This guy’s videos are better than my school’s documentaries I swear. And, jokes aside, this is really well-made and informative. Keep up the good work!
This whole Crosswoods situation is honestly a mess since the exploiters' "game" has caused accounts who interacted with it be falsely banned plus encouraging others to spam the link to the point the kid was crying on stream and that ROBLOX have known about this exploit since 2016, did nothing about it, still didn't respond to it, then handled it when everyone was making headlines about the "game". It's funny that Synttax had switched the direction of the exploit because it makes you think if he did that due to him being in hot water. My theory is that the exploit was intentionally made to falsely ban users for the kick of it but when ROBLOX got their heads outta the sand and banned the game/people behind it, he had to change the purpose in order to look good in front of the Roblox community.
I actually got in the exploiter’s discord, and dang they were pure evil, me and a guy with a mao pfp took it upon ourselves to spam ping the server until we got banned, and we actually managed to convince people to join us or leave, our efforts were not in vain
"Please do NOT attack the people who are responsible for the incident" Screw up, they didn't got no remorse for their actions, less they'll care if we harass them. They are psicopaths and a danger for all of us.
Yeah seriously, Why would DWC even do this? Seriously, Their getting nothing from it but banning innocent kids, One of the members have said it was for “Showing roblox to make their platform and moderation better” But it’s just cruel, And that can cost roblox a lot of money, And it could get into serious legal terms.
Great documentary!! The reason why people say over 10,000 accounts were affected was because there were many games not only crosswoods thats could ban you!
To be honest, i have to admit, the concept of both scripts are genius ideas. Not in a good type of way, but it goes to show how you can really take advantage of whatever kind of knowledge you have(scripting) and use it against people for your own gain. It sounds scary too. I actually just heard about this incident a few days ago and I had no clue what it was when it first started happening.
My little sister got it banned because of this..I’m not mad I lost my account that I had TONS of robux on, I’m mad that my little sister can’t talk to her friends that moved away anymore. I’m not blaming Roblox for the friend thing, but seriously having to see a sad 7 year old child crying because she can’t play her favorite game anymore is just horrible… It makes me so mad the moderators don’t really take this seriously. Great documentary and hope to see you do this again soon!
I want to make Crosswoods have an actual campaign. That would be cool. A horror game in a crimson forest, where you have to shoot down random creatures, and rescue people from a B.A.N. virus.
I mean it wasnt a hack it was a simple script that was already on roblox. The aprils fools incident also occourred because there was a bad set script were the test sites could allow you to transfer things to main roblox like a roblox account token, thats how the disaster happened. By a flaw of roblox.
When this was going very bad, I actually had to report this to the User Safety of ROBLOX The email was sent somewhere in July 18th. I explained to them about what was happening, how it worked and waited for them to reply. The system replied in 3 minutes
Unpopular opinion: Sure, this was partially Roblox's fault, but they fixed it extremely fast and unbanned most accounts, something no one compliments them for. However, when people were alerted and everyone was telling each other to not play, some people managed to either completely ignore the news, or simply join the random game/server a stranger asked them to join to. So, please, explain. Who decided to join a game a stranger asked you to join without even telling you a bit about it? Sure, there were many unfair bans, but a good number happened because people were careless. Thanks for reading.
I mean bro if u join a game someone told u to and u get ur account banned its not like you have the fault, its not like the games that ban your account are found everyday and are common

