It was in the episode he wrote for Glee in season 5. It's called Old Dog New Tricks. Kurt and Rachel get into a disagreement and Kurt says he's done being Rachel's friend when it's convenient for her
@@kimberly11091 I never said they didnt make up. Have you seen the episode? He explicitly said she wasnt a good friend to him which is true. One of the worst mistakes the writers ever did was replace Kurtcedes with Hummelberry. She treated him like her side kick and token gay.
@@reina2081 jeesh, why does everything have to be about him being gay, or Mercedes being black or Mike & Tina being Asian? Rachel's just an awful person. He also did a much more experimental and innovative audition for NYADA. She royally fucked hers up, he didn't, yet she gets to go and he doesn't. I ask myself that every day. Even her slightly redeemable and likable qualities are easily overshadowed, not to mention she’s a very inconsistent character.
Suzanne Cap, the school is only willing to cut a student enough slack. Rachel is all out of favors to ask considering how many the school has already given her. 1) This is not High School. High Schools are encouraged to have all of, if not a good majority of their students, pass with an HS Diploma. Colleges? They assume you're a grown adult who can manage your own schedule unless something really out of your control happens. Also, if something DOES come up? Just like in the working world, it's on YOU to go up to your supervisor/advisor and say "Hey, I'm sorry, but this happened and I need to change this and that/I don't know how to make this work, can you help?" The advisors/supervisors are not mind-readers, if you don't go to them, they'll rightly assume that no news means it's all good and nothing needs changing. Likewise, YOU DON'T GO UP TO THEM WITH A HUGE NEEDED SCHEDULE CHANGE AT THE LAST MINUTE. Again, this whole thing is on Rachel not going up to her supervisors in time but rather at the last possible minute. 2) Rachel is only at NYADA because she badgered Carmen to get in, NOT because she gave the audition of her life or because she reacted properly when she chocked (the correct thing to do is to continue on and finish your set as best as possible, same as you would during a live show, because a show paused in a time-out is DEADLY). She only got in because Carmen did her a FAVOR. I wish the show had had the balls to have Carmen tell her no, that she was NOT going to give Rachel preferential treatment, if she wants another chance she can audition in the next year until she gets in LIKE CARMEN DID. So that's a MAJOR FAVOR Carmen already did for Rachel. How many other equally talented people auditioned and chocked as well and so lost their chance that year at the school? Hundreds, I'm betting. They probably either went to another school or they waited for the next year to audition LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. What? Are we supposed to think that Rachel DESERVES special treatment or that these other people are lesser. Puh-lease! 3) Carmen explicitly informed Rachel and the audience that Rachel was failing ALL of her classes. If she was a brilliant student who was excelling or even an average student that was doing OK but failing one class, that'd be one thing. But failing ALL of them? At that point, you can't just pin it all on Cassandra or the other teachers (considering that different teachers have different styles and personalities, duh). Obviously, something is up with the student in question. The advisors would help a student that is doing ok, but one that is failing every single class? At that point, it makes people wonder why they'd even bother if the student doesn't even want to try AND is now even asking for an extension. All of the above tells me that the school has already given Rachel a lot of preferential treatment as is and Carmen decided enough was enough.
"After you get what you want you don't want it, if I gave you the moon, you'd get tired of it soon. You're like a baby, you want what you want when you want it. But after you are presented with what you want you're discontented." I'm still surprised no one's sung that song to Rachel yet.
@@caseyjl949 'After You Get What You Want You Don't Wan It' - I think it's a Sophie Tucker song from the 20s and I know it was covered by Marilyn Monroe at some point but I first knew it when it was sung by someone else as a cover on the soundtrack for 'Boardwalk Empire': ruclips.net/video/YZEDM96cXtQ/видео.html
Also, some of the most prestigious Broadway thespians have most definitely been able to balance schoolworks and performing during their (often struggling) debut years.
and she still somehow found the time to go to Kurts performance. And I'd just like to point out that if she and Blaine had just performed solos as the assignment required in the first place then they wouldn't have this problem anyhow. Her giving them a chance to perform again was extremely generous.
