This is the freshest rock album in years and it has a shit ton of replay value. Definitely a much-needed shot in the arm for the indie rock world that has stagnated a bit lately.
Literally those three and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are my favorite acts this year. Plus I've got tickets to see Modest Mouse, Cat Power, and The Mountain Goats. It really is the year of the animal.
Totally busted heartache rock n roll. hearing a lot of Ween on this one but what’s most exciting is they freakin rock and sound unique even with all the apparent influences and it sounds like they’re just getting started. amazing. Love it.
Hard to believe I saw these guys (we went to highschool together) at their first show where they were kinda mid, to being where they are now. Love Geese❤
I’ve been absolutely loving this record since it’s release. Cowboy Nudes and Demoto are such incredible songs and the opener is so balls to the wall. I love how their influences weave in and out of tracks on this record while also feeling so fresh and current. Great stuff.
One of my favorite albums of the year now, thank you for the rec, Anthony, you rarely disappoint. Such a fun album, and the frontman's voice is so good.
Was introduced to Geese through their debut Projector, which was one of my favorite albums in 2021. Glad to see them getting more recognition through the likes of you. Good stuff!
wow, thank you so much for reviewing this. never heard of these guys, i instantly clicked with the album, this is exactly the sort of music i've been wanting recently
Listened to the whole thing in the car with my best friend the other day; I already loved the singles but oh my god, it all flows together so cohesively and it’s such an awesome experience. Cameron Winters’ voice is so versatile and powerful, ever since I got recommended their earlier stuff by another friend he’s been one of my favorite components of the band. This one’s gonna be in rotation for a long time. Been a long time since I’ve heard an album pull off revivalism of these sounds this tastefully and just all-caps *_ROCK_* like this with like… no unintentional cheese, no carbon-copying of greats; I hope their direction for the next album is just as left-field, crazy and fun as this one is.
What an incredible find!! Every Friday I quick listen new releases and many times I’m grabbed quickly and Geese swooped down made me a fan. Love this weird and non color by numbers musicianship!!
I took a gander at this album and I ended up loving it! What’s really cool is this band seems like they still have a ton of potential that has yet to be unleashed, their sound has only just begun to take flight
The beauty of this album is in the melodies and unpredictability of their music. The musical sequences are counterintuitive and the vocal modulation very varied, all of which makes this album tireless to listen to. Compared to their first album they have made a huge qualitative leap, especially in the quality of the melodies. I love above all "Undoer", the extraordinary "Domoto", "I See My Self" and the wild "Mysterious Love", all the others are very beautiful with a mix of styles that leads me to listen continuously. All these elements together with pieces like "Undoer" and "Domoto" bring to mind a group from the past that I couldn't stop listening to for their incredible creativity, even if from a slightly different field, the "Talking Heads" . I wish these guys to continue to surprise us with so much beauty and artistic quality. Greetings from Italy
It's funny that Anthony says he discovered Geese through the singles to this album, when he actually introduced me to them by liking one of the singles years ago. I guess he forgot lol
This shit might be my album of the year. These dudes sound fucking hilarious, and have awesome chemistry all over this. It's like the Doors and Talking Heads collided in a world of Chili Peppers work piledrived them from the top row. Amazing smiled like an idiot the whole time. I HAVE to see these guys soon.
Weirdest thing about this review is that he never mentioned once Geese's first album, because I'm sure I heard about this band from him to begin with, he definitely talked about their 2021 singles. I guess he just forgot.
Great review Melon, however, I have to invalidate all of the good parts of it because Undoer was actually my favorite song on the album. Avoid making any errors like this in future reviews and I think you have a bright career ahead of you.
Great review, Anthony. I can tell by the flannel that you really liked this album, and I'm super glad that you did. But for me, I can say that this was some very interesting indie music. Also, it wasn't totally my cup of tea because I actually only really enjoyed 4 songs off the album, but they were 4 very good songs, so there's that. Therefore, this album would be a 4/10 IMO. not because it was bad but because it wasn't the music I really like to listen to. What did everybody else think about this album 🤔
Saw them opening for greta van fleet sunday. They are a force of love and nature. Beyond impressed with their set. Came for my 2nd time starcatcher tour. Left a geese fan for life
While we are talking about Geese related bands does anyone in this community like jam bands? Cuz Goose is also a really good band. And while I'm talking about Jammy music I would love to head Anthony shout out Billy Strings someday
Hola Melon, good review thanks. Edit: I absolutely adore this album. What did you think of a) Grian Chatten's debut solo record "Chaos for the Fly" and b) Baxter Drury's "I thought I was better than you" ?

I don't think this is Indie Rock but for sure
They remind me a lot of the Grateful Dead, Steve Miller, and CCR but with a modern punky twist
I completely agree. Best album in years.
This album is so good that it changed my opinion of all Geese in general, including the one that attacked me in 7th grade. 10/10

no way, r u that kid in a scooter?
When I listened to their initial work I thought Geese was just winging it, but now I understand they weren’t ducking around

Yup definitely hear the Ween influences, I see myself is very chocolate and cheese era Ween
My thoughts exactly, especially the vocals going from this amusing belly voice to a falsetto in the next song.
Geese after Swans, Can’t wait for the new Duck review

Steve Miller. The frontman sounds like Steve Miller. Couldn't put my finger on it BUT it really lends itself to the 'old' school' aesthetic.
