For new buyers - I don't know what to say, I do not want to rob him of his opinions... but on some topics I don't at all relate to him, so here are my opinions.
First of all, It's not that hard to handle... Consider a 5ft 9 person who has never ridden a bike, I had a few options in front of me, and I tried a couple of them including this and xpulse as well as some other ones. This seemed the smoothest and easiest to me to start, ride and come to a stop (and I learned how to ride a bike on my test ride - consider that).
    1. Beginner friendly and Height? This is a beginner friendly bike, gears are very forgiving with long ranges, no vibrations at low RPMs and just overtakes anything and
If you are really good at riding it won't give you trouble even at 5.4". The guy I learned it from was 5.3" and easily got on it had his one leg reaching the ground at any time and he took this to the road, down from the showroom down and up to the godown... I have seen 5.6 and 5.7 people riding the new himalayan at 835 mm comfortably on Himalayas and Ladakh. It's just the rider who needs to handle it and the bike is very light weight and slim for that.
If you are moderatly good, consider that min height of 5ft 7 and above will be good with the low seat (810mm)
if you're really a beginner biker like me consider 5ft 9 minimum with the higher seat height (835mm). I am still riding it with 810mm after a month plus of riding everyday in highways and streets as I was very underconfident with any bike... but I will soon be changing it as the 835 mm one has more cushion.
    2. If that's cleared up, I am a first time rider I bought it in Delhi (for 2.33L) and it's not a waste of money neither does it look cheap to me. 2.3L is also not a lot of money in the two wheeler market rn... There's basically no other bike in this segment under 2L so this is the absolute budget bike and still looks like a sport bike to be honest! (like a proper V-strom) I don't know what the OP expected out of this money. If you're considering Xpulse. It just is better off roader due to the suspensions.. but it's an absolute rough bike, with a rough engine and gear shifts and battery problems and not a beginner friendly one... I went twice for test rides - I felt it even sounds like a motocross bike with the rattling sound
    3. No the 810mm seat doesn't ruin your stance.. It just depends on person to person and how you like to ride it, It's just not that comfortable as the other one.
    4. Handle, Gears, Engine Problems?
I didn't face any handling problems (probably after riding for an year or so who knows?), with time the gears have become smoother.I don't have much experience like the reviewer but I can say that I have heard nothing but good things about this engine and he's saying that the engine is not that smooth.. It's just reliable. I mean I have never experienced it and for sure.. I feel like this engine is smooth AF which almost all of the reviewers say with the Suzuki engine - It's the best thing about the bike!
    5. City Ride?
It's a must-have city bike... It's made for cities, this is the most opposite thing of my experience... I have researched a lot of normal city bikes as well (not ADV) it's the best among those with 120mm... and It doesn't eat up the bumpers and all but its so smooth even if take it up and down a footpath or small bumpy roads which there are a lot in my area... which I regularly do for parking and whenever heading out. Of course nothing compared to a Himalayan and sorts they have 200mm that is why they can't call it a proper Adventurer... but it is a perfect tourer and city bike, perfect for highways and office commutes - If not me listen to the bike guy Shumi.
I found out that this review was of all things negative for most things especially for design which the OP says he doesn't like... well it's not everyone's cup of tea, like Himalayan's not mine, so go with your taste. With some things I agree but for most of them... I think... not so much
My use case? I use it for regular commutes which I also enjoy every bit of it. Also, I want to tour on it sometimes but I am not a hardcore tourer, if I do that a lot. I might switch to the BMW 310 GS or Benelli (or the himalayan 451 better equipped but not my cup of tea for the design and its weight).
Leaving this huge comment to help my fellow V-strom buyers.. It's not Himalayan, It's not Xpulse, It's also not an absolute tank.. It's Vstrom, sporty and lightweight and just in the right budget with an engine that is smooth AF.
Update: I'm not 5ft 9", I am 5ft 7" actually I mentioned it to be that because I was using a very high heel shoes which atleast makes me 5ft 9 because I just learned bikes in general and had low road confidence. After 4 months of riding now I regularly wear normal flat shoes. Sure, I have to scoot my butt over to one side (just an inch maybe) to flat foot but it becomes a muscle memory and you're more aware of when you want to keep your feet down. Only downside is getting stuck in a crawling traffic for 30 minutes (which you will find only in Indian streets) you will feel a little tired with your legs all stretched out (but you get used to handling a tall bike and I don't feel it anymore even in traffic) other than that everything remains the same and I love it even more 😍

Thanks man. Your comment is as important as review. I am living in abroad here legal speed on motorway is 100, need a bike which can tour 100-110kph and can overtake at 120 km easy. Do you think this is the right bike?
Also worried about highway turbulence, here (nz) it gets windy sometimes

@@raj_3lettermagic Cruising at 100 to 110 is good. Wind turbulence affects all bikes irrespective of the weight and ride dynamics. You will get used to it by the time you put 10k mileage on this. Maybe just work on your core strength of your body. And engine is a gem in terms of refinement contrary to this review. I own vstrom and covered 15k plus kilometers in one year. Recently made Maharashtra and Tamilnadu rides with 800 plus kms in single day with ktm adv 390, duke 390 partners. Never felt slow on expressways maintaining 110-120kmph with very good fuel efficiency. Handling issue was there but after changing coneset now it's perfectly alright. Extremely pocket friendly maintenance and very good service support by suzuki. Really happy with the bike. Ride safe✌️