Ivonne Vega oh they are great best friends stop it 😂 all best friends argue that’s what makes the friend ship grow stronger that’s why Rachel and Mercedes are close
The writers made a choice...because Santana was right, it's the Rachel Berry show, and at the end of it all she gets what she wants. It's my biggest complaint with this show.
Ivonne Vega I’m so sick of everyone saying Rachel is a bad person she’s the best character on there and hummelberry are amazing friends so would you all seriously stop, yes she was wrong here but everyone argues so I’m begging everyone to stop 🙄
Rachel has the nerve to accuse Kurt of refusing to grow up? Who is she to talk? She quit NYADA because she didn't like the workload. She's in no position to complain about let alone accuse Kurt anyone else of not wanting to grow up.
Quitting NYADA wasn't a stupid choice, Funny Girl was her DREAM role, not just some random role. It would give her the experience she needed to get other roles on Broadway, something she was paying thousands of dollars to get at NYADA. The stupid choice was not committing to Funny Girl and throwing it away for the TV show.
Hey, Carmen called it. All Rachel cares is the spotlight. As shown when she abandoned Funny Girl for the TV pilot without even telling her producers or directors. Carmen called it, that attitude wouldn't get her far anywhere, no matter her profession. Eventually she would crash and burn from her burned bridges. This is especially egregious in jobs like in Broadway, which is a relatively small community where everyone knows each other and they KNOW who are the troublemakers that cost money by being irresponsible/impossible to work with. Those sorts? Don't tend to get steady employment or roles because no one wants to put their trust or their money in a flacky asshole.
Madame Tibideaux had experienced the dizzying heights of Broadway then became the dean. Yes, she's defo not a failure. She has more credibility and status than most teachers/lecturers. Rachel was being an irrational brat.
" A failure like Carmen Tipideux"....seriously? Has she forgotten all they talked about Carmen Tipideux in 'Choke'? I seem to recall Rachel and Kurt saying things like "She's performed on Broadway" or "most demanding roles in the worlds greatest opera houses".....how is that a failure? And how is being a dean of a university a failure either?
Yeah. Plus in this universe Nyada is a super exclusive school so it’s not like she’s the dean of a local, community college, which is still a respectable position imo but Rachel is a horrible, conceited diva so of course she doesn’t see it that way.
Personally I think Rachel’s mistake was quitting broadway. I think it would have been fine if Rachel would have taken a break from school then returned after she made money from broadway.
Kurt is more grown up then Rachel since in high school he was bullied and toke a risk and stood up for himself and saved a guy and got beat up in the process
I'm lukewarm towards Kurt's character, but I have to admit, he went above and beyond trying to help her. He is right, it's very hard to make a living on Broadway alone (especially if you're an impossible to live with diva), to the point that Broadways stars do gigs as guest-stars in TV shows and the such for extra cash. And mind you, this is with Broadway equity helping with the bills. I would've just given up and let her ruin her life by her lonesome. She's not my daughter, not my responsibility. If the only way she can learn is after burning her bridges and crashing, life is a good teacher. Funny about the not taking risks part though, considering that she kept on using the exact same techniques that she used in HS during NYADA and wouldn't learn anything new without someone literally hitting her over the head with new skills. If she can't take constructive criticism, she's right, college isn't for her, but neither is a career on Broadway which REQUIRES their actors to learn from constructive criticism (same goes for most professions really).
