@@amorallyambiguoushomosexualAlthough (if a demon did,) it's not what you and I would call *dancing.* Not good dancing anyway. A demon moves like a white band on "Soul Train."
My three mistresses and I dress up in much the same way and dance the Gavotte extensively in my palatial garden. After this, we retire for Ricard and petites fours and then some ‘togetherness’. Mais oui ! 👨🦰
this is how all rituals should be performed. wedding? perfect trick or treating? why not exorcism? got you covered seriously tho this is impressive. im here for academic purposes and i tried to follow along and everything i think is just more complicated than it seems
I looked this up souly because my sister and I argued over what the gavotte was and because she claimed it ended with a kiss, I was sceptical, the o me reason ether of us knew the dance by name was because of good omens.
They do in some places! Look for "vintage ballroom dance" societies (particularly of the 18th century) in your area, as well as "English country dancing." It's not always exactly the same, depending on the dance community, but it can be pretty darn close -- and a LOT of fun. If you live near a city of any size, there's a decent chance there is one.
I was curious about this dance so I watched it after I read the part about Aziraphale learning the Gavotte. Out of curiosity I looked at the comments for and comments about Good Omens. Literally all the comments are about Aziraphale 😂 I love this fandom.
I came here thinking that maybe one or two comments would be about Good Omens, but apparently there are a lot less people here for classical baroque dancing than I thought.
I'm here because I didn't know what a gavotte was. I thought it was the cramp you get in your esophagus when you eat ice cream too fast. It's like a heartburn brain-freeze in your chest. It hurtz.
I'll forgive the modern instrument, but why on earth didn't they use music which matched the dance? The beat in the music is across the beat in the dance.
I learned this once in a “discrete gentlemen’s club.” Pity no one does it anymore.
Aziraphale, is it you?
Pity that.
There’s probably some demon out there
@@amorallyambiguoushomosexualAlthough (if a demon did,) it's not what you and I would call *dancing.* Not good dancing anyway. A demon moves like a white band on "Soul Train."
came here bc of Carly Simon, stayed for ineffable boyo
Came to the comments to see if anyone was here because of Good Omens
Same lmao
bLACK wINGED bIRD the answer is yes
YesAH
Same bro. Aziraphale is a weirdo.
I'm here because of You're So Vain.
Aziraphale
Yeassssssssss, I hope they show him dancing it in the show
@@arol1644 ;)
Lol one of the dancers is called Jennifer Fell and Aziraphale's book shop is under the name A.Z. Fell and Co. Coincidence?
Apparently I'm a much more predictable Good Omens fan than I thought I was
This was in your recommened too eh?
Everyone keep in mind Aziraphale learned this at a gay club
Emma G he didn’t. It was a discreet gentleman’s club in Portland place. This has NOTHING to do with being gay 😈
@@nfzed Gaiman says it was this club: www.lgbtarchive.uk/wiki/Hundred_Guineas_Club
Nils Zeddies lmao the club is a lgbt club , its called the hundred guineas club
That is quite permissible.
I need a video of aziraphale dancing to this tune. That sunshine!
Martin Sheen having the time of his life dancing the gavotte (and grinning like a moron) was one of the funniest things ive seen in quite some time.
@@mrredherring2900 his look of pure joy is so soul soothing!
I can only find the version where Aziraphale dancing has Rednex added into it.
Also reporting in for Aziraphale!
came for Aziraphale too
Oh wow, the energy Aziraphale radiated has brought so many people here
good omens fans here
Thank you
Yes

So?
The dance looks so cute and graceful in the same time! It's really matching Aziraphale
no one:
aziraphale:
Crowley: nap time
I'd die for Aziraphale honestly
I'm living for all the comments about Good Omens
Hello my Good omens fella, how are you?
all i can think about is aziraphale in his 'discreet gentleman's club'
Nobody:
Azirafel in the head of a pin: 💃🏻💃🏻🕺🏻
I keep remembering that part where Crowley threatens his plants to keep growing nicely. Haha I love Good Omens it's so weird.
It's like being a bouncy little cloud, playing with other bouncy little clouds.
Here for both Good Omens and a research paper *mainly Aziraphale tbh lol*
Here for aziraphale
Such lovely times
There's two people in this comment section with your profile picture
We need to revive this dance in clubs.
Specifically discreet gentlemen’s clubs
Now I have to go find out what Good Omens is.
I don't watch television.
Ooh, I do love Michael Sheen and David Tennant though.
please do read the book as well, it is well worth it!
I love seeing all these Good Omens comments in here omg
Just wanted to know how they danced back in the day... now i learned some guy named aziraphale danced to this at a gay club?
Yes that is exactly what happened, you need no further information
It also answers the question of how many angels can dance at a pinhead at the same time. The answer is: one, as long as the dance is a Gavotte
90% are here because of good omens (including me)
lol yes.
Me too haha
We are such dorks 😂
I can't believe everybody came here because aziraphale lol, beautiful dance btw
It's so graceful yet so awkward- such a unique art!
Just like Aziraphale himself

Now dance something you wouldn't call "good dancing" so I can dance like both Crowley and Aziraphale
I came bc Aziraphale xD
Everyone else in the comments: KFJFKDJG GOOD OMENS
Me, trying to research classical/baroque music:
Honestly I wish people still danced like this! I'd actually be able to keep up😂
👏👏👏

Yep... I'm here because of Aziraphale too... 😩 💕 😇
manifesting aziraphale
Great example of gavotte dancing. Will be using this for reference in my playing of gavotte en rondo.
Came here because of the Carly Simon lyric, "You had one eye in the mirror, as you watched yourself gavotte." Needed to know what a "gavotte" was! 😂
Same 😂
Me too.
WOW! I like how they don't rush the dancing.
Gotta learn for zira
Beautiful dance. Very elegant and intimate yet fun at the same time
I’ve danced this dance. The steps are deceptively tricky.
Here because of Carly Simon." You're So Vain". 'As you watch yourself gavotte'
Right!!🤭😆😂 Great song and fun to sing out loud 👍🏾🌷🌹❤️
Same! 🤣

It's almost like a game - knowing all the proper moves
Aziraphale what are you doing
I came from Carly Simon, "You're so vain," where she says, "you watch yourself gavotte.."
I never would have guessed that A. Z. stood for Jennifer.
Ugh I love these outfits
I'm here because of Carly Simon and actually having the lyrics to You're So Vain. :)

This is the Martini version of Gavotte. Have a Martini, shaken not stirred.
im only here because i looked at the thesaurus for the word dance
and now i know the word gavotte

"You had one eye in the mirror as, you watched yourself gavotte"
Great lyric
Carly Simon's song You're so vain brought me here
So this what’s on the NYT’s spelling bee today and what Warren Beatty did on a yacht.
this song was not written by Johann Paul Aegidius Martini is was written by Padre Giovanni Battista Martini.
Pure beauty!
