Ok, I have to be honest. This was a semi random click for me. I searched for Careful With That Axe reactions and clicked on yours by random. I had no idea what to expect, I didn't know what I was watching, but I caught on half way through. All that said, this is a great reaction that made me smile. I love that you thought of dinosaurs with Roger's iconic screaming. It was pretty cool too that you thought of the whispering as the voice inside of Eugene's head. I've been listening to all of Pink Floyd for 40 years and never put that together. What I really love about this reaction is the absence of pretentiousness. You aren't well versed in The Floyd, and you just said what came to your mind with no preconceived notions. Well done.
The footage is all of the volcano in Pompeii, which covered and annihilated the city during the holy Roman empire. They performed in the Roman coliseum (it's remains anyway) in 1971 there and shot a ton of footage of the surroundings, so there's not deeper meaning in terms of visuals. The song it's self is just meant to invoke horror; a departure from their usual messages. I can't remember if you've done it yet, but their song "Echoes" from this same film is must see as it marks the turning point from the improvisational soundscapes of the Syd Barrett era, into the Pink Floyd sound we are all familiar with. Dark Side of the Moon was being constructed and recorded during the time of this film. It's in two parts as the song itself takes up an entire side of an album: pt1 ruclips.net/video/Pm7cm-IGE3Q/видео.html pt2 ruclips.net/video/p89kAp4rzBE/видео.html
Patrick Rasmussen I forgot about that. The city was under ash, frozen in time. The footage of the volcano works well with their music. We did do Echoes but it wasn’t the full version. I didn’t see the second part. Thanks for the links.