How he told her the message doesn't detract from the fact that he had solid advice. For all that Rachel put on the offended act over the "last role" comment, this isn't an insult so much as a possibility no matter her talent. There are highly talented Broadway stars that go a long time without getting a role on stage and so need to get a day job and/or work in TV gigs or take bit parts in movies to help pay the bills. Rachel's talent might be good and, to quote Carmen, a dynamo. But she's not the only dynamo in town and chances are a dynamo who is ALSO better at dancing and acting than Rachel while being just as good a singer? Higher chance of that happening than you might think. Any performer will tell you to know your own value, sure, but also don't get cocky and assume there's no one with you exact talent-set, because there are plenty of people just as talented and hardworking as you. He is right, Broadway is not only a very fickle business (even stars that are always on demand like Idina Menzel need to supplement their Broadway income with TV gigs or movies) so they can't rely on it solely as their number one source of income as is (therefore any Broadway performer will tell any hopeful to get a degree to be able to pay the bills), there's also the fact that Carmen's comment about "Do you want to be a part of this community?" is very valid for something as relatively small as Broadway. Yes, there's a lot of Broadway hopefuls, but the ones that stick to it and somehow make a profession out of it are small. The Broadway/musical community of professionals is about the same size as the opera one, it's not as big as the TV and movie industries. As a result, most of the professionals have either worked together at some point or know of each other because their community is very insular. Carmen and Cassandra could've very easily derailed any chances Rachel could've ever had at Broadway simply by informing people within the community that Rachel was a diva who couldn't take constructive criticism (which wouldn't be slander, it's the truth, they'd be describing her) and poof! No director would want to hire her. They wouldn't even need to go out of their way, people would ASK them since the community is that small. The fact that they didn't or even took her back after all the crap she did is solely due to Deus Ex Machina, in real life Rachel's epilogue would be her celebrating years of working to get off the blacklist paying off. I've been to film festivals where HIGHLY talented actors and actresses essentially shot themselves in the foot by acting like divas who act all offended if someone says "I love your performance, but I think your scene here could've been better thanks to X" (which, again, in the acting community is essential to get honest feedback so you can become better and so get more jobs) and some directors saw said actor/ress get all huffy about it and react with "Yeah, never hiring that person, as if we want the extra problems that diva will bring." In short, it doesn't matter how talented you are if your attitude marks you as a possible future problem on set, because the directors can just choose to go with the equally as talented person without the diva attitude (yes, they exist). Again, I'm sorry, but I don't care if you think that Kurt was being too harsh (and mind you, there have been times I found him unbearable), but this time he was being as gentle as he could while trying to impress on her the realities of her future profession. So no, as a non-Kurt fan and therefore with no dog in this race, I have to say that he was a little too gentlemanly with her.
Kurt never takes risks? Uh, Rachel, let's take a look at you and Kurt's NYADA audition. Kurt: Had a performance ready to go then SWAPPED in the 11th hour to a completely different one, and CRUSHED IT. You: stuck to your same old song, Don't Rain On My Parade. Results of their auditions aside, I think the song choices those two made speak volumes about their characters and who has taken more risks.
Education is most important thing in life. With NYADA degree Rachel would have future roles starring Broadway. If I were Rachel, I leave Funny Girl even though it’s my dream role. I know that education is matter the most than a role. Also there will always be Funny Girl.
Or I would have tried to work it out with Carmen from the beginning itself, rather than inform her prior to opening night that I need special considerations.
@@NairAthul Bruh, all Rachel had to do was keep her grades up. If that was the case she would have been free to miss the Showcase. If she hadn't been underperforming in her classes, Carmen definitely would have been more open to negotiation
Kurt was totally right Rachel really wanted to go into the world without a backup plan or an education just to fail miserably and instead of learning from her mistakes the writers still give her a happy ending. The thing about glee was every characters was flawed (except Mercedes she was flawless) but when they made a mistake or did something wrong they were shamed or made fun of but still learned from their mistakes but when ever Rachel made a mistake another door opened for her to get what she wanted. Example. Rachel drops out of college (which she’s not even paying for) to pursuit her career in broadway (which is fine) but she didn’t have any backup plan so when that failed she gets offered a tv show and then when that fails she gets to start all over again and gets to go to college if she wants and gets a broadway play, all for her to win a tony in the end. She literally learned nothing. AND STILL GOT WHAT SHE WANTED MEANWHILE SANTANA AND QUINN DIDN’T EVEN GET AN ENDING
'Avoid the fact of having to grow up and be an adult.' This is hilarious coming from the girl who a few episodes later decides that playing Fanny Brice, a huge, coveted role in broadway, is no longer good enough for her and proceeds to almost severely damage her company's reputation by faking an illness so she could go to another audition. Only because everyone has to bow down to her and her wants and needs.
sorry Rachel that Kurt would rather go to a prestigious school from where he could better cement his own future in Broadway, and also she really didn't think this through because not only did she get a second chance to audition afterwards only to leave to join a crappy TV show but she also got her second chance at an education at that fine institution. I'm finished.
