Great review Steve. I think for us during the main sowing seasons, it would take up a bit too much room for two plants but i like the idea of hydroponics and can see this working for over wintering things like F1 tomatoes or chilli's.
Hi Steve, when you say about the stickers going on the top of the container for the plant, is it the sun/light that makes the surface go green? I generally water from the base but sometimes I water from the top as I can see it's quite dry. Now, is it a matter of continuing to water from the base & leaving for a while to soak up the water for my seedlings. Sorry to babble on, but I just thought😮 I would ask you. Are those stickers reusable? Seems a shame if they are not, could be a question to ask, I know the pods you use are combustible but, again I thought I would ask. Very posh Letpot, like the front display as it makes it easier to keep an eye on the units performance. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Yes, just like on a pond, the sunlight causes algae to grow. Not a bad thing really, just unsightly. Many of my Jiffy7 pellets are covered in green. Usually best to water from the base anyway to stop splashing up onto the leaves and spreading any diseases etc. No, the labels are not really reusable but they are included with other Letpot sponge refill kits as maybe they will be for this model soon. The display is good and it's a pity I could not show it better when explaining its operation - the button symbols are easy to see! Have a great weekend Christine
Do you think these things really give an advantage- with the number of plants needed for allotments I think your grow lights look good and would perform better overall. Or am I missing the point compjetely😊
Indoor hydros like these are add-ons if you already have a garden and they provide year round crops. Of course if you have no garden then they supply all of your fresh salad leaves etc. I've never really used mine to start crops off to transplant. Have a great week Bea.
not the sort of thing i would dare to put in the bedroom. ( the only place i can grow without complaints ) i need to get seeds to germinate first. the only seeds i seem to be able to count on are those from your club. shop bought? crap.........................brian
Thanks Brian. I have had more bad packs of seeds this year than in all my time gardening (I reckon) - shocking results with some. And, unless the seeds are very fussy, I can't blame the composts!
Hi Steve,
Always like a review. Will be interesting to see how the Letpot system performs.
Have a great weekend
Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱

🐝Thanks for the great video🌻 That looks like a fun little gadget

@@DigwellGreenfingers So for me ;) I dont have a garden at home
You read my mind on that second plant pot by cutting it before putting in the plug plant 😊
A psychic connection LOL

Great looking bit of kit there Steve. Looking forward to seeing the results!
LetPot seem to do a great job with these kits 👍🌱👍
They do seem to be ahead of the game, like with the 2-pod platform!
Have a great weekend mate

👍👍👍👍👍
I do like the autamatic function. I'll give that a go when the toms are done, but it will be some months away!
Hi Steve nice bit of kit when you unboxed it it looked like an air fryer 😂😂😂 have a good weekend 👍🥔🌱
An air fryer come hydroponics system - off to the drawing board LOL
Have a great weekend buddy
Nice piece of kit Steve. Lots of fine control. I think I would use the small stations most, ideal for lettuce etc 👍🏻
I will be using the 21-pod base later Nigel. I've just used the 2-pod as I've not seem anyone else do it LOL
When you unboxed it I was convinced it was a hifi system😁.
And someone else thought it was an air fryer 😂
That is a cool controller Steve. It will be interesting see how it performs. Take care.
Looking forward to some early tomatoes!
Have a great weekend guys
@@DigwellGreenfingers we'll be watching! Always love early tomatoes ...
Hi Steve looks like another good product.👍👌🙏
I want to see how long I can grow these tomatoes for 🙂
😂😂 you just said it 🤦♀️ hope the storm doesn’t do too much damage, stay safe 🙏, Ali 🌦️

I want to see how many toms I can get from the 2 plants and if I can extend their growing season a bit, fingers crossed!
@@DigwellGreenfingers Ok cool. Good luck. Will be interested to see how your experiment goes!
Hi Steve. I’ll appreciate if you can let me know what size of plastic hose you are using for LetPot automatic mode. Thank you.
I think the pipe supplied is 6mm (the transparent pipe in the video) but I have not used it.
Hope this helps
Is this the largest model as a bigger one might be better for spacing out the plants.
Yes, the largest. I've done toms in other hydros before and they were medicore at best. Hopeful with this one 🙂

Which micro green company do you recommend
I use Grown Local for many of my microgreen seeds link below. Also Moles seeds for some that GL do not stock.
