    I have 135K miles on mine and not a single issue on this whole motor other than a cracked exhaust manifold at about 115K. Which is why it's fiddna get a Jay Green Cam and valve train along with some Stainless Works Long Tube Headers WITH cats and a tune!!
    I have never in those 135K miles, 10 years, shut off the MDS. And most of those miles are highway, so it's always working. And as I stated, it bears repeating, I routinely get 20.5 to 21.5 mpg at 75mph over the course of 100 plus miles. I've gone 550 miles a couple times before filling up traveling cross country.
    So I'm not too convinced that the cam tick/ abnormal wear is connected to the MDS

    • @Josef_R
      @Josef_R 3 года назад +1

      It's a well known issue. Just because you haven't experienced it, doesn't mean it's not.

    • @NoVoice71
      @NoVoice71 3 года назад

      @@Josef_R I was replying more on the front that this seems to be a trend on these pickups that people just turn it off. I guess I'm not understanding the perspective from the angle of turning it off for the sake turning it off....you like like the dumba**es who delete their catalytic converters, in a street, daily driven car?
      Over the course of 137K miles now, I've gotten an average of 20.1 mpg, that's after factoring in all the towing and hauling I've done. So, from my perspective, the mds is an absolutely bonafide fuel saver. Having said that I Will miss it once I cam it, slap some full length headers on, tune it and throw a torque converter in with a trans tune.
      I'm more of a driver that listens to all the mechanicals going on while driving, I like hearing the mds working. Just my take, not anything to do with experiencing faults or not. I've driven too many miles for too many years to expect anything to work correctly, ever. But I expect my equipment to work, all the time

    I have a Bully Dog tuner for my third gen ram hemi, I notice a huge difference in performance when I use the 93 octane tune. Not too sure how Bullydog compares against the Diablo tuner. I know my ol' fat girl comes to lifes and sounds meaner and works way better. My 0-60 is hard is in around 7 to 9 seconds, depending on the surface. Stock I think it 9 +. @@billknight5578 it's a plug in shift pressure booster. It takes about 1 minute to install and 5 minutes to learn the shift points. It tells the ecm that your shift pressure is too low and it boosts it. This makes a way better, firmer, and quicker shift...the way they should have came from the factory. I would think that it would help the clutches to last longer since it takes the "slop" out of the factory transmission. Best $40 I have spent on the truck, honestly. If you go to my channel, at the bottom, there is a video of a quick 30-80 pull, with the posi rear breaking the rears loose at almost 60mph. It never did that before the Sonnax.
