Wow ❣️ can't believe he's been gone for almost 16+ years. Miss Peter Jennings . I grew up watching him. He was and is the best ❤r.i.p. we the entire world 🌎 miss you nightly 🌙 😢
I worked at ABC Radio News in New York and Peter did a brief commentary each day. His nickname in newsroom was Stanley Stunning, because of his good looks. Peter would host a rather lavish Christmas party in a select Manhattan restaurant every year and come out in a kilt! He was always encouraging to young people starting out in broadcast journalism. And I treasure the autograph he signed for me, prefacing it with, "There Is a future!" He certainly ranked right up there with Cronkite and Brinkley and took ABC News to the top of the heap... with a nod to " New York, New York"!
Had Peter still been alive today, I would have loved to seen him interview people like Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Putin, and others who love to cause problems in America and the rest of the world. I know he would have picked them apart to see what made them tick.
God it's 2023 and I feel like Peter Jennings Was too soon followed to the grave by the whole network network mechanism he worked for. ......... I mean Don Lemon....enough said...... Now housewives get their news from The View and Joy Behar. Everyone else is internet/ tiktok. That whole dinosaur is gone.
Despite doing anchor work in the 60s Peter was not considered a leading candidate for the weekday role when it became sole again, unlike rather & brokaw he was an intl reporter who had to take some time to be familiar w/ us politics, he left us early and how it happened it’s something don’t like to hear but it’s certainly a lesson for others
4:46 and so interesting to hear this local news person say about gulf war coverage ‘the local affiliates didn’t belong there’ bc i felt bothered recently when a local anchor where i live say the name of Ukraine’s leader as Vladimir instead of Volodymyr - I thought boy this guy’s shamefully ignorant (but I guess that’s what happens living in a less dense part of the south)
3:51 its interesting for me to hear Peter regretting abcnews doing certain stories better left to local news only instead bc im someone who believes isolated incidents should be just covered locally but those who run natl outlets see benefit to catering to true crime diehards
Such a well spoken and thoughtful journalist
I miss the eloquence of Peter Jennings. He gave such thoughtful interviews.
He was class. I miss him.

Peter Jennings a top-notch journalist and the GOLDEN VOICE of the news!

As a viewer looking back thru this I see that whole set w/ Peter & the background sign ‘abc news New York’ I’m like man that was the heyday
He was a beautiful man inside and out and had a grace about him. I miss him.
The runtime being 9:11, if intentional, is brilliant
I miss Peter Jennings

RIP Peter Jennings
The Greatest of all the Greatest. AMEN.

Rip Peter Jennings
No more authoritative network anchors these days
Refreshing not to hear about government publicity stunts in golden days of news broadcasting
RIP Peter Jennings, David Brinkley, and Barbara Walters.
Just think he was 54 here.

If anyone ever asks me who I would want to have dinner with, living or dead... My answer is Peter Jennings.