This is where you can really tell it's a fake ass tv show and not based on real life because she got to insult all of her friends and people she worked with, quit and rejoin everything whenever she pleased, and never got her ass beat or some humility smacked into her
We all know someone like Rachel in our lives, and we all know this isn't exclusive to just theater kids/Broadway wannabes. They're the most insufferable. Poor Kurt.
I can't believe that Rachel actually believes that rubbish she's spurting. She's sulking, and is acting like a swollen-headed little girl who won't listen unless she's told what she wants to hear, that's the end of it. And I'd just like to add that none of this would've happened if she'd just read the criteria and done a solo. When she says that 'college just isn't for me' all she's saying is that learning to take criticism isn't for her. I mean...can she hear herself? And it's especially annoying because she was getting so much better and now.....well, she'll see.
She really had the nerve to call Carmen Tibideaux a failure. I swear watching her failing miserably at the beginning of season 6 was probably one of my favorite parts if the show
I get what Kurt is saying. Rachel is a restless strong willed character who has never known what she wants and needs to get to the top as fast as possible like she has some sort of record to beat or something to prove. She wanted college, she cried when she thought she wouldn't get in, yet she basically bugged and bugged Whoopi, she got in and Kurt didn't. She barely was in college for long before she then wanted to jump straight into Broadway, and in a rush to get her dream she dropped out of college, then Broadway ended and she was left up the creek without a paddle. She cried and threw tantrums when she'd burned her bridges yet she still got what she wanted in the end very quickly. Kurt has been battling homophobia and bullying all his life, got turned down so many times, didn't get into college first time and later in this very episode is fighting for his life. Rachel learns her lesson obviously temporarily, but she has just been the most fluttery person in this show and the moral is because she's a main character she unrealistically succeeds.
The coddling of Rachel’s character and continuously placing her on a pedestal is infuriating. The defence of Rachel is always the same “she’s ambitious”, “she works hard” and “she’s talented and deserves it”. There is so much more in life than being ambitious or being talented. Saying Rachel deserves everything she cries for because she can sing is like saying a mother deserves her son just because she gave birth to him. What if that woman was abusive and verbally cruel to that child? That’s what Rachel is to literally all her success. She can sing but little else. She is a horrible friend who treats them as disposable, she refuses to follow rules unless it’s convenient to her, she’ll deliver ultimatums whenever something slightly bad happens to her and refuses to accept any kind of situation that benefits others unless it also benefits herself.
Because Ryan Murphy saw people liked Kurt being friends with Mercedes and realized no one actually liked Rachel so he forced Kurt and Rachel to be besties.
Rachel being an adult means that you can't have your way every time and also making plans because rarely dreams come true I mean how many people have dreamed of being famous but now work at McDonald's because they banked on their dreams becoming reality
this reminds me of a conversation I had with my friend we both did acting and he was losing interest but he was good so I tried to convince him to stay at this amazing college but he said " tons of actors don't go to college and there on telly " and I told him " because they trained and trained to be good " and I told him the college would open doors for him but he wouldn't listen and left now all he does is sit at home and does nothing
I was about to say Rachel had a point when talking about how expensive NYADA was, but then she kept running her mouth and I went back to thinking she was a brat
1:06 Tommy Rall, dancer for MGM known for movies such as 'My Sister Eileen', 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers', 'Kiss Me Kate' and 'The Second Greatest Sex', credited by Gene Kelly himself as being the greatest dancers MGM had ever had, apparently once: "You have to love music and dance because this business is so difficult. If you don't love the art and just want to be a star, then I think you're a dead duck. I don't think you could stand it otherwise."
