    My people have beading traditions that use similar techniques! Thank you for this, a lot of the beadwork tradition were lost so it's hard to find elders to teach me.

    I love this pattern❤ I have 2 questions. How long does it take to make this particular necklace? 2nd question...how do i make it longer...mid chest?

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  4 года назад

      It will take several hours, depends on how fast you bead, it took me about 4 hours maybe a little longer, I generally do not keep track. I work on it for a while, go do other things, then come back to it. Make more units to make it longer or add and extender chain to the end, which it the best way to keep it round but adjustable.

    Great video. I always thought netting was complicated, but it is not thanks to you! Using beads of the same sizes as yours, about what length would the netting be (how long does it hang) from the neck to the bottom tip? Great instructions for making the circumference longer for a larger neck.

    What can I do when small parts of seed beaded necklace are twisted?
    I put a heavy object on my necklace to straighten it, but sometimes it doesn't work.🙁

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  4 года назад +1

      მარიამი Mariami what kind of thread did you use to make it? If it was regular monofilament fishing line, it twists, and there is not a lot you can do. Sometimes you can wet and lightly stretch, and lay out the necklace to dry, if it was made with Fireline or Nymo. But many times it is in the stitching, it twisted while being made and it’s going to stay that way unless you remake it.

    • @mariami2670
      @mariami2670 4 года назад

      @@GGCBeginningbeaders Thank you. I don't know how to say in English that word maybe it's called "fishing line" I used it. Only 2 pieces is twisted. I put a heavy book on it and I hope it will be okey 😊

    So beautiful!! It reminds me of Victorian lace!! I have a question about the stringing material. Do you always use fire line or do you ever use nymo? I saw a video in which she used nymo and I was wondering if there’s times when one is better than the other or, is it just a matter of preference? Thank you! 💜

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  5 лет назад +1

      Nails by Sharon H you can use Nymo, it has a tendency to fray and tangle when using long lengths. You can use a thread wax to help with that . I, however, never use it. Some beaders feel that it is softer and makes a more flexible piece. I find that Fireline works just fine, it’s stronger, and yet still flexible enough to make a larger piece, like this one, and allow it to lay well while keeping its shape. I, personally, do not see the need to change thread for any of the pieces I make, regardless of the stitch or size of project. But that’s just me, there is no right or wrong, just personal preference. If Nymo is what you have, use it. The other reason I like Fireline is because you can extend it, makes it o much easier to add thread.
