    Love the review of the safe and you’re right that this is a specific tool for a specific purpose. I will say that at this price point, it’s a bit more than what my budget would find friendly or justifiable. Like others said, the Agile SecureIt is more my option for my needs.

    While I can appreciate some of the "tech" and "reconfigure" features that this safe offers, it is insanely overpriced for what it is. Let's face it... anybody with a crow bar is going to be able to get into this thing in a matter of minutes. The technology features may or may not be susceptible to hacking efforts. This is not a fire rated safe. The manufacturer is hoping to sell you another $100 or more dollars of accessories to get this safe configured to your needs. The biggest downside is that the "backup key" is always the easiest way into one of these safes as typically a teenager can research youtube vids on how to try to pick that kind of lock. For $1250 you are nearing the budget of very high quality safes from Amsec and others that have actual real physical security that is very tough to crack into, fire rating, locks rated for 100,000 duty cycles, etc. Sorry Vaultek but it's a pass on this thing.

    • @ThatCleanMT
      @ThatCleanMT 4 года назад

      voip-ninja 😆 the locking points in this safe are extremely solid. There’s no way someone is going to get in with a crowbar within minutes. We sell this thing. You’re sorely mistaken.

    • @jmpage2
      @jmpage2 4 года назад +1

      @@ThatCleanMT Well I guess you've got a lot of customers who have more $$ than common sense. This is NOT a high security safe... even the guy who is getting freebies from Vaultek to review these things acknowledges it is a "quick access" safe.... without a video of someone attacking the safe it is hard to judge how hard it is too get into but generally speaking this type of safe is not very secure.... the backup lock is without a doubt the weakest point since those types of locks are generally very easily defeated. ruclips.net/video/EY_yMtPCzSg/видео.html. It would be nice to see companies like Vaultek offer real security considering the prices they charge for these cheaply manufactured Chinese products.

    I think it’s great for what it is designed to be. This was not made to be an executive safe. However, at $1,300 it should come with the shelf and other internal accessories that are essential.

    Yeah seeing a lot of comments on here on people thinking this is something it's not. This was meant SOLELY to be a faster, less obtrusive way to keep a rifle close at hand, and easy to access. This was NOT meant to replace your full-scale Liberty safes. Or keep your valuables safe from a fire. Come on people.
    How many of you can put your Liberty Safes in your bedroom? Or in a closet next to the front door for quick access. Or can even push hidden buttons for immediate access to a rifle? Ok then.
    Anyone else with a redundant comment where they'd like to show how little their range of conception is?

    • @benw9431

      Jonathan Barker well when it’s being presented as a safe, what did you expect?

    • @jonathanbarker2592
      @jonathanbarker2592 5 лет назад +2

      @@benw9431 nothing more than common sense. Never ONCE in the video is the claim made "replace your safes with this". The entire video is centered around how quickly its accessed, and what features it has that bigger normal safes dont.
      Literally every point in this video is about where you can put it and how fast you can access it. That's all it is. He doesnt make any comparisons to traditional safes beyond those points. Just watch the video.

    • @benw9431
      @benw9431 5 лет назад +2

      Jonathan Barker your right, he doesn’t say that but he still calls it a safe nonetheless. For the price of this product it’s no wonder people are comparing it to actual safes. This thing is a glorified ammunition cabinet, not a safe.

    • @jonathanbarker2592
      @jonathanbarker2592 5 лет назад +3

      @@benw9431 you can put whatever you want in it brother. Ammunition, your Oscar, or a full sized rifle. It's got a lock. It's made of metal. Nobody is getting into it without some serious effort. And its smaller and faster to open than a full size gun safe. End of story.
      Not sure why this is such a difficult concept. If you're not in need of a certain new tool on the market, it doesnt make that tool illegitimate or not good at its job. Just means you're not the target market audience. This is a niche tool. And its pretty solid for what it does.