Exactly her mistake was treating people like trash. I support her decision to leave the school since she already had a good job on broadway but the way she spoke to Carmen was unacceptable
It's really bad to watch this scene and knowing what happens next. Imagine those guys killed Kurt and the last thing Rachel had heard from her best friend was "screw you"
@Liza Johnson honestly I thought it kind of made sense. Rachel is ambitious, she wont stop tell she reaches her goal (in this case Broadway) but she doesnt have a plan for afterwords. Shes so narrow focus that she thinks in a way where you prioritize based on short time periods rather than larger ones. So it made sense that after she got the role of her dreams she got bored of it due to the fact that the limelight started to get repetitive (this is where she sings wake me up when it's all over) and since she didnt have a new goal she immediately jumped at the chance to do something new (the tv show). This is why rachel needed NYADA. She thrives in a school environment because it's just goal after goal. In highschool for example she had sectionals then regionals then nationals, ect. NYADA would have worked similarly with a new goal placed in front of her to achieve. Eathier way sorry for going on this rant
Compare her character from s1 with this, yes she’s still annoying and kinda selfish but she’s ready to do everything to achieve her goal and she was really nice to her friends in glee club. It’s really frustrating how do they have the power to write and “develop” a character from being brat to even more brat.
@@layshamartinez3755 then use your so called common sense and read where I said I was happy she and her son was getting death threats. Maybe you aren’t as good as reading as you typing keyboard warrior
It's impossible to be full-time waitress at diner, full-time student in NYADA, and full-time Broadway actress for play. If I have done most of those things, I would be burn out. But dropping down NYADA which will provide her education so she could get more roles in future and also more chances is most stupid thing she can do. Kurt is right that she must be smart.
The more she raised her voice the more it seemed like she was just trying to blatantly ignore what they were saying could be true and hide the fact that she knew that she was biting off more than she could chew.
If Rachel had just done the damn assignment correctly, she wouldn't have had to quit, she wouldn't have had to argue with kurt, he wouldn't have had to be alone in the fight and none of this wouldve happened if Rachel would just do the assignment CORRECTLY and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS basically that's the way i see it
She’s my least favorite because all she cares about is having the spotlight most of the time and she didn’t defend Finn when Sebastian showed her the picture of Finn naked. Not only that she didn’t want new people in glee club and she wanted a lot of attention
Season 5 is so hard to watch for the inconsistency of character psychology as a whole but it's cristal clear in Rachel. Honestly I would be ok(ish) if the thought of writing a few scenes of Rachel saying that she knows she's being impulsive and reckless but she couldn't control herself because she was still mourning.
A part of me wishes Lea stuck with Broadway. That’s where her true talent lies. I’ve been a fan of glee for a while, but Spring Awakening was beyond masterpiece.
The reason I liked Season 6 was it was the consequences of her being a brat. I think her getting a Tony years later showed she grew up in the time period of the jump
In this scene, Kurt sits in a restaurant in New York. Rachel comes in and says hi to Kurt, who gives a half of a smile to her. She sits down, while the waiter leaves the table after escorting her. She says, "sorry for being late." Right then, Kurt tells her, "I know what you did. You're crazy." "Oh, my God." Rachel says. "Are you serious? You really already heard about that?" "Seriously?" Kurt says. "The gossip chain of NYADA is the most efficient part of the school." "Hey, look, don't judge me." Rachel tells Kurt. "It was the right thing to do." "How can you say that?" Kurt asks her. "Two years ago, you would have done anything humanly possible to force your way in that school, and now, you're just gonna quit?" Rachel says, "oh, my God, that was before Fanny, okay? Everything changed from that moment on." "I understand that," Kurt says, "but an education from NYADA would give you options in the future. Okay, Broadway is a fickle business. What if this is the last role you'll ever get?" "Last role?!" Rachel says. "Really? Wow! You are worse than Carmen. Is that what you honestly what you think of me?" Kurt says, "of course not. I'm just saying, you need to be smart about this." "Okay, look, Kurt." Rachel begins to tell him. "I'm just not interested in spending large sums of money on a school whose classes I can barely even attend, and a dean who doesn't like me or support me!" "It's not what it is." Kurt reassures her. "She's just-" "We can play the 'What If' game all day long," Rachel says, "but, the point is, is that I have the opportunity of a lifetime staring at me in the face right now, and I can't let anything, whether it's school, or Carmen, or the diner, or....you know, even my friends, stop me from accomplishing my dreams!" Kurt says, "okay, for the last time, Rachel, I am begging you, please don't do this." Rachel tells him, "you know, I am so hurt right now, that you are standing in a corner with a failure like Carmen Tibedaux, and not your best friend!" "I'm not on Carmen's side!" Kurt says to her. "I'm on your side." "You're afraid." Rachel tells Kurt. She gets up off her seat as Kurt watches her, and she continues, "okay, you're afraid to venture up. You need a place like NYADA, where it's just one big safe group, and no one takes any risks. That way, you guys can just avoid the fact of actually having to grow up and be an adult!" "Screw you, Rachel." Kurt tells her. "Wow, Okay." Rachel says as she leaves the restaurant, as Kurt sits there upset and shocked at how Rachel has handled the situation and he shakes his head.

