Treat Sea Lions with due Respect. Remember it’s their home that you’re visiting & they are glad to remind you of that if needed. They can be ferocious predators & are territorial creatures. I’ve seen them even kill full grown adult sharks twice their size that decide to tangled with them.
When I used to surf Carlsbad, Encinitas and Oceanside would see sharks but they never bothered us. But!! was chased out of the water twice by young male sea lions. Not sure why but they made it plain I was not welcome.
Wild dogs of the ocean.. bark even.
They don’t like intruders in their fishing grounds.

LOL, "I need help" - I recon you need a GWS outfit. Crazy animals, I have had a similar experience with them tearing fish out of my hands, they can be help scary and all teeth. In Cape Town, South Africa the only way to get a sea lion off your fish is to punch them in the nose. They don't fear the tip of a spear.

Lauren another great video, I hate SeaLions, they steal fish. I think I dove that spot in 1961, great spot for Abalone. Consolidated Rock had the contract to mine the gravel, Dad would get us on the Tugboat pulling barges over. Brings back great memories. Ps the water was always cold.
brucetugwell8441 Would those tugboats be from Connolly-Pacific.? They had a 99 year lease on the quarry on Catalina Island. At the 0:33 mark you can see in the background a stiff leg crane. I helped build the base for in June of 1986.
