Just now getting to the video, thanks for posting! I have a new build home where my spigot may be attached to pex with the pex crimp. Need to replace the spigot, but it's going to be tough since I am on slab and will likely cut into drywall to see the connection.
Learned the same lesson as you this year. Turned the water on and it sounded like air in the line and low water pressure. Turned out water was going in to our crawl space instead. 😂
Electrical tape over the logos. Instant LIKE. Also, 3 wraps of teflon tape is the way to go. I tried 1 wrap at the end tapering up to 2 wraps at the shoulder... LEAKED! 3 wraps did the trick!
I know a lot of people use Shark Bite connectors but I dont fully trust them. I really like the crimp connection better. Especially in a crawl space....😮
The reason you have to use a wrench to remove the hose is because of galvanic corrosion between aluminum hose end and brass spigot. Do yourself a favor and either spend the money for hoses with brass ends, or use a plastic adapter between the hose and the spigot. Learned that one the hard way myself.
great video. however i would probably not use shark bites. they are easy to use yes, but you do get call backs and are alot like gambling, they tend to drip, leak, and just plain fail. so i would avoid the head ache and either weld it or use pex clamps.
He’s my good buddy actually. We’re married to women. We do work together a lot, and typically we get mistaken for brothers. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! 😁
Thank you for this video! Trying to fix this problem currently with my anti frost faucet, although I have all copper piping. Could you fix the faucet neck instead getting a whole new one?
Dang, I’m sorry to hear that! My only suggestion would be to cut a piece out, maybe to the closest joint, and replace it with a longer piece to give you some more slack in the line. 🤷🏼
I'm never using SharkBite anything ever again. What a pain in the arse when those things fail. They're very convenient until you have to re-fix or maybe repair water damage.
@@DIYWoodntYou We have good pressure inside but little pressure with the sprinkler outside. I am running 165 ft of hose so maybe that is resulting in the lack of pressure at the sprinkler.
This is not true. It’s for convenience/aesthetic purposes but code does not require the traditional red to hot and blue to cold. Red on a hose line is perfectly fine.
God I love having a basement instead of a crawlspace. Nice work guys.

I am doing this to my leaky faucet this week, thanks for making it look easy.
Good luck with yours! It definitely helps to have friends with experience and the right tools. It wasn’t too bad though. 👍🏻

Thank you for solving my problems. My husband did the same thing. But he didn’t even drain the hose.
Use a splitter and leave hose connected to one side and the other side open in the winter.
Thank you for this! I made the exact same error because my hose is also in an awkward position to attach/detach, so I left it on.

I’m from California. This is now my second year in Oregon, hello water in the walls lol
Great video, guys! Thanks a lot!

Teflon was wrapped the wrong way 🤔,but hey its not leaking so all is well !
I thought that too but he did get three wrpas
Great video!
I was stupid and did the same thing
Thanks!
you and your husband are a great team and a cute couple.

I'm here because I left the hose on my frost free faucet.
Shut off is also on the. Water tank

I gotta go through the living room wall to fix lol
My spigot turned off constantly leaks no water stains inside the house, but it leaks from every where outside.
I noticed my front yard hose bib won’t actually spray water unless I slightly loosen the anti siphon cap… is that normal?
@@DIYWoodntYou oh that’s perfect! Thank you so much for your help I’ll definitely watch that video :)
I looked at the comments and no one said anything about the other faucet you opened. Did you ever remember to turn it off or is it still on ?
Ah shoot! That makes sense why my water bill's been so high!! Be right back!
What is that sharkbite connector size?
It’s for 1/2” pex.
The ppl who installed mine didn't leave any slack in the pex, any suggestions on how to add length?

I’ve never had to deal with a SharkBits failure. I’ll make sure and check it occasionally. Thanks for the insight!
Great video, but holy shit the loud music at the end I was wearing headphones and about blew my ear drums
@@DIYWoodntYou Thanks so much for making this video! It was exactly what I needed and I can happily say the exterior faucet is fixed!
Do these frost free faucets only turn about a 1/4 of a turn to go from off to full on? That's how mine works and I'm wondering if it is faulty.

@@DIYWoodntYou Hopefully that's not the case with mine. :-) Thank you for your responses.
some are 1/4 turn but others are full turn. 165 feet of hose is a long way for the psi to be maintained if it's going uphill.
3:31 lol or use your bench vise
True…but then I’d have to walk all the way to the shed. 😂
Hello im stupid. Good video
How about a mobile home. Same.?
Wrong color pex. You will have to take all of it out and replace it with blue.
I don't think the color matters..
LOL
Too funny, red for hot, blue for cold - true dat but it works the same either way.