Maybe studied part-time?
I can’t even remember if Rachel was still working at the dinner at this time but I agree
Rachel begs to get into NYADA then she quits
She quits NYADA to play Fanny Bryce then she quits at that too
"After you get what you want you don't want it, if I gave you the moon, you'd get tired of it soon. You're like a baby, you want what you want when you want it. But after you are presented with what you want you're discontented." I'm still surprised no one's sung that song to Rachel yet.
@@agenttheater5 wht song is it
@@caseyjl949 'After You Get What You Want You Don't Wan It' - I think it's a Sophie Tucker song from the 20s and I know it was covered by Marilyn Monroe at some point but I first knew it when it was sung by someone else as a cover on the soundtrack for 'Boardwalk Empire': ruclips.net/video/YZEDM96cXtQ/видео.html
What Rachel should’ve done if she didn’t have enough time for class:
- quit the diner job
- take some of her classes during the summer
- actually try
Also, some of the most prestigious Broadway thespians have most definitely been able to balance schoolworks and performing during their (often struggling) debut years.
and she still somehow found the time to go to Kurts performance. And I'd just like to point out that if she and Blaine had just performed solos as the assignment required in the first place then they wouldn't have this problem anyhow. Her giving them a chance to perform again was extremely generous.
I hate Rachel. Kurt deserved a better friend
Yitzhak Crx mercedes was actually his original bestfriend. rachel stole him from her
Stéphanie Adomou Kurt is actually best friends with both of them
Ivonne Vega oh they are great best friends stop it 😂 all best friends argue that’s what makes the friend ship grow stronger that’s why Rachel and Mercedes are close
Why she say “woww” like that as if she didn’t just insult him horribly 🙄🙄🙄
Rachel has the nerve to accuse Kurt of refusing to grow up? Who is she to talk? She quit NYADA because she didn't like the workload. She's in no position to complain about let alone accuse Kurt anyone else of not wanting to grow up.
It's moments like this where I absolutely despise Rachel. Quitting NYADA was a stupid choice, but all she fucking cares about is the spotlight.
Ebony Tesfaye but it was a stupid decision she made. she was acting like a total brat about it
Like she says to Finn she's Tinkerbell she needs applause
@@lolalol2502 I agree
As usual Kurt was right
1:14 'A failure'? In what world is the dean of a high-cost university a failure? In what world is being a teacher a failure?
She's just a brat who thinks everyone is inferior to her... remember how she treated Mr. Shue sometimes.
@@Platinum400 rachel is garbage person lmao
Its cause Carmen Tibideaux tried out for Juilliard 4x.
@@rawansinger77 And Rachel tried out for NYADA twice, then quit before her second year was over only to beg to be let back in🤨
NYADA is a fictional school that is the equivalent of Julliard.
Now i want you guys to think about her quitting again
Personally I think Rachel’s mistake was quitting broadway. I think it would have been fine if Rachel would have taken a break from school then returned after she made money from broadway.
Kurt is the best friend anyone could dream of, and he's been treated like shit by everyone
this is why Kurt deserved better. also rachel was extremely punchable and annoying this entire episode
"Screw you Rachel"
Kurt is more grown up then Rachel since in high school he was bullied and toke a risk and stood up for himself and saved a guy and got beat up in the process
Rachel needs to take her own advice instead of lecturing Kurt. When Rachel said that Kurt needs to grow up and be an adult she needs to do the same.
