    I agree with Fahd, I wouldn’t say “non traditional”, maybe just non wrangler.

    Always enjoyable to see what a GC can do off-road. Thanks.
    Please consider doing a video of a list of top easy trails for loners/first-timers with the best views, in the country that you've experienced. Thanks

    These platforms are very relatable. I am also independent suspension on air ride and it gets me anywhere

    5:49 is the exact reason I went with 17s with 33s. Those bumps hurt sometimes, and an extra couple inches of cushion makes a big difference

    What is often overlooked are videos highlighting truly stock vehicles. Most off road channels, will say watch 'stock' vehicles on ABC trail. When you watch the video, the 'stock' vehicle is one that has a two inch lift with MT tires and the latest high end bumper with a winch.
    Maybe consider having a trail ride for stockers. Many have no idea of what their stock vehicles can do and may be intimidated in tackling off road conditions. Who knows, maybe some of those who attend will become off road warriors.
    My wife and I are not off road warriors, but enjoy tackling FSRs in Mannistee Natl Forest or the light off road trails in Colorado or UT. We stay off extreme trails just because if we suffer severe damage, we simply couldn't replace our Cherokee TH.
    We live in a heavy lake effect snow area, so every winter --- except this year so far --- we get to test the Jeep in real world extreme snowy conditions:-))

    Always pushing the limits with the Trailhawk. It just goes to show how well made our rigs are based on the continued abuse you put the WK2 through. 👏

    The thing I’ve found to make my wk2 way more capable off-road is to just go with Prodigal Overland on one of their trips.

    Non-traditional? The WKs? I'd say, among others, that they have been around already long enough, proving themselves on all sorts of circumstances and terrains on their off-roading prowess and technical abilities, in the hands of both newbies and veterans of off-roading (like the Kresges) and not only, that these Jeeps are now (deservedly)...TRADITIONAL!

    I thought the Grand Cherokee was a traditional off roader. Yeah it's no wrangler but it sure can hold its own in the hand of a good driver.

    • @ProdigalOverland

      It’s probably still underestimated!

    • @paulmcarroll59
      @paulmcarroll59 2 года назад +1

      The newer ones, can't jack them up and put huge tires on them, or drive underwater (very long lol) . But, underestimated? Under-rated? That's and understatement!

    Having to be so careful about lines in these type of vehicles can be mentally exhausting on the difficult trails.

      Definitely not for the lazy minded. Requires considerable intelligence, planning, strategy... patience.. and willpower! And a good spotter!!😎

    @ 4:40 the mistake was letting off the gas... Our jeep's trans/dif is designed to be controlled by the computer, it will adjust for that kind of slippage and get you over that obstacle. Just gotta stay in it.

    I had a 14 JGC Overland with the eco diesel and air suspension. Never again for either. Loved the platform for the road and trails but the air suspension is a double edge sword. I appreciated the extra clearance that it provides but the lack of articulation and harsh ride were terrible. And stay away from the EcoDiesel at all costs. It was great before the emission changes. Totally ruined how it drove. Terrible turbo lag and dealing with the def and particulate regen was horrible.

    So are you on Jeep's payroll yet cause they are stupid if they don't start including you in their marketing? You do more for the off-road GC capabilities than anyone else, and you're definitely the reason I got mine.

    The interesting aspect is that a stock vehicle is actually harder to wheel, so it requires expertise, and a super modified vehicle is more capable and can allow the driver to be less skilled. It’s unfortunate though that new/inexperienced/uncoordinated drivers usually have stock vehicles also. So really the vehicles are way more capable than the drivers, and if you get stuck, it’s likely the drivers fault.

    Mostly I enjoy your videos but they are to long with way too much preamble. How about some short sharp posts that deal with interesting technical issues without all of the padding.
    Cheers,

    How do you think is it worth to trade wk2 trailhawk to 2022 grand trailhawk? What do you think about front electronic sway bar disconnect and that the 2022 grand trailhawk QD2 “may!” disconnect the front axle on highway on purpose to fuel economy? It scare me a little bit, will it be long term reliable both those features?Thank you!

    • @ProdigalOverland
      @ProdigalOverland  2 года назад +2

      It’s a bit tempting. But they didn’t say how much more articulation the sway bar disconnect will give you.

    What do you mean non-traditional? You have a TRAILhawk! That's LITERALLY what it's made for! Maybe, you don't see a lot of them in Iowa. I have an Overland that spends more time offroad than on. They can do a lot more than what I've seen you do on this video. You are only struggling because of the limitations of your driving skills.
