    Changing name is still possible but it cannot be returned to Germany cos there are millions of local Russians who would not leave. They says it must remain Russian as long as they stay there.
    When the two Germans were reunited in 1990, Germany renounced reclaim to whole of former East Prussia and other areas held by the Polish.
    There are some Germans living in Kalingrad but they are friendly to Russians and respect to the city remain in Russia.

      This is a territory taken by force, which has never been Russian or part of the Russian empire until 1945. Germany was forced to renounce any claims to old territories as a condition of German unification in 1990, but this does not justify Russian ownership of Kaliningrad. In 1945 over 14 million German civilians were kicked out of their homes at 3 hours notice and told to march west - hundreds of miles west. This included elderly people, women with babies, children, etc. They were allowed to pack only the bare minimum. Some 2 million died in this death march. This is something rarely talked about, but has been widely documented.

    @1993VNG You talking of expulsion of Germans, by the way entirely decided by superpowers. Why aren't you talking about expulsion of Poles by Germany in September-November 1939. There were 1,5 million of them and many deliberately murdered, all property STOLEN by Germany. My mother, being a child was one of them, my grandpa arrested without a reason, marked for execution. My grandma found way to Gestapo to pay high ransom in gold to save his life. So Germans were making money in a gunpoint !

    One can hope that you have different plans for the present inhabitants of this town than your ancestors had for the Russians who are living there now. Would you like to take some other lands as well? The present national borders resulted from unprovoked Germany's aggression. It is heartbreaking to see films of personal tragedies caused by any war, but Germans wholeheartedly supported their Nazis, either because of stupidity or by being duped by propaganda and this is its result.

The Baltic peoples are connected to the Slavs, but the Balts including the West Baltic tribes of Prussians and Sudovians were more ancient than the Slavs. Slavs never settled in Königsberg. It has been proven by evidence of linguistic nature, ancient chronicle and recently by research of male chromosome Y. Harvard University Peter Underhill map shows it, same Harvard studies of Anatoly Klyosov and I.Rozansky.
    This regards also to lands of what is now Germany, populated by Slavs in almost entire area, some by Celts.
    Slavs were sedentary agricultural peoples, whereas Germanic tribes nomads.

      Well the former East Prussia of Germany or nowadays Poland is located in former Baltic Prussian lands(Baltic Prussians are related to Lituanians,Latvians,Curonians).And Poland togerther with Teutonic knights were involved in Crusade against Baltic Prussians.So those lands belongs to Balts.

    • @wladys678
      @wladys678 2 года назад

      @@bingo5767 Lithuanians, Latvians and Prussians are called Baltoslavs and are subbranch of of Slavic languages, their kinship to Slavic branch is undeniable.
      Calling Poland responsible for crusades against Prussians is gross simplification. First, Poland at time 1138-1320 underwent a period of fragmentation lasting 182 years and the central power was either weak or nonexisting. Konrad of Mazovia, who in 1226 brought Teutonic Order to help him repel persistent plunder of Mazovia by Prussians, soon fell into open conflict with the Teutonic Order in 1234. This conflict never ended and was taken over by Poland reunited in 1320. Though reunification in 1320 was limited to only two provinces out of original five provinces that were subject to will of Bolesław IIIrd who died in 1138, these were Małopolska, Wielkopolska, Mazowsze, Pomorze and Śląsk, only the first two reunited in 1320. In 1331 Poland, won a major battle against the Order at Płowce. Mazovia did not reunite with Poland until 1529, but usually acted in alliance. The protruding war Poland vs whole Western Europe led by the Teutonic Order trying to invade, subjugate and colonize Lithuania and Ruś continued and entered a stage of open war when Henry Lancaster of England, future king, allied with the Order invaded Lithuania 1390-1394 but failed in bloody battles that took a tall of 40 thousand invaders. Then Poland won a major Battle of Grunwald 1410. Finally all Prussia became part of Kingdom of Poland in 1466,, as result of a 13-year war against Teutonic Order, but also at the request of people of Prussia. Poland protected the Prussian language so books could be published in this language in XVI century. Protestantisation of Prussia was a defeat for Prussian language that finally got extinguished by German in XVII century, but also many Prussians got mixed with Poles from neighbouring Mazovia and created Mazurian and Warmian dialects spoken by nearly a million inhabitants of Prussia.

    • @UlmanistLatvia
      @UlmanistLatvia 4 месяца назад

      @@wladys678 Gross simplification is this "Balto-Slavic" lunacy. Latvians and Lithuanians are classified as Eastern Balts, and Prussians as Western Balts.
      Most of the slight similarities are result of more recent imperialism on the part of Poland, and Russia.
      But, Slavs at-least partly descend from a hybrid culture of Dniepr Balts, and Western Schythians, who had subjugated the latter.
      However, this relation does not enable you to make any sort of claims.
      Slavs did inhabited a small part of modern-day Southeastern Poland before the migration period, but not much more than that. There are theories claiming that Slavs have been in Central Europe for at least five centuries as you claim, but most historians dismiss them as work of fiction, made up in the heads of insecure Slav nationalists.

    @1993VNG These lands are called historical Polish lands, although its history is diferent for each region. Eg.Silesia was conquered in a war by Prussia in 1743 and eversince underwent brutal germanisation germanisation. Gdansk was conquered by Prussia in January 1793 after a month long siege in which its inhabitants aided the Polish crew, only the treason of Russia enabled Prussian army to enter the city. Prussia was initiated a conspiracy w.Austria&Russia to erase Polish state 1772-95.

    To w takim razie czy 60 mln zamordowanych mieszkańców Rosji (w tym chyba 80% etnicznych Rosjan) w latach 1917-1955 to wina Rosjan czy komuny ?

    @tupakki yes true but then it all depends on the majority for example The Falklands are on the doorstep of Argantina but the population is 99.9% British decent and these islands are British like Koninsberg is German.
    But if the people of Koninsberg where to cause a big enough stir then Russia whould have no choice but to relent the Soviet Bear is gone she may be stronge but Russia is but a Cub.
    Compeared to the USSR ..

    @tupakki If you understand where I am going with this it is not Chynechna or South Ossetia this is Koninsberg if confronted on a large scale Russia whould have to relent.
    As Koninsberg whould have the backing of NATO UN and the EU

    I really don't think Germany wants this territory back. It makes no geographical or geopolitical sense for Germany to have it back. The best thing would be to give it to Poland, and perhaps Poland could then give Stettin back to Germany, which makes more sense.
