I think I once had a brush with the child fashion industry. I was either 7 or 8. Me and my mom were told it was an acting thing, and even back then I loved being onstage and I loved theatre. I wanted to be in a movie, and they told us I could do it if I tried out at this event. It was a weirdly fancy ballroom-like venue, with rough, carpet-like flooring and beige walls, silver curtains blocking off part of the large space. We waited ages for it to start, and when it did, the other kids auditioning were made to walk on a runway the best they could. I was upset, I was told this would be for acting but it was a fashion show thing? I felt lied to. I didn't want to be a model, I wanted to act! That coupled with the overstimulation of the whole thing (i am autistic) caused me to run away crying, going to the other side of the curtain to hide. It was just as big as the ballroom, only brighter with white tables in white tablecloth and white chairs. Me and my mom left early. I wasn't as comfortable on a stage after that.
