I asked the same question to myself, but i just practiced for like an hour or two with constant mess ups until i learned how it goes over the thumb. Its not hard if u put effort into it.
It was supposed to go over the thumbs? Welp I just wasted an hour of my life.

Basic trick :- Just spin the pen slowly and grab it when the tip almost cross the thumb with index (try for atleast 30 mins)
Try with pens which are thin

i can't even let it go my brain just keeps telling me no
i've noticed that for previous videos you've paid great attention to detail with the outfit worn and the type of pen used. instead of using a dr grip, a crayola colored pencil or a grey stalogy pen would've been better imo
but it doesn't make a huge difference really