Kurt deserved so much better, not only did they only give him a play in a retirement home they also gave him Rachel Berry as his best friend.
That retirement home story, that was Chris's. He wrote that episode old dogs new tricks

Yeah, Kurt deserved better
Yes
Rachel isn't ready so as always Kurt is right!
I've been to film festivals where HIGHLY talented actors and actresses essentially shot themselves in the foot by acting like divas who act all offended if someone says "I love your performance, but I think your scene here could've been better thanks to X" (which, again, in the acting community is essential to get honest feedback so you can become better and so get more jobs) and some directors saw said actor/ress get all huffy about it and react with "Yeah, never hiring that person, as if we want the extra problems that diva will bring."
In short, it doesn't matter how talented you are if your attitude marks you as a possible future problem on set, because the directors can just choose to go with the equally as talented person without the diva attitude (yes, they exist).
"Screw you Rachel". The best line in the entire friggin' series
She really said Kurt wasn’t an adult cause he wanted to stay in college??? College is the ultimate test of adulthood
The look on Kurt's face when Rachel says no one takes any risks it's as if everything from his past just came flooding back to him in one second
Our protaganist, ladies and gentlemen. The girl we're all supposed to be rooting for.
"grow up and be an adult!" lolololololololol
sorry Rachel that Kurt would rather go to a prestigious school from where he could better cement his own future in Broadway, and also she really didn't think this through because not only did she get a second chance to audition afterwards only to leave to join a crappy TV show but she also got her second chance at an education at that fine institution.
I'm finished.
just knowing that lea is probably like this in real life too makes this scene so much more unbearable to watch
As annoying as Rachel was, at least she wasn’t racist like Lea was. And Rachel actually had some moments when she was likable.
Poor Kurt.
Everyone was always so honest to Rachel but she was to stuck up and in her own world to actually realized what going on
kurt is right, rachel shouldn't throw her whole life away
Poor Kurt. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want help.
Why are you acting like she’s a drug addict or an alcoholic lmao
@@layshamartinez3755 she has an addiction to the spotlight
Wow, Kurt. That felt good
Kurt is right
rachel talking about growing up and being an adult like she ever did that.....
An artist is never bigger than the art itself. To work in art is to learn incessantly, which, apparently is below Ms. Berry.
Rachel had that last part coming!
If I was Kurt, I would have thrown Rachel across the room. Ridiculous.
I would have used the sai swords on her
The coddling of Rachel’s character and continuously placing her on a pedestal is infuriating.
The deflection, the gaslighting, the guilt-tripping, the insults, the denial. Remind me why these two were ever friends?
Because Ryan Murphy saw people liked Kurt being friends with Mercedes and realized no one actually liked Rachel so he forced Kurt and Rachel to be besties.
I hate it when they fight💔

It’s like watching to awesome siblings fight
But at the end it just brings them closer together
Rachel being an adult means that you can't have your way every time and also making plans because rarely dreams come true I mean how many people have dreamed of being famous but now work at McDonald's because they banked on their dreams becoming reality
Exactly - sometimes life throws unexpected things at you and you’ve got to make the best of what you have
this reminds me of a conversation I had with my friend we both did acting and he was losing interest but he was good so I tried to convince him to stay at this amazing college but he said " tons of actors don't go to college and there on telly " and I told him " because they trained and trained to be good " and I told him the college would open doors for him but he wouldn't listen and left now all he does is sit at home and does nothing

1:31 idkw but when he said that it made me laugh so hard!
I actually agree with Rachel for quitting NYADA but she was totally acting like a brat in this part.
She's always been acting like a brat, because that's who she is.
Exactly her mistake was treating people like trash. I support her decision to leave the school since she already had a good job on broadway but the way she spoke to Carmen was unacceptable
This is the scene. This is the scene that defines Rachel as a character. This is the culmination of all of Rachel’s worst aspects.
Kurt is me
Instead of telling Kurt to grow up and to be an adult, why can’t Rachel grow up and be an adult for once. Education comes first.
