TF:A Blurr was almost that anyway, aside from being a coupe instead of an open top. Mind you, I'd love to see that rereleased or given the Legacy treatment, as long as it's more LGC Prowl or Dtrongarm rather than Bulkhead or Arcee.

Thankfully they didn't try to give a David Hasselhoff head/face. Definitely buying this. Loved the show as a kid n my first muscle car was an '84 Trans Am. Had a '78 Camaro a few years back also. Nothing beats having your car as a Transformer
Agreed. I prefer that he has a helmet that just evokes the 80s slick hairstyle, and the visor referencing both sunglasses and KITT's famous red bar/flashing screen. And the blue waist/thighs help break up the black with a homage of jeans without trying to look LIKE jeans. It's very well done.
Trying to look too much like a specific character and not just iconic details is what ruins the second Jurassic Park set for me. But I don't mind it so much for resembling more fictionalized characters like the Dracula and Frankenstein Monster figs, or Party Whallop (though he still should of just been Metalhead!))
Thank you! That’s all I see on every facebook and instagram post but that would’ve been so much worse. Every collab borrows from the source character’s outfit, and we have the communicator watch. If he had hair and clothes, it would be so ugly
The are likely saving The Hasselhof sculp for a Marvel/Nick Fury crossover.
If you leave the button pressed down he turns the light bar on and it stays pulsing from side to side for a few minutes

So much nostalgia with this one... not only does it bring back so many memories of watching Knight Rider as a kid, but the transformation scheme is reminiscent of original, 1984 G1 Autobot cars like Jazz, Prowl and so on (flip down the hood, spread the doors like wings, make the back into the legs and rotate the waist). All very '80s!
And I absolutely agree - if the make a transformable Batmobile, it has to be the 1989 Keaton jet-engine-on-wheels version. Having that huge turbine on the chest like Hearts Of Steel Prime and those huge front fenders as shoulderpads would look awesome!
Next i hope Hasbro will do an Airwolf transformers figure.
When i was a kid, i was hoping both knight rider and Airwolf would do a crossover episode together, but that never happen.....

Not digging the HUGE battery compartment, BUT : TRUE FACT! KITT was seldom shown with his headlights popped up, and it was later written into the writer's guide for the series to have his bumper lights used instead. THIS according to the Knight Rider Historians channel.
I wonder why they preferred the bumper lights? Pop-up headlights were one of the coolest things about 80s cars IMO.
I assume maintenance/tech issues. They are cool, but very inconsistent, and I could see them being an issue keeping things consistent in between cuts..@@ShinGallon

KITT had T-tops si it actually makes perfect sense for his roof to not match the rest of the body.
I wonder if it's possible to polish the plastic somehow to give him a more real-world shine regardless? Not buffing the plastic down, but using some sort of wax or actual polish on the car bits. Because I'd honestly do that with every car alt mode in my collection.
I never thought they'd turn KITT into a Transformer. I'm just glad he's an Autobot.
Well yeah, they can always do KARR as a Decepticon if they want (with the supreme irony of having Peter Cullen's voice for him).

Well, there were two version of KARR, the first one looked identical to KITT. But KARR has an amber scanner where as KITT’s was red. When they brought KARR back, he was silver on the bottom.

To be fair the name K.I.T.T. was short for Knight Industries Two Thousand, so Agent Knight works well enough.

Pretty sweet collab and very prowlesque transformation.
This is my all time favorite Transformer and I don’t even have home yet. As a life long fan of Transformers and Knight Rider this a dream come true. I bought a couple of Transformers to try and customize into KITT. Thankfully in a month and half I’ll have the real thing instead.

Imagine getting a knight three thousand KITT which was the Shelby Mustang from the 2008 series and had the voice of Val Kilmer and a highly modified Attack Mode. That series also had Peter Cullen voicing KARR. That'd be a cool transformer toy

I was watching through and before i saw the transformation, i was just thinking "oh god, that looks like the terrible Slids mold we don't want any more repaints of, but hasro keeps shoving down our throats"
Love that they got the introduction voice clip in there despite it being a bit longer. For all the people that didn't know (or remember) that KITT actually abbreviated something.
Another nice touch is that in giving him weapons they look very similar to ones Michael did use over the course of the series.

Lights and sounds in a non-3rd party Transformers toy? What is this, the late 90s? I do kinda wish it didn't bulk out the front of the car or was removeable for a sleeker look, but that's a nitpick, I still love this. KITT has been near the top of my Crossover Want List since they started doing these. Love that G1 style box (they really never have topped that box aesthetic, have they?) as well.
The transformation not being a overcomplicated nightmare could be a thematic throwback to the simpler transformations of the 80s figures if you wanna get really meta. Personally I like it when transforming a figure doesn't require 30 minutes and an engineering degree.
The roof was sun roof so the shine is pretty accurate.

I'm personally disappointed Hasbro didn't make KITT's robot mode look like Tracks as a homage to "the Transformers" episode "Make Tracks" where the show copied "Knight Rider" with Raul was Michael Knight & Tracks was KITT.

The cartoon made Raul look more like Michael Knight by giving a black leather jacket in the episode "Autobop".
Missed opportunity to call the robot mode Hyper Pursuit mode and he really should have been called KITT

Awesome review as always. Love K.I.T.T. & can't wait to get my pre-order. Always loved watching the show as a kid & still watch on occasion. Make an MP optimus in the foundation colors to go with Kitt. I would love to see an Enterprise (original or D) done, probably Titan class, but not a clue how they would do it.

This might just be me but they had a missed opportunity with the face. The visor could've been like his scanner while the mouth could've been a mouth plate with audio visualisers like the one inside of him
Must be the limitation of LEDs. His visor would need to be moving left to right and the head is very tiny.

also seconding someone else saying you can hold the button for a few secs and it'll turn the light on for a little bit. Really can't wait to get my hands on my copy in December.
The 3rd gen Firebird which Kitt is, is the same body/car tht MASK Thunderhawk is. Thunderhawk is a 3rd gen Camaro & the only difference really is the wheels & bumpers. The Camaro & Firebirds shared the same frame, doors, fenders, roofs, hatch, & quarter panels. An obvious repaint would be Thunderhawk which Hasbro owns. The rights from GM to make Kitt should extend to the Camaro Thunderhawk is.
This one is way better than the GI Joe crossovers. Like it a whole more than the HISS Tank Megatron and so on.

This KNIGHT RIDER crossover is screaming for more entries. KARR is obvious, but there is also the semi-truck Goliath. If you stick with Goliath as seen in the show he is a cab-over truck so starting with a G1 style Optumus body get you most of the way there.
Like the idea, but since they use Optimus for EVERYTHING, how about a Motormaster repaint/varient?
@@wileydeloach2666 That's a good idea, the recent Legacy Motormaster would be a great starting point. It would be cool if the designers could figurie out a way retain Motormaster's trailer for a giant form without the Stunticons.

IMO a K.I.T.T. transformer should be enginnered so that It can be piloted even in robot form, wich means keeping the cabin as a solid block.
A couple of other crossovers they could due is the bus from Speed and the van from Scooby Do.
The Firebird and Camaro was the same body put out by GM for many of years. So I figure with the Firebird along with the Pontiac division being ended in the 2000s. If they still made the Firebird, KITT and Bee would be that close of not closer to scale.
My opinion anyway, I’m more of a Mopar person, the B-Body of the 60s and 70s more specifically.
