The 20 Worst American Cars Of The 1940s Shamed The Automaker
Get a human narrator! You're going to lose viewers. At least the script is better. Just get rid of the bot voice. It's a joke
@@390rambler Are you feeling like the script is better? I really need your evaluation to be better every day.
@@qmusclecars Yes it's getting better. But you need to sync the right car with the description. If you must use a bot voice find a better program. There's lots of channels that use a bot voice that doesn't make the mistakes this one does.
@@390rambler Thank you very much. I really appreciate your comments. I will improve my content to make it even better.
@@qmusclecars You're Welcome!
Definitely the worst use of the English language. If that’s the best AI can just use a foreign telemarketer 😂
I'm sorry for that. I hope you continue to watch my videos.
Terrible narration....non-human, obviously.
The Hudson Super Six - so poorly designed and underpowered that it never was never able to establish a reputation as a racing legend… The DeSoto - imagine the audacity of the manufacture to sell a car with an engine that would start to leak and burn oil after seven decades…. AI….
Thanks for your information. Hope you continue to watch my videos.
Never saw an aluminum bodied plymouth. The only good thing about this video is lots of good pictures of nice cars.
thank you very much.
Some of these were very good cars in their day.
Thank you. Which car do you like the most?
Love the video, I believe that they don't look like the worst, just beyond underpowered and underappreciated down the line but that's my opinion though for now yet cool as well, great job and keep it up.
Yes, many thanks.
Shitty Robovoice.
Images of extensively modified cars in a video purporting to present shortcomings of the originals?
The pachyderm in this parlor is that all production of civilian automobiles was suspended early in 1942 until mid-1945 due to some unpleasantness in Europe, Africa, and the Pacific basin. Some deemed production of weapons and other defense equipment to be of greater importance. See also references to ration stamps for various food items, road fuel, tires, and the like.
Claims that the Kaiser Special styling was dated when in fact, at introduction the cars from Kaiser and Studebaker were the most advanced on the road while the other manufacturers were chugging along with mildly facelifted 1942 models as late as 1949? And when new models eventually came out from GM and Ford and Chrysler, the profiles closely resembled the Kaiser and Studebaker. The torpedo fastback styles quickly faded from the market in favor of the "three-box" design themes.
Likewise, new models from Hudson and Pakkard were thoroughly up-to-date at introduction. Hudson's step-down unit construction proved well-nigh impossible to update year by year so that aside from reshuffling trim, a '53 model was almost indistinguishable from a '48, but Hudson's NASCAR record in the early fifties running a side-valve six against OHV V8s from the competition speaks for the superiority of its chassis engineering.
Packard's "high price" reflects its prestige at the top of the top of the American car market.
Studebaker Champion was a low-priced model with power-to-weight matching V8 Fords. The Champion was good for speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour, competitive for its time.
The Jeepster was not a ick-up truck, it was a four-passenger phaeton.
The cars presented here were, for the most part, typical of the entire market (notable excetion the Davis Divan) and in the immediate post-war years, people were putting down deposits for whatever car the dealer could promise would be available first.
sorry for that
I like the Studebaker... nice compact atractive car... as a coupe of course.
We agree!
The pronunciation of some of the most common words on this channel is beyond hilarious
yes,thank yoyu
By 1960 our beautiful 1958 Chevrolet was so badly rusted it was replac with a Rambler Classic station wagon. Itr was a decent car, although not as zippy as the V8 Chevrolet. The only breakdown was the gas tank falling out.
Thanks for your information. Hope you continue to watch my videos.
WHY ARE THEY SHOWING HOT RODS WHEN DISCUSSING SHORT COMINGS OF MANUFACTORS OFFERINGS?
Thanks for checking us out.
James may drove a convertible crosley in a grand tour road trip
Yes.
Most of these cars were considered pretty decent cars for their time and weren’t “shameful” vehicles at all. Many of them had interesting innovations, and looks, that were appreciated by significant numbers of consumers. The companies eventually went out business because economies of scale meant that larger manufacturers could out-compete the smaller manufacturers because of their lower unit costs, thus allowing them to invest more to even further outstrip their small-company rivals, all of whom wound up merging with other smaller manufacturers, but all of these small fry manufacturers eventually threw in the towel.
Have you ever driven that car?
@@qmusclecars “Your” question makes absolutely no sense.
Davis Divan 18:00 extremely rare
Thank you for watching my video. Have a good day.
Where could you put 6 passengers in the three wheel Davis car? Three in the trunk? And the Jeepster was not a pickup truck. It was a passenger car.
Thank you for watching my video. Have a good day.
The many negative replies are RICHLY deserved. Horrid A I bot narrating era-inaccurate reviews; many 'resto-mod' examples disrespecting original cats. Don't waste your/our time with this BS.😡😡
I'm sorry for that. I hope you continue to watch my videos.
The alleged shortcomings of all of the cars described is a steaming load of BS, I have owned examples of several of these, and the only shortcoming of any of them is the sad fact that they all went out of business, the big three that remain are the worst of the automobiles that the USA had going on, what a sad state we are left with😢
Do you still have your car?
@@qmusclecars no I don't, several were stolen from me, and things happen that resulted in not having any cars now, I get sick thinking about it
Reo speed wagon must be fast, it's red.
Yes
So every one of these cars were losers because of three things. Style, underpowered, and unreliable. But the style on some of these were similar to the GM and Ford models, most cars then were underpowered by modern standards, and reliability was poor in most cars then.
The 1940 Ford looks so much better than the 1946 mutation.
thanks.
Early 40's automobile manufacturers had rations on steel allocations for the domestic market due to world war 2 this fact needs to be taken into account when assessing these vehicles!
Thanks for your information. Hope you continue to watch my videos.
Where's the 1948 whale grill Chrysler??
Great. Do you like that car?
Just pay someone to read the script
Yes, sure.
Can’t take anymore of the voice
yes,
I like the video 😅😅
Do you own a muscle car?
Thumbs down for terrible narration. Also, don't show customs when criticizing the original.
yes, thank you.
Love video❤❤❤
Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your lack of accurate information, like the DeSoto that was in production for seven decades between 1939 - 1952, a Jeepster pickup without a pickup bed, an exhibition of the technological shortcoming of an AI voice that mispronounced the script and a useless animated figure at the lower left of the screen, to cause us to think it might actually be the human reading the dialog. Twenty-two minutes wasted.
Thank you for watching my video. Have a good day.
You need to get your facts straight before you produce a video like this. Just about everything that you said was incorrect. What you claim were the worst were some of the most reliable and popular ones.
I’m sorry
Worst narrator of any video ever
I'm sorry for that. I will try to make the video better.
I don't even know where to begin with your "review". First of all, the independents didn't have a chance due to the big 3 underpricing & grabbing as much raw material & suppliers as possible after WW2 & then Korea in '50 & by '53 it was all over. The cars weren't all that bad. I stopped watching this nonsense & could not believe you bad mouthed the '40 Ford Deluxe V8 which is one of the pre-war Fords that hot-rodders considered to be the holy grail of cars to modify & has stood the test of time very well.
Every car has good points and bad points Do you agree with that?
@@qmusclecars You're mixing apples & oranges. This video is stating the worst, not good or bad points & obviously you don't know what you're talking about. I take it the author is stating that a '40 Ford, for example, is worse than a '41 Dodge or '47 Plymouth or '42 Buick. Quite the contrary.
Stop using A.I voiceover for your videos it sounds crap
I'm sorry for that. I will change my narrator.