I don't know if someone has said this already, but anyone who has played on the minecraft server 2b2t or watched a youtuber named FitMC, knows that the name "popbob" is associated with a very well known exploiter who was responsible for many griefs and chaos. they are also part a hacker group that includes a multitude of other exploiters. I fear they have possibly moved on from minecraft, and have plans for roblox in mind.
Logically speaking it's very unlikely to be the popbob from 2b2t. Most likely some random person who thought it would be funny / cool to use the name. Either way we are screwed lol the biggest issue is Roblox not fixing this issue even though they knew about it for multiple years
Without a doubt the worst incident to ever happen on Roblox. Worse than the Chipotle Incident, worse than April Fools 2012, and thank GOD I wasn't a victim. In fact, it's a MIRACLE I wasn't. 2:47 of course theyre a 2b2ter 💀 i'm not suprised somebody who plays on 2b2t is behind something like this 3:30, for context. popbob is a popular hacker / exploiter on the minecraft anarchy server, 2b2t. i highly doubt the actual popbob has anything to do with this, but i'm not suprised somebody who plays on a mc server made for people to exploit, managed to do this to roblox 5:28, may i also add, he probably meant "trust me on this" not that the game would be easier to trust
What ClientERROR did was the absolute WORST thing anyone did on Roblox, even worse than Ellernate causing the April Fools Incident in 2012. He (ClientERROR) honestly deserved his ban because of the massive damage he did, even higher than Ellernate's. I hope everyone will be safe and that the same situation won't happen.
Hey, nice video you've made. I've been watching your channel for a long time and you've improved so much. Glad to come back to see you getting more fame!
I didn’t even know this was going on, I was probably playing a game while this was happening. I had heard of crosswoods and how terrible it was but I thought it was because it allowed you to say bad words and people started getting their accounts banned because of it or something but no. Kinda crazy. Did roblox IP ban the dude behind this?
I have a theory about this: the account behind the Crosswoods hacking was actually a person who just wanted to make their own version of crossroads called Crosswoods. Crosswoods would have had a very similar gameplay style, where people would fight each other forever until they get bored. While the player was making the game, a hacker decided to target a small up and coming roblox game creator and make their game ban players, and they targeted the creator of crosswoods. The game got turned into a blank roblox game. Btw I just got to the part about pop bob, and pop bob was actually the name of a famous Minecraft anarchy server hacker. He would troll players on the server before he quit after years of the server. With this information I think that popbob has moved away from Minecraft and started targeting the young main audience of roblox. He wanted to get easy money from them so he stole the game from the original creator, used the gamepads to get robux from players, dev ex it into money, then get the players banned so that they can't report the taken over account. We should all fear the Crosswoods hacker pop bob, as we don't know what he's going to strike us with next. I'd suggest that you research the history of the Minecraft anarchy server 2b2t about this man as he could bring the fate of roblox as we know it.
I usually hate documentary's because I don't learn anything or it's boring but this was fun to watch also they are actually back now they have released more games and are using that same twitch method to promote the link. A twitch streamer recently fell for this so they are back at again and roblox Is doing a much better job on banning them!
10:22 Is like the hacker pretending hes the victim LOL. while a billions worth company should not have such vulnabilities, the same thing is gonna happen again. As hacks, exploits, tech designed to do such things get more advanced, and as roblox changes more and more and its defenses DONT stay the same, its features don't stay the same(new ones added. new vulnerabilities) there will be more exploits. more hacks. Especially cause roblox keeps changing. new features, new versions, etc. but even if it was just the same thing endlessly, no changes, no new versions, etc. Hacks and exploits would still always be eventually found. and like I said previously, hack and exploit tech would also evolve to become better and work.
also heres a thing you most likely didnt know, roblox knew this was an issue back in 2016, but never even bothered to patch it and simply left a note in the dev forum that using it would get you moderated. and guess what? It was just a matter of time until it happend in 2022, and only then they decided to patch it. but they put little to no effort into it up to the point of this exact thing repeating in 2023 but on a much larger scale with there being multiple games each under a different name staying hidden to well no youtuber ever noticed it and roblox just silently patched the loophole that was used. and who would have though? just 3 months after it happend again even though it got taken care of in just a week or less. and thats not even the main part? it literally happend yet again in 2023 just a week before 2024 and going unoticed until the start of 2024 this time however using a different way to ban people, and it only happend due to roblox not updating a patch for a simple but important thing ever since 2021 called the core gui since it was abused back then aswell. and what it lead to? another incident involved mass terminating people. and it hasnt even been half a year since it happend so ill be honestly suprised if 2024 remains calm.
This- this right here, this incident, is just evidence to show how terrible Roblox security truly is. This exploit has been around since 2016, and they did not think to patch it then. The only way to make Roblox fix something that is actually broken is to make it huge, make it way more of an issue. And that goes for almost every major change. We had to backlash. Truly crazy to me how a billion dollar corporation can be endangered so quickly by a group of minor exploiters.

I just find it funny that they decided that their exploit that caused panic was to prove/expose roblox's moderation, despite the fact that everyone and their mothers know how sh*tty it already is - as if all of a sudden doing that will get people to defend his actions
imagine literally just caused a big mayhem and chaos within the community causing most people to lose their account and then proceed to blame it all on the moderation system like "It's all their fault and totally not my ability to exploit the system" I gonna need my medication after this
@@lepury7110 Clark (one of the victims of the incident) got his account back a day after the incident came to an end. I think Roblox can ReActivate terminated accounts. But I could be wrong

Given these facts you have gave out, you are amazing. This games show that how flawed this game really are and what the business can do. Seems like Roblox is a huge platform and game are counted so many.
00:08 "Please do NOT attack the people who are responsible for the incident" If you mean the people covering the issue, fair. But if you mean the people who actually set up the ban games... Why?