It's really bad to watch this scene and knowing what happens next. Imagine those guys killed Kurt and the last thing Rachel had heard from her best friend was "screw you"

she threw everything away just for a role in a broadway musical!??!?!?
Her dream role to be fair.
But she even threw that away for some failed tv show
@Liza Johnson honestly I thought it kind of made sense.
@Liza Johnson not JUST because. Part of that was because of her innate spoiled bratness, as well.
Compare her character from s1 with this, yes she’s still annoying and kinda selfish but she’s ready to do everything to achieve her goal and she was really nice to her friends in glee club. It’s really frustrating how do they have the power to write and “develop” a character from being brat to even more brat.

When Kurt said screw you Rachel I was like oh my gosh 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
The fact that she talked to Kurt like this when she got into NYADA and he didn’t… she is not a friend to him.
If Rachel had just done the damn assignment correctly, she wouldn't have had to quit, she wouldn't have had to argue with kurt, he wouldn't have had to be alone in the fight and none of this wouldve happened if Rachel would just do the assignment CORRECTLY and FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS basically that's the way i see it
The writers ruined every character on this show
She’s my least favorite because all she cares about is having the spotlight most of the time and she didn’t defend Finn when Sebastian showed her the picture of Finn naked.
But you can’t lie the acting is A+
In season 4 I was staring to like Rachel Bc she was getting less annoying but she literally lost all her character development as soon as season 5 hit
That was harsh of Kurt and rachel
A part of me wishes Lea stuck with Broadway. That’s where her true talent lies. I’ve been a fan of glee for a while, but Spring Awakening was beyond masterpiece.
The reason I liked Season 6 was it was the consequences of her being a brat. I think her getting a Tony years later showed she grew up in the time period of the jump
He should’ve said Fuck you Rachel 🤣
Indeed, her last rol, well actually scream queens... bye Lea
In this scene, Kurt sits in a restaurant in New York. Rachel comes in and says hi to Kurt, who gives a half of a smile to her.
She sits down, while the waiter leaves the table after escorting her.
She says, "sorry for being late."
Right then, Kurt tells her, "I know what you did. You're crazy."
"Oh, my God." Rachel says. "Are you serious? You really already heard about that?"
"Seriously?" Kurt says. "The gossip chain of NYADA is the most efficient part of the school."
"Hey, look, don't judge me." Rachel tells Kurt. "It was the right thing to do."
"How can you say that?" Kurt asks her.
"Two years ago, you would have done anything humanly possible to force your way in that school, and now, you're just gonna quit?"
Rachel says, "oh, my God, that was before Fanny, okay?
Everything changed from that moment on."
"I understand that," Kurt says, "but an education from NYADA would give you options in the future.
Okay, Broadway is a fickle business.
What if this is the last role you'll ever get?"
"Last role?!" Rachel says. "Really? Wow! You are worse than Carmen.
Is that what you honestly what you think of me?"
Kurt says, "of course not. I'm just saying, you need to be smart about this."
"Okay, look, Kurt." Rachel begins to tell him. "I'm just not interested in spending large sums of money on a school whose classes I can barely even attend, and a dean who doesn't like me or support me!"
"It's not what it is." Kurt reassures her. "She's just-"
"We can play the 'What If' game all day long," Rachel says, "but, the point is, is that I have the opportunity of a lifetime staring at me in the face right now, and I can't let anything, whether it's school, or Carmen, or the diner, or....you know, even my friends, stop me from accomplishing my dreams!"
Kurt says, "okay, for the last time, Rachel, I am begging you, please don't do this."
Rachel tells him, "you know, I am so hurt right now, that you are standing in a corner with a failure like Carmen Tibedaux, and not your best friend!"
"I'm not on Carmen's side!" Kurt says to her. "I'm on your side."
"You're afraid." Rachel tells Kurt.
She gets up off her seat as Kurt watches her, and she continues, "okay, you're afraid to venture up.
You need a place like NYADA, where it's just one big safe group, and no one takes any risks.
That way, you guys can just avoid the fact of actually having to grow up and be an adult!"
"Screw you, Rachel." Kurt tells her.
