Anyhow its clear that the logic behind the naming of "One X and Series X" is that the "X" means "premium" console while they are most likely gonna name their cheaper, all digital, possibly less powerful console as "Series S" and the "S" is gonna now and in the future mean more affordable, bit less powerful, all digital console. Atleast thats my take on it.

I bought the original Xbox with the giant ass “Duke” controller in high school and it was the very first game console I owned myself. It was the greatest thing ever playing Halo on it with friends all system linked lol. Rough patch of RROD 360s until they finally fixed the issue with the 360S. Got the XBONE at launch and hooked the Kinect up to it once. Was starting to lose faith and played around with PS4 Slim. This time round I’m all in on the Xbox Series X. I hope, and it seems, MS has realized this is a gaming machine not a waggle toy casual game cable setup box lol. No motion control, VR headsets and less “tiles” lol. Just a super computer crammed into a black box with a comfortable controller for those of us that want 4K60 quality games without the hassle of building and maintaining a gaming PC. It seems like they have doubled down on gaming with the amount of studios they have been gobbling up. Long live the box! Halo, Fable, Gears I want it all lol. After snagging my preorder, I went into my Xbox Live Profile to update all my info and realized I’ve had my Gamertag for almost 18 years! So long, in fact, that the originally attached sign-on address is still my hotmail address haha.
I played the 360 with my older sister but I never really owned one I currently own an Xbox one as PS4 and gaming PC but if I wanted to get any of the new consoles I would go with the Xbox Series X so I could have the new Bethesda games and Halo plus I always thought xbox had smoother gameplay compared to playstation

Sure, but even that has some difference, and the key factor will be how effective their SSD will perform to certain tasks. The design for both console are strickingly different from basically simple in one area, while making it standout and futuristic on the other, one is a wide boy, while the other is a tall lad. For the PS5 we do know some good games coming out for that console, while we have yet to see a proper presentation of a Xbox exclusive Xbox Series X games showing proper gameplay.
I was in line to buy an Xbox on launch day, November 15, 2001. It was an awesome day! Also bought an Xbox 360 at launch. But skipped Xbox One and switched to PC gaming. Glad to see Microsoft making first-party games for Xbox and PC. I'll stay with PC, not buying a Series X, but I'll always love Xbox, and I'll always remember how great it was owning that original Xbox. :)

The system delivered on it's promises! It had more 4k titles than xbox Seires X because Series X started having higher fps over resolution.

Well there were two S versions of 360 as well, yet those are not counted here either, cause they were more or less the same as the original model, except for the looks and bigger hardrive. One X ofc was pretty much entirely new console.
Pretty much it comes down to: If you love single player games and exclusives buy the ps5. If you are a hardcore multiplayer fan that values power, performance, and a numerous amount of gaming subscription services plus UI usability, then go Series X

Microsoft sure knows how to make a sexy looking console.

The first Xbox I bought was the Xbox One, and it was the only one before I came to PC gaming, man I loved that thing, at was amazing back then in 2015!
I believe the design question was, "How do we make this controller fit in someone's hands?" rather than, "How do we make this controller sit in someone's hands?" There's a big difference between those two questions. As we saw, the Duke was designed to fill and fit in a person's hands. That didn't turn out to be the best thing to do, especially since smaller-handed people would have trouble with the Duke, and Microsoft knew that from the start, seeing as how a smaller controller (later named Controller S) was made for the Japanese market.
I have pretty large hands. Not huge but above average. The duke was just awful. (And it seems I’m not the only one who thought that) GameCube controller was too small. Anything else is just fine.
Marc28031984 n64 was the worst. Why does it have three handles including a middle one with a thumbstick on it? Are there a large number of people I don’t know about with an arm sticking out of the center of their chest? The world may never know.
The Series X OMG, I'm so hype, with the Alan Watts speech (one of my favorite philosophers) and the video, that ''monolith'' that look like a high end server/PC. I love that since the X, Xbox is back to his roots as a ''monstrously powerful machine''. The original Xbox was this beast, so heavy, like a PC, far more powerful than any other console of that gen.
Xbox 360 felt so passionate and awesome. A testament to how epic the early and mid 2000s truly was!!! Everyone was just so full of spirit from 2002-2010 or so. And then.. you see xbox one, just soulless.. bland.. you knew we were entering the dark ages. Halo was dead, call of duty had jetpacks, the xbox community was divided!! Some had the new xbox one but couldn't really play or communicate with those still on the 360... everything good was gone and everything bad before was thought of as "eh its not that bad".. We havent left this dark time yet sadly.

loved the xbox. had upgraded my hdd to a 80gb and loaded custom boot os with a crap ton of emulators and roms. could also rip xbox games rented from blockbuster to computer then send through the network to hdd on xbox. good times. xbox sucks now.

As someone who played Xbox and Playstation consoles but skipped Xbox One because of how clueless Microsoft were at launch, I'm looking forward to seeing the Xbox Series X reveals in July. Not sure which next gen machine I'm going for yet (price will be a factor too). Glad to see Microsoft seem to have their shit together again.

The Series X OMG, I'm so hype, with the Alan Watts speech (one of my favorite philosophers) and the video, that ''monolith'' that look like a high end server/PC.
I love that since the X, Xbox is back to his roots as a ''monstrously powerful machine''. The original Xbox was this beast, so heavy, like a PC, far more powerful than any other console of that gen.

Xbox 360 felt so passionate and awesome. A testament to how epic the early and mid 2000s truly was!!! Everyone was just so full of spirit from 2002-2010 or so.
And then.. you see xbox one, just soulless.. bland.. you knew we were entering the dark ages.
Halo was dead, call of duty had jetpacks, the xbox community was divided!! Some had the new xbox one but couldn't really play or communicate with those still on the 360... everything good was gone and everything bad before was thought of as "eh its not that bad"..
We havent left this dark time yet sadly.

loved the xbox. had upgraded my hdd to a 80gb and loaded custom boot os with a crap ton of emulators and roms. could also rip xbox games rented from blockbuster to computer then send through the network to hdd on xbox. good times. xbox sucks now.

Xbox one x was so hype. We knew it was coming for a whole year so the anticipation and excitement was very high. And damn seeing so small was surprising because I thought it would be like the original xbox one size. They manage to make it smaller than xbox one s!

I still remember the day when I first got my Xbox, It was my 10th birthday 7 years ago.
Man does the time fly. I got my 360 over a decade ago, and to see where we are with the Series X is truly amazing, I'm so grateful for all the experiences and memories I've made over the years. Who knows what Xbox will be like 20 years from now!

As someone who played Xbox and Playstation consoles but skipped Xbox One because of how clueless Microsoft were at launch, I'm looking forward to seeing the Xbox Series X reveals in July. Not sure which next gen machine I'm going for yet (price will be a factor too). Glad to see Microsoft seem to have their shit together again.

The original Xbox 360's design is gorgeous IMO. Best looking console ever. I loved my elite until the day it went RROD hahaha. Still an Xbox fan and totally in love with the Series X design aswell. 2001 vibes.