    • @benw9431
      @benw9431 5 лет назад +4

      Jonathan Barker it’s not a safe, period. I’ve looked at the specs on this product, three minutes and an angle grinder, you’re in there. That’s not serious work. The point your making about it being “faster” is a moot point when the majority of safes today come with a keypad for quick access that are just as “fast”. Could the vaultek be half a second quicker? Sure, but does half a second justify this price point? No.
      I’m not saying this product is illegitimate, I’m saying it’s being misrepresented as something it’s not, and I’m not just picking on vaultek, the majority of the “safe” industry does this marketing bs. So it’s always good to inform consumers what they’re really getting, and in this case, they’re paying close to the price of a real safe but not getting an actual safe.

  • @00ttvr6

  • @benw9431
    @benw9431 5 лет назад +18

    Sorry but I think vaultek has lost their minds on this one. 1300$ for what is essentially an ammunition cabinet is crazy. You can spend half that and get the same thing from a number of brands that’s just as fast to open.
    Also, I wouldn’t be using the word “safe” when describing this product. This is definitely not a safe by any means.

    • @zilch7116
      @zilch7116 4 года назад

    At 11:30 what would the point of the safe be with smartkey being in the same room as the safe? If all someone has to do is find the button and push it why do you need the safe at all? Just hide your guns, it's the same thing for much cheaper.
    As others have commented, at the price point better, less high-tech but still quick to access, safes with electronic locks can be had. The only advantage of this safe then becomes it's lighter weight and high-tech features to play with.

    The price is absurd, $250-300 for a top of the line handgun safe x 4 is plausible and I believe fair. This is way overboard on wizbang wifi and quick access buttons that only drive up the price and in my opinion detract from it being a firearm safe. I think $800-900 range with just biometric and keypad would sell, at $700-750 range fly off the shelves. Just my thoughts but they do make the best handgun safes on the market for my home/ vehicles.

    Some people can’t have heavy ass safes due to their living conditions. If you have that luxury good for you. This is also a quick access safe. Something you can put in your bedroom in the corner. Good luck doing that with your massive 30 gun 600lbs safe.
    People bitching that’s it’s not fire proof. That’s a damn gimmick. A house fire lasts for over an hour in most cases. Your pathetic 30 45 minute fireproof safe is useless at this point. Yes the price is steep but you get what you pay for. People say oh well Secureit is 750 vs 1200. Yeah but I’m sorry nothing that is put together with bolts and screws does not feel all that safe to me. Secure it is a glorified Stack on safe you can get from your local Walmart.

    Good review! In my opinion there's much more viable options for quick access than this unfortunately priced $1200 "safe" though. It can't really be called a proper gun safe since it's not concrete filled, its security is rather poor since anybody can walk away with it/take an angle grinder to it, nor is it fireproof for its price range. To add on to the security risk wi-fi/apps can be rather easily susceptible to hacking, especially tech from very small companies like Vaultek who are rather inexperienced in this area which is probably why they took away the vault opening feature from the app. As the majority have stated Vaultek seriously needs to revisit the price point (on all their safes for that matter.) Programmable wireless cards are $50, even less if bought in bulk, and sensors are even cheaper. As an testament to this your normal office printer has literally hundreds of sensors inside and are rather inexpensive. Vaultek is either trying to imitate Apple's pricing model or are seriously trying to make their R&D money back the wrong way. As with Apple products "it sure is pretty though."
    With that being said, who are they marketing to? Hipsters? Hipsters are anti-gun. It seems like they're trying to market to the younger crowd that grew up seeing guns in video-games and care more about looks than practicality or value. After all you don't need to pay $1200 for quick access when any metal container with a keypad lock will do. I'd be interested in getting my hands on this and actually putting to test all of it's features since reviewers usually cover the basics, but don't necessarily do a deep dive or rigorous tests.

      Just on one note, the wifi has nothing to do with accessing the safe. Only informational stuff.

    They are going into the stratosphere thinking that they are giving a value proposition at this price point.

    Love the review of the safe and you’re right that this is a specific tool for a specific purpose. I will say that at this price point, it’s a bit more than what my budget would find friendly or justifiable. Like others said, the Agile SecureIt is more my option for my needs.

      It's not a safe. it's a metal gun cabinet. It looks sexy as hell, but as much as I want I can't justify $1300 on something like this - I'd still have to buy a SAFE safe.