Normal bans: Your account has been terminated. Offensive item: hi Reason: Harassment Crosswoods bans: Your account has been terminated. Offensive item: i love children Reason: Child Endangerment Wait, what? Why do they terminate your account because the hack caused you to say inappropriate things but normally (or commonly) they terminate you for saying hi? HOW???!!
As someone who joined roblox in 2023, this is terrifying. I'm so glad this appeared on my youtube recommended as I now know not to trust suspicious games.
I don't know if anyone else made this connection but seeing that Synttax also goes by "PopBob" INSTANTLY made me think of the hacker popbob from 2b2t minecraft
How the fuck is this Roblox’s fault yall tripping. Synttax switched sides to “redeem” himself, yet nobody would forget the chaos HE caused. Switching from side to side just to prove something that has been proven multiple times is so fucking hilarious and not in a good way. He has NO remorse for his actions yet the dimwits are saying this is Roblox’s fault?????
Just to further expand on if you didn’t really know what was happening, the chat service is sorta flawed. Resulting in it to allow the “exploiters” (more like a loophole tbh) to manipulate your client to chatting things unfiltered triggering that termination or ban. Most likely a loop as you joined to spam chat.
It's really stupid that they have to do it like this. They could make people get banned for 3 days and it would already be a major issue. Besides, I am doubting their motives were even to prove roblox has to bad moderation, but rather just trolling (because of the vid literally saying they did trolling) To be honest, I agree that roblox' bad moderation should be proven to them and have them do something, but they just took it way too far.
“Syn calls himself popbob.” For those who don’t know popbob is a semi-inactive 2b2t player that is trans and was a notorious player on the server back a long time ago now he mostly plays on alts (we only know this because some randoms made fun of him for being trans and he blew up their base and wrote a sign with his current name) but is also involved in Nerds Inc. which is a group that literally tries to mess up the server on the daily and it’s social media most notably the subreddit was hacked by members of Nerds Inc and there was a massive server exploit that recently happened due to him. I knew a guy named Syn on 2b2t when I used to play on the server and he was a semi-known pvper. Though most likely it isn’t the same person but it’s a possibility as I seen him stream Roblox in the past in some 2b2t discord servers.
How to be safe, MUST DO. 1- Do not play any suspicious game, any game who has 1 player or 4 means it’s crosswood in a time. (Not all) 2- DISABLE CHAT. So that if you join crosswoods by accident you cannot say those weird things. *(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, MUST DO!)* 3- DO NOT PLAY ANY ROBLOX LINK YOUR FRIENDS GIVE YOU. 4- Play only popular games. Thank you. Have a nice day!
Idk just be cautious when you see kohls admin, dont join crosswoods, and hope that your stream doesnt get nuked if you stream Also i think using the new chat helps defend against it, but just because the protection is better, doesnt mean itll be permanently safe. _There will eventually be someone who breaches the new chat system. Even if it takes 5 years to happen._
Unfortunately some users have taken advantage of this situation to actually say really inappropriate things to minors and pass it off as one of the exploits.
"Popbob" is in reference to a notorious griefer who used to play on the "oldest minecraft anarchy server", 2b2t. There's a few videos by FitMC that tells the tale pretty well, just with a little hyperbole.
I'm glad that I have never even joined any of these games during my spare time, I protect my account how i want it to be and not let it be banned out of any Bannable Models, Names, and even Game Experiences that involves the same thing as the Crosswoods. Thank god I am safe.

Damn the production level on this is insane, highly underrated, keep it up.
Very interesting theory. It makes a lot of sense
The oldest anarchy server on Roblox is a game that isn't even playable.

“Syn calls himself popbob.”
For those who don’t know popbob is a semi-inactive 2b2t player that is trans and was a notorious player on the server back a long time ago now he mostly plays on alts (we only know this because some randoms made fun of him for being trans and he blew up their base and wrote a sign with his current name) but is also involved in Nerds Inc. which is a group that literally tries to mess up the server on the daily and it’s social media most notably the subreddit was hacked by members of Nerds Inc and there was a massive server exploit that recently happened due to him.
(Not all)
2- DISABLE CHAT. So that if you join crosswoods by accident you cannot say those weird things. *(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, MUST DO!)*
3- DO NOT PLAY ANY ROBLOX LINK YOUR FRIENDS GIVE YOU.
4- Play only popular games.
Thank you. Have a nice day!
Do you mean “Disable Chat” for number 2?
Does disabling chat actually work?
Idk just be cautious when you see kohls admin, dont join crosswoods, and hope that your stream doesnt get nuked if you stream
Also i think using the new chat helps defend against it, but just because the protection is better, doesnt mean itll be permanently safe.
