Per wear she gets her money’s worth from these outfits and this is in keeping with a lot of the other royals. She looks good in anything. Her outfit for her sister’s wedding subtly coordinated with the bridesmaids sashes. When she is on a state visit she has to stun as she is representing the crown. Jewellery is often borrowed from the Queen’s collection and not bought for the occasions so it is unfair to cost these as if they were bought for that event.
Alot of the jewellery is even borrowed from the Queen herself. Like the maple leaf broach she wore on her tour of Canada. This is the Queens broach and the Queen has also worn that exact same broach on her tours in Canada. You're right she knows what her role is now and takes great effort to always represent the Royal family and the uk as best as she can and never complains publically about the restrictions she has to endure, Unlike others in the Royal Family, who didn't care, and who were quite disrespectful of the institution. Kate has taken to it with Class.

Wallace Simpson. Used to see Kate out doing her shopping when William was based at the RAF Valley, Anglesey. She was always so nice and gracious to people.... She tall and athletic, but not thin.... Quite surreal seeing her going past the magazine section with her face on most of them.

She understands how what she wears will be commented on, how the Queen herself takes into consideration the country she is visiting and Kate wishes to embody the Queen herself. She attends these visits as part of her Royal duties and has always been very considerate of what she needs to do and how she appears. I think she shows amazing respect and understanding of what it means to be a senior member of the Royal family. She certainly wouldn't have been used to it going in but she has quietly done what has been asked of her, without ever complaining.

We are covering 10+ years of marriage? Although I realise this clip is about her expensive pieces, she is also known for wearing the same garments most of us can afford too. I did enjoy seeing her in her outfits, many of which honor the event she is attending or place she is visiting.
It is not Cathrine's fault designers ask so much for their styles. I think they should pay Cathrine for wearing it for them . We expect her to look like a million dollars and she does not let us down.

The couple isnt perfect. And neither is Kate. She barely works, she plasters her smile on for the cameras just like any other royal does and isnt genuine at all. She presents herself as a meek, pliable wife and mother that doesn't work. She disappears from the public for months at a time. I would argue she gets pregnant just so she doesn't have to work (and not to mention to make sure William can't walk out easy if he ever changed his mind...). She was also camera happy in the beginning and even her mother and sister loved the fact they were on film. So you can't even compare that to Meghan.

It is not anti American to say that the sister in law turned up to events looking like an unmade bed. She refused to follow protocol on her outings, she barges in front of a blood Prince, refused to wear a hat when on an outing with HM (and showed the world the very sad state her hair was in), and had her husband utter the infamous words “what M wants, M gets”.
I look at her character, the meltdowns she had aides who were left in tears and with a form of PTSD. What kind of woman does that? I look at the fact that she announced her pregnancy at a royal wedding to upstage the bride (who already had to delay both her announcement and wedding due to this couple). I look at the endorsement deals she has received on the back of her royal title, which she uses at every turn. A real “feminist” would have never accepted the title and all of its trapping. Now she has done the same to her husband’s family, both classic narc traits. Love bomb, remove friends and close family, move to a different area where you are the only one who knows the territory, and blame the family who took you in of mistreatment, aka play the victim at every opportunity. She told 17 verifiable lies during an interview while her husband’s grandfather lay dying and then tried to make his funeral all about herself. No other members of the family sent out press releases on what their wreaths look like on the day of the funeral.

I recall back when Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were always being criticized by the press for how expensive their clothes were. However, unlike Kate, they seldom recycled their outfits. Kate is smart enough to know that recycling makes the proper impression on the public.

What an outfit is worth and what the royal family actually pay are two different things. They get deep discounts because the sales generated from a royal wearing an outfit at a royal event are worth much more than the price tag. The jewels can be borrowed from various jewel houses, and some are from the royal family's vast collections on loan for the event. Both Kate and Meghan had an eye-popping clothing allowance from Clarence House for official engagements.
The Royal family do not get freebies or discounts. Harry’s wife tried it with Victoria Beckham who turned her down, knowing it’s not the done thing.

This was a problem for Meghan who, not only wanted freebies but also wanted to keep everything, including some blood diamonds given to her as a wedding gift. They are not allowed to keep such things. They are archived and because of those particular diamonds she was told not to wear them. She wore them anyway.

You have to give some thought into what you choose to wear for an event, but HOW you wear it makes all the difference in the world as to what people will remember. I love it when she wore a less than $20 leopard print skirt with all her accessories and a pair of $7 earrings. I can't imagine MM ever doing such a thing. And Kate rewears these inexpensive pieces as well as others from tshirts to skinny jeans, blazers, boots, wedgies, or heels all just to change things up. People may never know when she's wearing inexpensive clothing because how she wears it will never give it away....

if my tax money is buying a persons clothing. i wouldn't have an issue with $2000 coat. but i would expect to see them in it multiple times times a year over several years or almost every day for a season. i would also like to see tailors billing for fixes and redesigns and reworking. then i expect to see it on "marketplace for rich ppl" . the money put back into the clothing budget.
Well it’s just as well her father in law gives them the money to live on from the Duchy of Cornwall so the tax payers aren’t footing the bill

Catherine is beautiful, classy, and elegant in everything she wears. Her inner beauty comes through which makes her more beautiful. She knows her place and her important role in the future of the monarchy, but she puts being a mother and wife above everything else. IMO
