    Checking in again after some time away for another of what’s becoming a small tradition. Every few months come back and check out the progress you’ve made on the project and binge watch all the episodes I haven’t seen yet. Excellent work as always! Keep it up! See you in a few months!

    Having been away for some time, I now had the pleasure of watching two parts at the same time. What a treat! Your detailing is, as always, unique and sooo enjoyable. I also agree with Dan Heaton below. Of course this car will be a museum showpiece.

    Nice discussion about the rear engine mounts! I was watching and reading the subtitles during breakfast and RUclips referred to your engine pad as an iPad. The world these days!

      @MikesRestorations  5 лет назад

      Thanks Tom..Ha Thats weird on the iPad not sure what would cause that

    Great work Mike, by far the most in depth and detailed restoration videos I have ever seen. Appreciate the insight. I will be keeping an eye on the wiring video as I have just started my own restoration of 1969 model will take far longer than yours as I am based in UK.

    Hi Mike. Did you recover the harness tabs? If so, what with? Thanks for all your efforts ....

    • @MikesRestorations
      @MikesRestorations  2 года назад

      Hello eljimberino
      Yes I did recover those tabs..The original sleeves were vinyl tubing but I opted for electrical shrink tubing.
      A little bit of heat and they seem to tighten up nicely
      Cheers!

  • @guzf344
    @guzf344 5 лет назад +1

    Excellent Mike! Your 20 minute videos seem like 2 mins to me! On the 80's cars the sound pad is glued. Over time the heat destroys the glue and they sag. Is the pad just held in place on the earlier cars?

    • @MikesRestorations
      @MikesRestorations  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Gary
      Thanks
      Thats a great point! Yes most likely the original pads were contact cemented in but with the constant heat de-lamination is only a matter of time. This design is really a press fit fairly ridged and perfect form fit.. I cant see it moving even under extreme conditions..
      The original was quite a bit looser
      and was sagging at the top when I pulled her out.
      It also had a mouse nest in it..ewww!!

      Mike M Thanks! Thats great to know. I’ll have to see if Aase has one for later models. Mice just love 911s :)