The fact that you completed 15000 kms in 18 months itself shows how good the bike is.
I have completed 10000kms in 1 year, the bike is true "Value for money" even without discounts and my ride has been 80% in Bangalore traffic. There is absolutely zero issues in city traffic riding in slow speeds.
Apart from the navigation in instrument cluater, the bike has no cons In my opinion and people can go eyes closed.
The suspension will settle around 1000kms and the bike will become butter smooth around 5000kms.
In this budget, no other bike gives the comfort for both rider/pillion, touring ability, performance, tractable engine and butter smoothness along wih decent off road capacity (GC is 210mm and suspension is hard wearing)
Also in overseas this bike is already winning trophies in off road events alongside Tenere 700, so people saying the bike is not Adventure capable in India are just pure BS

    • @swaroopmcc2786
      @swaroopmcc2786 5 месяцев назад

@@Vushan108 If it's majorly for commuting go for XSR. If you want decent of all(Commuting, Highway Rides and entry level mild off road) go for Vstrom 250)
Both has its own advantages it's the purpose for which you want.
XSR gives you better mileage, easy in city traffic comparatively and agile riding feedback. But not comfortable for long Highway tours and off road cos of less power, suspension and GC.
Vstrom is decent in city not as good as XSR. Good at highways and Ok for mild offroad. But turns less mileage per litre and maybe a little bit costlier on the maintenance compared to XSR. And if you are below 5.8 height. Seat height is also on the higher side on Vstrom that affects easy handling in the city commute. Both are good bikes just different purpose built

Cons i observed in V storm
    1. Rider foot rest obstruct while reversing bike
    2. TFT screen is ok for me... Little bigger cluster would be nice
    3. Center stand should have been given.. for ease of maintenance
    4. Rear look of bike... Feels small and commuterish bike.
    5. Windshield... I am thinking about removing it completely.... I will test like that for one long ride..
    6. Helmet holder below rear seat does the job... But little better design would have helped....
    Coming to pros
Ride comfort, Engine, clutch, gearing, cruising, build quality, storage provisions, head light, Tires, handling... I would say just one word... Wonderfully amazing😂😂😂...
Some cons can be perfected by some jugad... I think this bike can keep us happy for 1.5 lakh..ish kms😂

I agree with you on some of the points mentioned. I have ridden it now 6k km in 90 days approximately
    Good points
    1. Brakes
    2. Engine is awesome - No vibrations and exceptional mileage (upto45kmpl if ridden constantly at 80kmph)
    3. Seat - very broad and long and well cushioned
    Improvement areas :
    1. Suspension - Front forks are horrible, and the rebond in potholes is sharp and causes wrist pain
    2. Tyres - I use it for touring and the tyre noise is really high on highway and it gets annoying on long tours
    3. World famous suzuki service stations.. Pata nai kab sudhrenge ye log😂
I want to say I am 5ft 5 inches tall guy and I use it for daily office commute in bangalore and highway tours, I think I am able to ride it comfortably in bumper to bumper traffic.. If you are short rider on this bike you need to have confidence and right technique... I still struggle sometimes on slopes and inclinations but I think you can live with it.

The front forks are "NOT" horrible, you are not supposed to dive into potholes at speed,
Either you should stand up or slow down. If you don't do either, rebound will hit
The bike's suspension is more than capable, check out infobikescars channel they completed Mizo adventure rally in Mizoram, the Vstrom easily trumped Xpulse, Himalayan offroad
Also, in countries like Columbia Vstrom SX recently won several trophies in gladiators off road event of 2023, so the rider should know how to ride off road rather than claiming horrible suspension

Hey bro, I am planning to buy V-storm 250 but my height is 5.4, I have test ride the bike for around 6 km in the city and the pillion was sitting with me and I found no problem at all. But I am little bit concerned about the comfort in day to day traffic, if I have to reverse the bike with sitting on it and all the little things. You can understand. I am a experienced rider with 28 years of experience, I owned Pulsar 150, Pulsar 200 (not NS or RS) and Activa. I want to buy a adventure bike and all adventure bikes are tall. Please suggest me.

    • @vimalpatra1440
      @vimalpatra1440 7 месяцев назад +1

Read my comment if you want a good explanation of the height thing for the Vstrom- with the low seat it comes to 810mm try that for the test ride. If you really want an adventure bike go for it. It just feels right to get one when you want an ADV. Day to day traffic will be troublesome you're right with crawling traffic and without the confidence of being able to putting the leg down at all - only if that's how you felt with your test rides!
Probably a good alternative will be Himalayan 450 with the optional low seat (805 mm) or the standard seat comes at 825mm. Its bulky for me, but since you're very experienced it will be very easy for you and ADV is an ADV different from every other segment out there. Cheers!

If Suzuki was so much Lethargic in designing this bike, the customer has every right to be lethargic on neglecting this bike when it comes to buying.
V strom 250sx could've been seriously a great value for money bike if they had distinctive :
    - Indicators
    - Instrument cluster
    - Tank
    - Suspensions
    - Foot peg positioning
    - Hazard lights
    - Tail light (current one sucks af)

Maybe Suzuki comes with complex technology & features but, In terms of Reliability and service Yamaha is always better.
